About your sound. I don't know my way around the built in mac cam software, but you should look for something that says "right sound" in your webcam settings (not MFC settings) to fix that on/off thing. What it's doing is silencing unless you speek which can be very annoying from the watcher side, especially if you listen to music. It can really ruin a tease dance when you stop talking and the sound disappears! :?
Looking forward to you getting model status! Bob had some good points though. Don't let yourself get sucked into pms while trying to be nice to everyone. If they aren't willing to say "hi bb" in public chat you honestly don't want them around.

I know this was posted a while ago. But I have an answer for iMac users. Hell, it might work for a standard Mac too. If you go into your sound settings on System Preferences, there's a use ambient noise reduction. If selected, just go ahead and unselect it and it should solves your problems. Sorry felt the need for this. I was going through and trying to find things to help me along the way, since I just started this past week on MFC. And yes, I have applied for model status!

All these tips have been so great! Especially the tip of don't do something you aren't comfortable with just to build a fan base. I'm glad to have found this forum, it's a relief to know that I'm not the only one who has these same questions! :-D

HI girls, im new on this forum and i want to say hi :)
I also have a question. Im a cammodel on mfc since October 2012. Unfortunatley, without big success :( Its a long story, in general i f*cked it up on the beginning and its really hard to make it better now. My score is around 1000 and im thinking to create new account. And here's a question - is it possible to create new account on myfreecams ? I wrote to the support to ask about that, but they said thats impossible and i have to using my existing account, but i saw a girl who have 2 profiles and both are active. A members also told me, that they know many girls, who had many account on mfc.
Im working for myself, im not in a studio. I tried really hard to make things better, but actually i have enough of empty and silent room, i want to start again.. I would be gratefull for any help :)

A new account will not help you at a 1000 camscore. New accounts start at 1000 cs.

I know that :) It is known that it is easier to stand out as a new model when im promoted by mfc. I ruined it at the beginning and now its very hard for me. I had no idea what was going on in this job, i had no idea what is camscore and how important it is, I didnt know mfc. Now I have more knowledge and experience and I would like to start again, to use in maximum the time as a new model, and to work on the score from the beginning.

Regarding the setting of your boundaries and letting members know what you are comfortable doing, spend the time writing a good profile that lists your dos and don'ts, and then begin tearing your hair out when 99% of the members don't bother to read it before asking if you squirt on demand.
I'm new to mfc too so maybe this is a dumb question or it's been answered or others have the same question, but how do you make a nice looking profile? I can't even figure out how to make images for mine :(((

To make it look nice:

go to your model admin.
Under the green "my profile" heading, second to last is "customize profile". Go there.

Choose a background, and font colors, and font sizes. Check it in the preview at the bottom to make sure it looks good. Save.

To add pictures to your profile albums:

go to your model admin.
Under the green "my profile" heading, towards the middle are "upload photos" and "manage photos". Manage lets you create a new album, and set passwords to the albums. Most models have at least one free set.

to host a picture on your model admin without it showing on your profile:

upload the picture, but don't choose an album to put it in. From your model admin "manage photos" area, click on the pic, then click on it again. Copy-paste the stuff in your address bar and save that somewhere. That's the link to the picture.

to insert a picture into your profile text

use
Code:
<img src="URL of Image here"></img>

(Just in case, I'm sure you already knew this, but some people might not, "URL" means that thing in the address bar of the website. So the URL for this forum is https://www.ambercutie.com/forums/)

To make it clickable

Code:
<a href="URL of website here"><img src="URL of image here"></img></a>

To insert spaces into your profile:

You can use the p tags

Code:
<p>put a paragraph here</p>
Put another paragraph here
<p>put a third one here</p>

It will appear on the profile like so:

put a paragraph here

Put another paragraph here

put a third one here

If you use <p> </p> around the second one, it will have an extra empty space between each paragraph.

If you only want one break, use <br>

Code:
Some text here
<p>This is a list of things<br>
-here is the first item on the list<br>
-here is the second item on the list<br>
-this is the last item on the list</p>
Some more text here

looks like

Some text here

This is a list of thing
-here is the first item on the list
-here is the second item on the list
-this is the last item on the list

some more text here

Lastly, if you mess up the code, MFC will delete it all when you go to update your profile. So, it's really important to save a copy of it in your text document.

Some basic html tags
<a href="URL of site here">text here</a>
(shows "text here" on profile, users click it to go to the site specified by "URL of site here")
<p>paragraph goes in here</p>
puts an empty line before and after everything between the paragraph tags
<b>bold text goes in here</b>
<i>italics go in here</i>
<u>underlined goes in here</u>

If you want something bold and underlined, you can go one of two ways:
<b><u>text</u></b> or <u><b>text</b></u>

The important thing is which ever tag is first for opening it (starting it), must be last for the closing tags. Thus, it's recommended that as soon as you open a tag, do the closing tag. Then any new tags have to stay completely inside, or completely outside the pair which is already there. You can nest as many as you like. So you can have:

Code:
<p><b><u>This is the header</u></b><br>
-This is an item<br>
-This is another item<br>
<i>this is a footnote clarifying something</i><br>
-this is another item<br>
-one last item<br>
<i>another footnote</i><br>
<b>something really important</b></p>

to get

This is the header
-This is an item
-This is another item
this is a footnote clarifying something
-this is another item
-one last item
another footnote
something really important

Have fun!

Hi girls!
I'm new to this forum and to MFC (so hi! :) ) all the tips are really helpful so I wanted to say thanks first! :-D

I have a few questions though.. hope they aren't dumb :)
I've read that you shouldn't start lower with a countdown or something than you want yourself to be. But I find it hard to have a high countdown when mainly there's no one in my room.. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or maybe I should just have patience but I've tried to games, dancing, talking but most of the time I get no response. So should I just keep talking then? And dancing etc.. Or what should I do? I'm also scared that if I just wait that my camscore will get down and I won't be able to get it up.
I use the news feed but that doesn't help very much with getting members in my room.

I've read the tips on the 'open' forums since i'm not approved for models status yet, so I don't know if my question gets answered there but hopefully someone has a few tips for me :thumbleft:

Thanks anyway! :handgestures-salute:

Will it effect my camscore if I create an account with MFC but don't start broadcasting for a few days? I want to take as much advantage of new model status as I can (derp), but I also want to get my profile set up and looking sick so when the moment comes I can just log in and go. It takes me eons to figure out HTML and even longer to be satisfied with it. Are you not officially burning up NMS time if you haven't actually started camming yet?

hmm...maybe I'm not asking the right question or I'm too fried to comprehend the answer. Ummmm...so say I get approved for MFC on Monday and I squander two days building my profile and don't start broadcasting until Wednesday. Am I listed as a new model on the site on Monday or Wednesday? It's like a word problem in second grade math, but less fun.

No.
The new model tag only shows, and starts counting down, once you actually get on cam. Dicker around with your profile OFFLINE for weeks if you want. You'll still have the new model tag when you first get on cam.

To anyone looking from the members side you don't show up on the models list if you're just signed in working on your profile. Only once you turn on your cam.

Also, if you're just wanting to work on your profile or check your mail don't sign into mfc the normal way. Go through this link. http://profiles.myfreecams.com/ It allows you to do all those things without appearing anywhere someone could even see you, even if they somehow already have you added to their friends list.

Does that still work the same way now that MFC lets members pick the number of days a model is new, instead of a set amount of hours on cam?

Good question. That I do not know. Off hand if a model gets on for an hour her first time then doesn't get on again for a week, if a member has the setting to only show new models 3 days old I guess they may not show up now.

It does. The clock won't start ticking until a model broadcasts, the only thing different is the amount of time a member sees her as new.

Do you know if they are calender days or 24 hours of time on cam?

I honestly have no idea, but I'm a super curious person so I emailed support. If I get a response, I'll post it here. :)

So, they answered:

I'm impressed that they answered at all since I think my question was poorly worded, but I have to think they meant "from first broadcast" and not "from first signing up" since everyone always has the new model tag the first time they first broadcast, no matter how long they go between sign up and broadcasting.

Don't be afraid of taking risks, of shooting for what you want. I know other models have said it, I'm just pitching in.

If you don't want to get topless for less than 2,000 tokens, don't do it. If you don't want to get topless period end, don't.

When I first started camming (on another site, then progressing to MFC), I had people asking for things all the time. I
later came to realize that all it was, in fact, was begging. That's something I don't really tolerate any longer in my room.
I was setting really low room goals, thinking that I couldn't achieve more than that because nobody was willing to meet
anything higher. If they're not? Tough luck for them, someone else will come along who WILL be willing to meet your
requests, in return for their own requests.

"I am disinclined to acquiesce to your request."

It's from Pirates of the Caribbean, but it's totally true, so don't underestimate yourself.

If you're setting low goals all the time for a public "show" or getting you naked for the internet to see, people are going to
see that as the norm for your room. So why will they want to give you a private or tip you higher, if they know that with a
few 10 token tips from other guests, you'll be naked shortly enough and without much effort on your part.

You're worth more, so make them think it and know it for yourself. It may take some time, but you will gain a following, and
you won't have to feel cheap, or seem cheap to the MFC'ers who like to pinch their tokens. Trust me, holding out for your
token goal, or chatting up a room until you get someone who has enjoyed your conversation and takes you private for 30
minutes, is a lot better than sitting naked in your room for a grand total of 600 tokens while people stop tipping because
they've already got what they want.

If you don't want to do something in public chat... for instance, last night I had people screaming up a storm for a public squirt
show, and I hadn't met a single goal yet that night (only been on for an hour), I simply asked, "Why? Because you begged for it?
I'll tell ya what, kids, give me a free cum show and I'll give you one." MFC guests can be nice, funny, and sweet... but they can
also just be horndogs who want to get off without effort. They've probably (I can safely assume) never had the job that you do,
and some don't understand that it IS a job (even though it's a fun one), thinking that you're there just to get off like they are.

So be patient, find your own limits, and don't let other people set them for you. You'll find your camming experience much more
enjoyable, and you'll also find that a majority of your regulars are the 'good guys' who can carry on a conversation, play your room
games, and also tip you without a "please, bb, i will has tkns l8er if u gimme a show now". ;)

Hope that wasn't too long or too repetetive of other posts... it's just something that I used to experience all the time, and I didn't
really enjoy camming until I found my own boundaries, limits, and goals. So... yeah. [hides in a corner]
This post is great, thank you so much.

Agreed, this is just so inspiring!

I was very uncomfortable being in front of the wedcam at first but I love it now. I think more you wedcam you will feel more comfortable and sexyer. Also try different places to wedcam before I just to sit on my bed but now I sit on the floor I look skinnier and its easyer to tease and reply to pm. Btw if pm get crazy you can have pm only for friend maybe ask for 100 or 200 tnks of a friend add. Watching other models really help me how to act and how to tease. Read their topics and profiles. be nice to every one someone might not have tnks that day but maybe next week they will. plus there alot of cool sweet guys. ever if they dont tip.

and pvt instead of private tnk instead tokens
