Beginner's questions- please help a girl out!

Hey girls! Have one silly question here, I was looking through model's profiles to give me an idea on how to build mine and found a lot of girls have ''mute/unmute'' in their tip menus. How does that work? You turn your sound off until someone unmutes you? that's what I understand but I can be wrong haha

Usually the model mutes themselves, rather than their computer. Any music or whatever will still be going, but they stay silent. In the middle of a cum show this can be a fun challenge for models that have a natural tendency to express their pleasure audibly, and it evokes sneaky, need-to-be-quiet-in-case-we-get-caught sexytimes. Outside of cum shows (or when the model is also denied pleasure by a e.g. hitachi=off tip), I've seen models have fun with mouthing words and being very expressive without actually speaking.

Gosh I think I'm making stupid one stupid question after another, don't hate me haha I was just wondering if many of you use this thing on mfc (sorry my english sucks) for countdowns so when you get a tip it automatically subtracts from the countdown? I'd like to use it but i'm afraid someone might for something that doesn't go towards the count so i'd have to add it back and how bad it'd look to the other members, but i'm really scared if i use a calculator i'll mess up lol

Do ninja tips get automatically subtracted too?

I don't think you should sell your twitter but instead use it to promote yourself, there's a few tips on it on the wiki

Well Instagram doesn't seem very adult-friendly to me, I haven't really looked into it but they clearly aren't pro-nipple, so Idk maybe it wouldn't be the most productive platform for promotion or sales hence not being used as much?

I don't think you should sell your twitter but instead use it to promote yourself, there's a few tips on it on the wiki

Some models, such as Jalyn sell a PRIVATE twitter as a snapchat replacement. As on snapchat models have been banned for posting porn, which is prohibited by snapchat terms and conditions.
Jalyn uses another twitter account for promotion.

I sell my Instagram and Snapchat as a "member's only" club perk. I do not post pictures on my Twitter, so if you want to see sexy pictures of me you have to get my Instagram or Snapchat...
I feel like posting nudes and implied nudes on Twitter leaves less of a reason for members to buy a private Twitter, Snapchat or Instagram.

Twitter and Insta are mainly promotion tools more so to entice new followers to watch me on cam, by videos, phone time, fetish sessions and the many other things I offers. So I do not sell them.
I use snap to promote as well and sell it. However any very sexy pictures, nudity or very dirty talk is only sent directly to paid memberships. I like the ease of that on snap.
Also when people want to dm for a long chat on Twitter or Insta I recommend them to purchase my snap or kik

First of all I am so glad to have found this forum with all these gorgeous and sweet girls! I hope you don't mind my questions.
I am very new to camming. I've thought about it for a long time but never did it (was married, had a baby and was uncomfortable with my body for a while etc. etc.), and now that I'm newly single and could use some extra $$$ next to my part time bartending job I thought why the hell not? So I signed up for MFC, got accepted and went online last night to kinda see what the drill is and how this stuff works, and I found myself a little overwhelmed and not really knowing what to do, so I'm hoping you girls can help me out!
A lot of guys started privately chatting to me, and most of them wanted Skype sessions to which I declined, I'm not doing Skype sessions, or at least not yet. So how do you get someone to go into private session with you? How do you politely discuss before hand what you do and don't do? And how far did you go when you started out? It made me a little nervous to have all these guys talking to me. I don't have any sextoys, and I'd love to hear some experiences because it seems so weird/different to suddenly play with myself in front of a cam. How do you set/find your boundaries?
Also, when I was chatting the mic kept going in between no volume/low volume, I can't seem to find what the problem is because I have a Mac with an automatic built in cam and mic so it should just work?
Sorry for all these super basic questions but I'd really love to hear your first time experiences, so that I can develop myself a little more in this webcamming world

As far as the microphone sound thing goes, I had the same thing happening. However when I asked my room if my sound was okay, several people said they could hear me just fine. So until then, I'd just ask the members in your room to let you know if they can or can't hear you. If no one has any complaints, then I wouldn't sweat it too much until you can afford to buy an external webcam and/or mic!

Yes, there's an automatic tool! What you want to do first is set your countdown goal in the countdown window and save it. Then, in your topic, type "@remain" without the quotation marks and every time a tip is given it will automatically change the countdown. Ninja/anonymous tips do not contribute to the countdown I believe, so if a member wants to tip for something that does not contribute to the countdown, they could do a ninja tip and that should work.

While you wait, do some searches. I know a couple of the threads in here did give advice for models who can't seem to get in to model status. Set the search to only look through Ask-a-model, and do another to only look through "general discussion". That will keep it from pulling up 5 million model's only posts you can't read yet.

I'm not 100% sure about this (someone correct me if I'm wrong) but I heard camgirltoolkit is very popular. It's takes away the hard part of coding so you don't have to (I believe) ...I'll have too look more into it but once I start back camming and I earn enough I'm going to make my MFC profile all fancy like using camgirltoolkit as well. Because I'm too dumb for the coding. I figured some stuff but that's because I googled how to do coding and I copied and pasted and refilled some things

Also, use camgirl promo accounts to your advantage! follow a couple, they'll usually follow back and lots of them will start RT'ing your stuff. I've only been working on my twitter for a couple months but it's definitely picking up steam. Something I've done with non-camming advertisement twitter accounts, and I'd be somewhat judicious about how you do this, you can use twitterbots to auto-like posts under certain hashtags. A solid number of the people you like tweets from will follow you, so if the bot is going for a while it'll basically auto-generate followers.

Think in terms of what tags you use on MFC or Chaturbate and do keyword searches for those tags and follow the accounts that come up. I would encourage interaction with these pages to have a following. I'm bad about not interacting as much due to lack of time, but if a camgirl has the time to put in to make it work she may gain more followers, strengthen her brand and bring in that extra $$$!

I'm gonna start camming again next week (first week of september) and i guess this is not a question, looking for a bit of encouragement lol I can only cam from tuesday to friday from 7 or 8 am for 2 or 3 hours maximum. I really wanna do good this time but i rely completely on a relative who can only look after my kids on said schedule... you think i'll fail with that schedule? Plus being non nude.. first time i was on mfc i had a similar schedule and did... fine (tho i was not extrictly non nude and now i am) Not great, but had a couple good tippers. There's no way i can change this schedule (or do much sexual stuff) plus if my relative is busy i just can't cam lol i guess i'm just looking for some encouragement... or a slap of realism haha thank you

You're gonna catch the notorious "morning wood" crowd. You have a chance to earn during those times. 2-6am is usually pretty slow until my morning regulars wake up. Plus, it doesn't take a lot to stimulate them in the morning, so non-nude shouldn't be an issue either.

That's a really good idea that I never thought of. I have problems getting followers but I also don't put a lot of effort into my twitter account. Switching to SM has made me even lazier about it and I'm on the fence of whether or not I should really keep up with it now that I'm solely on SM. Since we aren't allowed to promote our twitter on SM it's difficult to gain followers but I have a good amount of regulars on there and make good money so still unsure. I also never take the time to take many selfies (super busy all day with normal day job plus moming) unless I'm getting ready for cam and during that time I'm stressed to just get ready.

Is there any way you can cam while your kids are asleep? I cam while my son sleeps and it's exhausting but the more hours you put in the more money you will make and the better your camscore will be. Your first month you want to put in as many hours as humanly possible which sucks but if you're non-nude it will help you a ton too earning-wise.

Hey! So I just finished my first day camming on MFC and I have a few questions.

1. How do games work?? I'll see models with references to games in their topics, but can never seem to figure out what they're doing.

2. When does your time online affect your model score? literally any time you're logged into your model profile on MFC, when the streaming browser window is open, or while you're live streaming? My score is around 919, and I've streamed for about 4 or 5 hours and made 2338 tokens, but I spent some time on my profile and trying to learn the broadcasting stuff.

3. Are some crowds just quiet/bad tippers? I tried to get some cheap tip options going to make it easy for people to start jumping in, but nobody really seemed to be biting :/ is there anything people do to try and get them more active? Or do models have a rule of thumb for calling it a night if there's no tipping going on?
