2 Months into MFC!

Hey peeps! So I have been a cam girl for about 3 years on SM and decided that I wanted to try MFC because it seems more in line with where I am trying to go with my camming. I love playing games, dancing, having fun, being myself, and connecting with people!! The first month was so fun and great for me on MFC and I'm about on my second week of month two and things have slowed down for me DRAMATICALLY. I'm not sure why but its been soooooooo dead in my room. Like literally no one in there for long periods of time. I get a few regulars that will talk and tip but then they have to go and I'm stuck with no one. Sometimes a few members will log in but are dead silent. I try talking and asking questions, dancing, being cute, laughing, different angles, playing games, ect. I also have an active twitter and snapchat and always post when I'm logging on.

I know MFC takes a while to build a fan base and all of that but I am starting to get discouraged with no one in my room and my camscore dropping. I would love some advice and support from anyone who has been on the site for a good length of time. I would like to hear models and members take on this and what I can do to improve my room and get people in there and INTERACTING WITH ME!!!

This August will be 3 years for me on MFC so I hope I can offer some advice/comfort. The first thing I'd recommend is getting verified as a model here. There are a ton of model only forums that are loaded with excellent info.

Consider hiding your camscore. After I hid mine it got rid of most of my stress coming from that. Just ignore it and work a bunch to make new friends and members. Once the 'new model' tag goes off your account, if you haven't exploded, your room count will plummet.

My camscore got down to the 700s after my first couple of months, but it slowly climbed and is now sitting around 3k. My biggest advice is just stay on as much as you can right now to meet new people.

I hate blaming things on the time of year, but Summer has always been a bit of a weird time on MFC for me. I don't know what other sites are like, but I could see MFC being hit harder than most due to the draw being that it's so social. Lots of people socialise more during summer months which gives less need to come onto cam. The weather is better, more is going on and lots of people have children off school to entertain as well as planned holidays. Don't get me wrong, you can have an amazing time over summer and earn plenty if you work hard at it, but in my experience it has always been harder than other times of year.
Things aren't too bad though, in my experience once you get to September and have the run up to Christmas/New years MFC has always been loads busier and easier to work with. I have heard of many other women here having the same experience as me. It is also a similar experience to what I noticed when I worked in strip clubs. I have heard that lots of sex workers actually take Summer off. I pretty much used to do the same and make up for it in Autumn.

So while I am not saying that it is necessarily due to the summer slump. I think you should also not be too hard on yourself and give up, lots of girls share this experience.
Like Braislee mentioned, sign up to the models only section and have a look through for ideas to keep yourself going through the quiet times.

I didn't even think about summer being part of it, but may-july are definitely my slowest months. Previous years I took a lot of time off those months to work my festival job. I cut back on that this year and have definitely noticed a financial slump.

I think this is a good advice. You're a pretty girl with a great body, I'd think you'd make good (and probably more important consistent money) on SM. It is hard, but not impossible, to dig yourself out of the poor camscore hole of MFC. Especially hard if you appear to be really desperate.

I was trying to get verified as a model on here but it said I dont have enough activity to apply yet so I'm just waiting for that I guess.

I did hide my camscore from my profile and have been trying not to pay attention to it but its hard because of all the pressure of keeping a good camscore to get noticed more. I guess just staying on even if no one is in there is what people are saying to do? Its so hard to be entertaining and into it when no one is there though but I guess its something to work at and hopefully it will pay off.

Thanks! Yeah I make decent money on SM. I'm just sick of it cuz I dont want to constantly have to be fucking myself. It gets old after a while and has made me have some problems down there in the past.

Thank you. I wish I had more time to dedicate to that site but honestly I have a SUPER busy life outside of camming and working on 2 sites right now is already a lot for me so I dont think I can make that work at the moment. I have heard of it though but also heard that no ones on it yet cuz its still in beta. Thanks!!

Yeah, the pressure sucks. Hiding mine definitely helped, but I can't help but check it from time to time. But, yes, the best advice I can give for MFC is just stay online. I don't know how many times my room would be dead for hours, and then someone would show up and kill my countdowns or even just start tipping a little and it magically gets the room moving.

This is probably why I'm hooping so much on cam. I used slow times early on to practice hooping. Now when it's slow I'll hoop or start teasing the camera a lot and when the room starts to fill up, sit down and do the whole "if you guys want me to keep teasing we need to work on this countdown".

Oh man, my AC stays so low when I'm on cam, lights + hooping means I'm covered in sweat in now time lol.

Honestly for the first almost 2 years I was working 8+ hours a day 5-6 days a week, except during the summer when I was working my festival job. I needed the money and from everything I'd read I just needed to stay online and try to build up regular members. I could easily put in over 200 hours on cam a month. I had a very good tipper find me last year and have been able to work less online recently, but I still avg around 5-6 hours when I'm online. If I'm lucky and it's really good when I first get on, I'll log off as soon as it dies to save my camscore now. But that has me worried, b/c I've lost and gained so many different regs throughout the years, that if I don't stay online and keep making new ones the ones I have will eventually go away and I'll be back in the struggle.

Would like to point out, while I was working a ton of hours I was still doing pretty well for myself. I stayed near miss MFC #700-1500. I was able to rent a house on my own and finance a car. Don't let camscore determine your success. You might have to work a little more while it's lower to make your goals, but the universe rewards hard work and perseverance!

Yeah there definitely seems to be a strategy to working your way up on that site. But for now I guess I'll just have to work as much as possible on there to build my regulars even if my camscore suffers.

Also another question I had was what do you do after cum shows? So far the countdowns/games I've had had been semi successful. Gotten my top/bottoms off and reached my goals for cum shows and I get a good amount of people in my room from that but then after the cum show I am lost as to what to do to keep people in my room.

Your room count will always shrink a lot after a show, but you can use the bigger number to try and impress some of the new people with your personality/hooping.

-Game of chance - lucky draw - It's called a lot of things and girls all do it differently. I've just been calling it my box for years now.
I put 420 tickets into a box. They all have different prizes on them. Not 420 different things but there's like 25 boob flashes/nipple clamps tickets (some have two options incase I'm topless or whatever they aren't dead draws) and 30 butt flashes/spanks tickets. Not all of them are sexual, some are things like "twerk attempt" (I can't and the guys find it amusing), jumping jacks, 2 minute picture (they give me something to draw in 2 minutes)... There's more sexual things like 1-2 minutes with the Hitachi, BJ teases, 5 mins naked... There's 1 video card for any video.... You get the idea...
I started it at 20tkns a draw and slowly bumped it up to 30tkns as my camscore went up, along with slowly raising my other prices too.
-Control cumshows - My "controls" are pretty cheap to try and get more people involved as the room count goes up. (Hi - 7 Low - 5 Off - 10) I'll usually have some higher tkn options like adding a butt plug (if I didn't already have a countdown for it (if the room is moving fast I'll do other "shows" to not rush into a cumshow)) it's also a good time to offer a recording of the show!

Streamate I could make work for me, MFC not as much. Eventually I learned how to make about 1/2 as much per hour on mfc as I did on Streamate (before I went non nude.)

I got up to the top on Streamate by camming late night hours, so I tried that on mfc too - trying to hit late night / early morning... a time when there was much less models on.

MFC is over saturated with models, if you're camming at prime time hours when all the top girls are on, it will be noticeably slower. Camming at 8pm vs 5am could be a difference of 8 people in your room vs 200.

I did see you doing some great entertaining without leading it towards tipping. You can get stuck speed chatting too which made it hard to join your room. MFC takes more patience and looking for the right moments I suspect, a good show, game or entertaining room that works on other sites may fail on MFC without some 'flow' to it. [Flow state dynamics do apply here.]
When you focused you were awesome, when I tipped I had your attention, you listened well and had some fun with it. A few more regulars and it will feel less quiet, feel much less like work.

One practical thing you could try is to use the 'Happy Dance' for example as a reward for tipping, especially with any big tips, the first tip in a set, and early on in a session. Room identity can be a powerful lure for regulars as well as those less regular visitors; at least the member knows he/ she can visit for that, then perhaps stay to enjoy more.

Oh sweet! Cool that you saw me up there! I am just so over streamate at this point and I want MFC to sustain me but I know its gonna be a slow transition. I just like the vibe on MFC so much more. I can be myself way more than on SM. I havent been making that much on SM lately cuz I just havent been into it and I find myself logging off after a couple hours cuz I'm just over it haha.

MFC seems to be better for me when I log on around 630pm PST and go till like midnight or later.

I know it takes a while to build so I am being as patient as I can. I just dont want to get on early morning because I am not a morning person and its hard for me to be all chipper so I know its better for me to get on when I am feeling my best in the evening!

What entertaining are you talking about without tips? The hula hooping? Just want to clarify. I usually will hoop for free because it keeps me busy and its something interesting to look at. I do have the option for tipping for a light show though which is WAY cooler. I got 2 light show tips last night so that was fun

Also speed chatting? Do you mean when I was talking with like one or two people? I'm still trying to figure out how to manage that without being rude or anything because I do actually like when people are talking. Its hard to entertain a quiet room but you are right I just have to wait till I have more regulars I guess.

One more question...do you know how to create a timer in the chat room? I have been trying to figure it out but no luck. like how you said you will do 5 min naked. Do you use a timer?

How do you record your show?

There are a few different ways you could do it. I used to use manycam but now I use a paid version of xsplit (some cooler options + a little better quality). Both let you add a watermark, record your show, and a lot of other neat things.

Oh yeah, I've used a timer in a lot of different ways. I started by using the timer/stopwatch on my phone (but I don't like to pick up my phone on cam) then I used a program called snaptimer for windows that just gave me a little countdown timer. No I'm using a plugin for xsplit that lets me add a timer to my video feed, so now anytime I have a timer it's in the corner on my cam! If you're on Windows 10 you can pull up a built in timer! Just hit the windows key then type "timer". Click on "Alarms & Clocks". In the window that opens click on the Timer icon. You can make as many timers as you want for different things by hitting the +. Then just keep that open when you're on cam. (I didn't figure all this out, it's been a lot of learning from my techy BF)
