2. When does your time online affect your model score? literally any time you're logged into your model profile on MFC, when the streaming browser window is open, or while you're live streaming? My score is around 919, and I've streamed for about 4 or 5 hours and made 2338 tokens, but I spent some time on my profile and trying to learn the broadcasting stuff.
From what we have figured out over the last couple years, your camscore is only affected while you're streaming. So if you've hit "go online" or broadcast or whatever the button says (I can't remember right now! haha) then it's counting. I don't think we have confirmed if "away" counts for this or not, since it still shows you as "online" while you're away. So the advice would be to not use that feature often/for long.

Hello!
I was feeling the same way when I started my first session, I can honestly say that I'm still not 100% confident in myself after just doing my 5th show. Its a tough business, but I'm trying too.
I also have that problem with my mic and wonder what is the cause of that.
If you find out, let me know! You're beautiful so don't try super hard!
Go with the flow!

Hey everyone! I've been camming for a year now and for a while I was doing okay, but not as good as I would have liked. But the past few months I decided to come up with a legit schedule and I try to get online every night at that time, as if I were going to work at a normal job. And wow, it has helped so much!

You have to be consistent and have a regular schedule (any time that works best for you really) because if you don't, people just don't know what time they can expect to see you online. Being consistent with my schedule has seemed to gain me many new regulars, and my big countdown shows at the end of the night seem to bring in more and more people everyday!

Having people to talk to is a huge part of making your show successful, because no one wants to watch a model that is just sitting there quietly, it's just not entertaining. It can be hard to get people to talk though, it seems that most viewers just want to watch. So to try to get new members into my room, I created a "game" to play on weekends or days that are slow. I basically write down some tip menu items on strips of paper and place them in a bowl. Someone who wants to play tips XX tokens, and then I draw a random piece of paper and do what's on it (flashes, close-ups, BJ with a toy, etc.). The part that brings in new members is the fact that I make the random drawing cost less than anything on my tip menu, so no matter what they draw (even the lowest prize) everyone wins! It's kinda selling myself short I guess, but I only do it on special days (and people get really into it sometimes!). Plus, I usually still have people tip full price for items so they for sure get what they want so it works out :) there's tons of games you can play though, I just don't like playing games that members can actually lose at. Those games can be fun, but often times they can cause drama because members pay to play and they like to get something out of their tokens!

Anyway, that's my 2 cents :p hope this helps someone else! Xoxo

as someone that doesn't really know much about caming yet but wanting to know more this thread and whole forum is a god send!

HI EVERYONE!
I see that many models are making videos to sell, and I was wondering - What are you doing in the video, and how much did you sell it for? How long was this video?

I have a GoPro Hero4, so I want to make one of myself in the shower! Wet t-shirt and panties to start and then slowly take everything off and give a sexy dance. My video would be max 10min, probably closer to 8min, so how much should I sell for?
Keep in mind, I'm on SM, so I only get 35% of whatever GOLD I would get for this video!

Thanks in advance for your help, you're all so wonderful and supportive!

That sounds like a great game to play! Next time I have a lot of people in my room, I will have to try this!
I personally get a lot of people taking me into PVT/EXCL right away, which can be upsetting to some of the other people in the room because they don't want to wait around until I'm finished.
Maybe if I take a block of time for an hour during the night and do this so everyone can enjoy!

YOU'RE AWESOME

It's sounds really good, it worked for me on chaturbate. But what could you advice on mfc? There I already have score 1000, so it's much harder to make people to visit your room at all, barely possible to make them talk to you and nearly impossible to make them tip and support you. If you have some me advices for low scored model, I would really appreciate that.

I've read here that a score of 1000 isn't necissarily a bad thing! I'm on SM, so I can't say for sure, but that's the score they first give you when you start to make sure people see you/enter your room! Anything below 1000 can be approved, but I think you're in a decent place right now!

As for getting people into your room - you could create a Twitter account to promote yourself! I'm thinking about doing that to create more traffic!
And as for KEEPING them in your room, just be friendly! Look like you're having a great time, smile often, giggle, capture their attention by asking them questions about their day or where they live or what kind of work they do.
I've only been at it for three weeks on SM, but I already have regulars coming back and immediately taking me into exclusive as soon as they enter the room because I've charmed the crap out of them!

Also, use camgirl promo accounts to your advantage! follow a couple, they'll usually follow back and lots of them will start RT'ing your stuff. I've only been working on my twitter for a couple months but it's definitely picking up steam. Something I've done with non-camming advertisement twitter accounts, and I'd be somewhat judicious about how you do this, you can use twitterbots to auto-like posts under certain hashtags. A solid number of the people you like tweets from will follow you, so if the bot is going for a while it'll basically auto-generate followers.
Can you share share some of the reliable promo accounts? I've never used twitter at all but I made an account for camming.

Honestly the ones I used then have since been deleted so idk who currently is okay. Basically anyone who asks for anything in return is a scumbag lol

Thanks so much for your replies guys/ladies! Jolene, do you use your built in cam of your Mac? Mine seems to be working fine for now but I think a separate one might come in handy for full body shots, especially if I wanna be able to type.
I've definitely already written my absolute DON'TS on my profile and turned the private message thing off cause it was driving me nuts. Definitely reading a lot but I'm glad to be on this forum so I can hopefully prevent some beginner's mistakes :) Your advice is well appreciated!

P.S.
It's kinda nice to have something naughty to 'come home to' ;)
Hey xxamsterdam, I was using my built in mac cam and it worked okay. I decided to buy a new external cam to get a better picture. I did tons of research and found the "Tecknet hd1080p web camera." I bought it on amazon for $24. It has awesome picture. The reviews on it blew the more expensive cams out of the water! The only complaint I have is the mount is shaky if you use your laptop on the bed while your doing your show. I fixed it with some Velcro. I would recommend this to any model that wants an external cam. If you want to see the picture difference, message me and we can go in my room and I'll switch from the built in mac cam and the tecknet.

In room topic I put PM/Friend add 75 tokens. I dont accept private messages unless someone is on my friends list. And Skype is up to you..some models accept other forms of Payment but that will not help with your camScore or traffic which has definitely came into realization for me lately. My tip would be try to do countdowns in public chat that's the only way to draw in more / new tippers. Even if you are in private you,can gain, new tippers through the spy, feature but skype will not help just starting out. Once you build regulars offer your regular Skypes or better yet raffle off skypes or highest tipper of night gets 5 minute Skype show ect.... hope this helps xo good luck on your camming ventures!!

My first day was so much different after watching other models. I would suggest watching models to learn more of the environment you would feel comfortable with. Technical things come with time and meeting other helpful members. I learned so much from other MFC members about what its like on the premium member side and things they have learned from other models that they can even help you with technical things. A lot of anon tips also gave me tips in the beginning (like the @remain).

i think the game i mentioned could help on MFC especially in rooms without a lot of high tippers (but even my high tippers get into it). It can be hard to get people into it sometimes, but when the game starts going well, you are constantly doing something to keep viewers interested, which will also draw in new viewers when they see you having fun in your chat. but i know, sometimes MFC can be like pulling teeth trying to get viewers to join in the conversation. and i still struggle with that, but everyday i gain more and more regulars. i guess you just have to be persistent, cam often with a regular schedule so people know when to expect you to be online, make your viewers feel welcome, but know when to take a break from MFC so you don't lose too much of your CamScore. I know you probably hear all that a lot on here, but it really can help, sometimes it just takes time :)

I'm pretty new to this world, and I totally agree about "silences" and I get frustrated if no-one talks to me. I may try the game you suggest. Thanks for the tip:)

I love it when people interact and we have some great banter (Sorry, that's British for chit-chat, back and forth)... I have a very wicked sense of humour though and sometimes that gets lost in translation :wideyed:

Hey :hello2:

Welcome new girl.
It amazes me the way guys will PM a girl to death with purely daily chit chat BS. Clear it out and Close your pm list first off... let them in sparingly or for a fee so you can at least build a room before you kill yourself over the pm thing. Many reserve them for discussing whats wanted or done in privates. Some let you in for private show 'negotiations', and then close the door right after. Also, dont be afraid to tell a member to please chat in public and save pm for personal things.
Set your own boundaries. If its not comfortable for you to show the world, dont show it. Simple as that. Time will also help you with this. As you settle in you will feel less overwhelmed with all the "see my cam BB/ wanna see me cum BB/ finger ass/fist bb" bullshit.
Also, as far as I have heard from guys on MFC, Skype is usually all about getting the girl to run wayyyy past her supposed time limit for free. Sort of a bargain basement or fire sale cheap show .... kind of a trophy to some guys here.
After you get model status here... Read, read, read.... :-D

Have fun !!
ok this was the answer i was looking for! Thank you!

I've been considering camming on chaturbate and have a few questions :)

1. Should I play music? Does it matter what kind of music I play? I've been thinking about playing 60's British rock music (The Kinks, The Hollies, Manfred Mann, The Who, The Beatles...) but I don't know if that's very suitable for camming.

2. What should I do in my first cam show? Should I start fully clothed, in my underwear or naked?

3. How low should I set my prices? I've read that new cam models should set their prices a bit low which makes sense. So how many tokens should I charge, for example, for a boob flash?

4. Should I build a fanbase before I start camming? Or will I do alright if I just get on and start broadcasting?

1-That could work. A lot of older members get turned off by new music and may prefer older music.

2 & 3- Before you start broadcasting, you should spend time watching models you identify with and emulate them for the first bit and then develop your own style out of that. Be sure to take notes.

4-Having a few people for company, keeping the public chat going and encouraging you from the very start can be a great help.

1: it is YOUR room. you can play whatever you want.
2: start fully clothed and slowly take off your clothes when you you get closer to that tip goal.
3: don't start low. look what other girls similar to you are charging and do similar. don't ever EVER undercharge yourself. you are worth every token you ask for. and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
4: your fanbase will be built quickly up the more you work. just get online and work. work as much as you can. especially with your new model status. constantly be asking people to follow you.

Don't be afraid of taking risks, of shooting for what you want. I know other models have said it, I'm just pitching in.

If you don't want to get topless for less than 2,000 tokens, don't do it. If you don't want to get topless period end, don't.

When I first started camming (on another site, then progressing to MFC), I had people asking for things all the time. I
later came to realize that all it was, in fact, was begging. That's something I don't really tolerate any longer in my room.
I was setting really low room goals, thinking that I couldn't achieve more than that because nobody was willing to meet
anything higher. If they're not? Tough luck for them, someone else will come along who WILL be willing to meet your
requests, in return for their own requests.

"I am disinclined to acquiesce to your request."

It's from Pirates of the Caribbean, but it's totally true, so don't underestimate yourself.

If you're setting low goals all the time for a public "show" or getting you naked for the internet to see, people are going to
see that as the norm for your room. So why will they want to give you a private or tip you higher, if they know that with a
few 10 token tips from other guests, you'll be naked shortly enough and without much effort on your part.

You're worth more, so make them think it and know it for yourself. It may take some time, but you will gain a following, and
you won't have to feel cheap, or seem cheap to the MFC'ers who like to pinch their tokens. Trust me, holding out for your
token goal, or chatting up a room until you get someone who has enjoyed your conversation and takes you private for 30
minutes, is a lot better than sitting naked in your room for a grand total of 600 tokens while people stop tipping because
they've already got what they want.

If you don't want to do something in public chat... for instance, last night I had people screaming up a storm for a public squirt
show, and I hadn't met a single goal yet that night (only been on for an hour), I simply asked, "Why? Because you begged for it?
I'll tell ya what, kids, give me a free cum show and I'll give you one." MFC guests can be nice, funny, and sweet... but they can
also just be horndogs who want to get off without effort. They've probably (I can safely assume) never had the job that you do,
and some don't understand that it IS a job (even though it's a fun one), thinking that you're there just to get off like they are.

So be patient, find your own limits, and don't let other people set them for you. You'll find your camming experience much more
enjoyable, and you'll also find that a majority of your regulars are the 'good guys' who can carry on a conversation, play your room
games, and also tip you without a "please, bb, i will has tkns l8er if u gimme a show now". ;)

Hope that wasn't too long or too repetetive of other posts... it's just something that I used to experience all the time, and I didn't
really enjoy camming until I found my own boundaries, limits, and goals. So... yeah. [hides in a corner]
The best advice I can think to give is just be you. If you don't feel comfortable doing something, don't hold back saying it simply because you are afraid to hurt a guys feelings. There a million more guys that will come along, and like you for you.

Definitely start charging for PMs. Some girls, most girls charge 100-200 for friends list and then allow only friends to PM you. I personally don't think this is fair to the tippers and people chatting in public, not to mention PMs can get very overwhelming and time consuming, so I charge for day passes. Some guys complain, and I tell them that maybe I am not the model for them. And others are respectful and don't try and push my boundaries.

As far as privates go, make sure to set the rules up front so both people know what they are getting into. You can set a minimum token amount in your settings (under advanced) to prevent people from lying about the amount of tokens they have. And make sure if you decide to start accepting skype shows, that you are firm when the time is up but most importantly be aware that offline tips are pink in MFC mail.

Just like in the real world, there will always be rotten people trying to take advantage and upset you, ignore them, ban them, mock them if you please. Just don't let them drag you down.

You're beautiful, you seem super friendly, let that shine through!!

And of course, welcome to the gang :)

Thank you so much! This is super helpful. Love this awesome community!!!!

@Bia a few things that helped me were putting my Twitter account on my profile here, interacting on the forum (so both models and members get to know you & follow you), following lots of models, using hashtags like #thongThursday or whatever. If you cam on MFC post your Twitter link often and ask people to follow you!! Interact with other models and members on Twitter, & be personable. Don't just post "logging on now" tweets -- show your personality :) and @VeronicaChaos pointed out a long time ago how smart it is to take a selfie every time you're about to log on & then tweet it with your "logging on now" tweet. This helped me get a lot more attention on Twitter :D

Genius!!

To make it look nice:

go to your model admin.
Under the green "my profile" heading, second to last is "customize profile". Go there.

Choose a background, and font colors, and font sizes. Check it in the preview at the bottom to make sure it looks good. Save.

To add pictures to your profile albums:

go to your model admin.
Under the green "my profile" heading, towards the middle are "upload photos" and "manage photos". Manage lets you create a new album, and set passwords to the albums. Most models have at least one free set.

to host a picture on your model admin without it showing on your profile:

upload the picture, but don't choose an album to put it in. From your model admin "manage photos" area, click on the pic, then click on it again. Copy-paste the stuff in your address bar and save that somewhere. That's the link to the picture.

to insert a picture into your profile text

use
Code:

(Just in case, I'm sure you already knew this, but some people might not, "URL" means that thing in the address bar of the website. So the URL for this forum is https://www.ambercutie.com/forums/)

Have fun!

So I created two images for my Tip Menu and Room Rules, I tried to do this however it doesnt work. It shows broken image icons in the profile :/

Hey guys, I am/was a model on MFC, but I wasnt active for a while and now I am thinking about starting over on another site. Which one do you suggest? There are a lot of them, not sure which one to choose.

does anyone know how to set up direct deposit on my free cams ? ive been trying to figure it out for days im completely new and have no clue what im doing i need all the help i can get

So happy to have found this site, I have been considering being a cam model for a while now and feel camera shy. I was considering putting up video clips and photo sets up for sale first on Chaturbate or MyGirlFund, instead of jumping straight into camming. Does anyone know if that it even worth doing, money wise, since I have never cammed? Also any tips to be more comfortable infront of a camera? :)

Hi everybody,

First of all I am so glad to have found this forum with all these gorgeous and sweet girls! I hope you don't mind my questions.
I am very new to camming. I've thought about it for a long time but never did it (was married, had a baby and was uncomfortable with my body for a while etc. etc.), and now that I'm newly single and could use some extra $$$ next to my part time bartending job I thought why the hell not? It seems like fun :)

So I signed up for MFC, got accepted and went online last night to kinda see what the drill is and how this stuff works, and I found myself a little overwhelmed and not really knowing what to do, so I'm hoping you girls can help me out!
A lot of guys started privately chatting to me, and most of them wanted Skype sessions to which I declined, I'm not doing Skype sessions, or at least not yet. So how do you get someone to go into private session with you? How do you politely discuss before hand what you do and don't do? And how far did you go when you started out? It made me a little nervous to have all these guys talking to me. I don't have any sextoys, and I'd love to hear some experiences because it seems so weird/different to suddenly play with myself in front of a cam. How do you set/find your boundaries?
Also, when I was chatting the mic kept going in between no volume/low volume, I can't seem to find what the problem is because I have a Mac with an automatic built in cam and mic so it should just work?
Sorry for all these super basic questions but I'd really love to hear your first time experiences, so that I can develop myself a little more in this webcamming world :)

Thanks so much! I look forward to your answers :)
Welcome!

"A lot of guys started privately chatting to me, and most of them wanted Skype sessions to which I declined, I'm not doing Skype sessions, or at least not yet."
I personally make PM's friends only and charge 100tkns to be added to my friends list. That 100tkns also goes to my countdown to get me naked or play a game. Some girls just put guys they like and get to know on their friends list, others leave it open.

"So how do you get someone to go into private session with you?"
I say something like, "Is anyone up for a private? First/last cum of the day!"

"How do you politely discuss before hand what you do and don't do?"
I have it on my profile and I ask them to read it before hand.

"And how far did you go when you started out?"
I use to just get naked, no pink, spread legs, etc. Now I show pink, spread legs, and rub my clit till orgasm. No penetration.

"I don't have any sextoys,"
Just go old fashion with your hand!

"and I'd love to hear some experiences because it seems so weird/different to suddenly play with myself in front of a cam. How do you set/find your boundaries?"
Whatever FEELS right.
Also, whatever you don't mind your parents, future kids, friends, etc. to see. Because it can happen.

"Also, when I was chatting the mic kept going in between no volume/low volume, I can't seem to find what the problem is because I have a Mac with an automatic built in cam and mic so it should just work?"
It says no volume when you are not talking, because it's not picking up on anything. If you play music, it should stay at low volume.
Welcome!

I know this is a bit off topic, but I don't know who or where to ask. I've met this guy, and he wants me to skype with him, and dominate him on cam. This is very new to me, and I've tried sexting before but that's as far as my experience goes. I'm not used to being bossy and mean, something he wants, and I would really appreciate it if someone could give me some tips on what to do with him on skype. xx

Have fun !!
What is an appropriate amount to charge for PMs?

but know when to take a break from MFC so you don't lose too much of your CamScore. I know you probably hear all that a lot on here, but it really can help, sometimes it just takes time :)

What is everyone's rule of thumb for this? I am trying to do 8-1AM EST right now, but by 11:30 things seem to die off. I want to work as much as possible as I am new to MFC and want to build a following and I don't have any flexibility in when I can work (so trying different times of day doesn't working for me).

How long do you wait until you log off, a half hour without a tip? How long of a break would you take? And what do you say when you log off? I was thinking something like, I'd love to hang out all night, but I need tips to do so... I'll be back in 20 mins." I hate to mention money - but at the end the day, I need to be paid and want to avoid my camscore dropping any lower, AND at the same time stick to a consistent schedule... hard to do all those things at ONCE. ;) Any advice is much appreciated!! TIA
