I recently only got back into gaming and had not done so since my early teens.

I ended up buying an xbox one as there was a great deal on, but now regret it as I think the ps4 might be better haha.

What do you guys think? :)

I have a PS4 because there are so many exclusive titles - Bloodborne, Nioh, Last Guardian, etc. If you have a gaming PC then having an Xbox is a bit redundant IMO. Xbox Live is way better than Playstation Network though, and the new version of the Xbox plays 4K Bluray discs which is pretty sweet. I wouldn't be disappointed with an Xbox if I got a good deal on it, but there's some great Playstation exclusive games you're missing out on.

For sure! I like my survival horror and Ps4 seems to be where it's at. I did get the 4k version but my TV is a crappy old 1080p so it's a bit pointless anyway.

On Xbox though you can download loads of apps that let you stream loads of movies and TV for free which is good!

Im the woooorst i havent bought a console in ages. So much easier to keep up with PC games and upgrades, imo. I recently bought my bf a Nintendo Switch for his birthday though. Its alright. Ive played way too much Zelda and its dangerous lol.

But more or topic, i feel like the ps4 is where its at currently in terms of content. There is just so much more available than whats being provided for xboxone. Which is sad since i have so many fond memories of wasting away with my xbox360

Consoles in general are at a weird place in the industry, i think. Mobile and PC gaming are really shaking it up these days.

PS4's exclusives really do speak to me, so it's going to be the first console I've bought since the PS2. On the other hand, the XBONE has all that delicious backwards compatibility. And now that the Switch is out, the WiiU should become a pretty easy bargain buy pretty soon. I'd love it if I could get all three consoles this summer, but the PS4 is definitely at the top of my list.

I just get whatever I can play Forza and Halo on. Now, those games are Microsoft exclusive rather than Xbox, so having an Xbox isn't that big of a draw. I'd probably still buy future Xbox systems just because though. Never been one to play the type of games that Playstation usually has exclusive.

Most of my gaming is done on the One. Haven't done much lately besides a few games here and there of Horizon 3. I like seeing my ready to install list grow whenever they add new 360 games via backwards compatibility. Just noticed Black Ops 2 was added. Looking forward to Scorpio.

PC.

I am of the PC Hivemind come to assimilate you into our collective. Resistance is futile.
Haha thanks, I did attempt to assimilate :hungover:! Unfortunately, I spent 900 Euros on my laptop like 5 months ago, I thought at the time that a 2gb graphics card, 8gb of ram and a quad core processor would be enough to run the latest games. Unfortunately, my idea of good specs were about 4 years behind. Works a treat for camming though, which I guess is the main thing.

You can do a lot of indie gaming with a low spec rig, so at least all is not hopeless. Honestly as time goes on, and as the so-called AAA publishers continue to repeatedly screw over PC players with shitty withholding and terrible ports, I've grown more and more into a wait-and-see guy. While I'll be happy to pay full price for game from a smaller developer if it interests me enough, I tend not to even want to look at a big budget game on PC until all the patches and DLC are out, and it's all been bundled into a definitive collected edition, and that collection had gone on sale for at least 50% off. Even then, I've felt screwed over by some games that never got fixed very well.

AAA publishers and terrible ports

Combine this, lack of exclusives, and most multiplayer communities being non existent after about a week of a games release and you have the reason I rarely do any pc gaming anymore. I think Arkham Knight was the final straw. What a shitshow that was. I don't play WoW or LoL so I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

I tend to stick to singleplayer games. Most of the time, I'm gaming to avoid human interaction. Indie games really are where PC shines brightest, right now, I think. It's such a creative wild land out there. I find I'm climbing deeper and deeper into the arthouse indie stuff, and I can't imagine that the gatekeepers of console content are all that willing to get weird with it. Even Steam, when compared to Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo, is a town without a sheriff. I like that, though. I like knowing that if I want to find crazy shit, the open platform of the PC is going to provide me with really crazy shit.

I went went with PS4 because the exclusive titles they had were more my style than what Xbox was offering. I'm mostly into single-player games and I still PC game so having an xbox seemed a bit redundant for the types of games I love (adventure/horror/indie) I ended up getting the PS4 Pro a few months ago because I'm interested in getting the whole setup and trying VR games soon.

I thought about getting an Xbox as well for a while, but between PC and PlayStation I can get everything I'm interested in. It really comes down to personal gaming style and genre preferences.

I have a PS4 because I've been a Playstation fan ever since the original Playstation and the PS4 has better exclusives. It also has a better selection of games in my opinion, and the controller feels nice, and the user interface is very easy to use. I'm perfectly fine with owning a regular PS4 and have no interest in getting a PS4 Pro because the PS4 Pro has the same exact specs as a regular PS4.

And the best thing about the PS4 is that you can replace the 500 gig laptop hard drive for a 1 terabyte or 2 terabyte laptop hard drive if that you find your about to run out of space.

PS4 100000%

Was always a fan of Sony and had the first and second generation consoles. When it came time to choose between the PS3 and Xbox 360 I went with the Xbox 360, the driving factor for that decision was being able to play Fable 2. The game library was good, however on two separate occasions I had my microsoft account hacked and someone used my account/credit card to purchase microsoft points. It took forever for their "investigation" and for me to get refunded. I also had a friend that had the same thing happen to him. What with that and the PS4 having more exclusives that grabbed my attention, I decided on PS4 and am super happy I went with it.

Also, even though the PS4 isn't backwards compatible they do have the PS NOW, which has a pretty good PS3 game selection and the subscription is reasonably priced. They also have a couple of the more popular PS1 and PS2 games available for download. Fingers crossed that eventually they will make Dragon Quest 8 available on the store.

I have both. :)

Sadly, not enough time to play them. :(

Depends on what exclusives you are interested in, but the Xbox One S is a heck of a good deal for all that you get.

I have both and a PC but i need a new PC so i can start gaming on it again. Xbox One has better feeling controllers... xbox live is SO much better but the games arent flowing. PS4 has some good games coming but both have been lackluster as far as exclusives.

I have been a gamer all my life and the entire eighth generation of consoles has failed to get me excited in any way, which has not happened with any of the previous generations. I am going to skip this generation and stick to my PC for now.

The PS4 exclusives pretty much make it a better console (Persona 5, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Crash Bandicoot, Last Guardian, Uncharted 4, Kingdom Hearts, Ratchet & Clank, Yakuza 0 off the top of my head, plus stuff like Death Stranding and Last of Us 2 coming soon-ish). The only X-Box exclusives I'd wanna play are the Halo and Gears and War stuff. That said there's still plenty of great games you can play now (Witcher 3, Final Fantasy XV, XCOM 2, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Resident Evil 7, DOOM, etc.)

while in the drivethru lane at taco bell, their xbox contest triggered a "PC is so much better than console" between my husband and i.

As a true gamer comfortable with the size and power of my console - unlike some people! - I don't feel the need to over-compensate with a big expensive gaming PC rig that I can't afford and that I'm definitely not bitter about not owning and why would I want one anyway when we all know PC's and laptops are intended for watching porn and nothing else and I wouldn't want to pervert Bill Gates' vision for a platform that was lovingly built to facilitate the remote viewing of boobs from other countries with something as inappropriate as video games?
