Circling back to this thread, because I queried earlier in it about the need for age verification if, as a user, you broadcast your password-protected room to a model as a C2C during a private.
I followed up on that scenario with CB Support, and this is the response I received:
In order to broadcast any type of show, password or otherwise, you will need to complete the age verification process at
http://chaturbate.com/identity/. Once this process has been completed, you will be able to broadcast a password-protected show for a specific user or fellow broadcaster.
I've now verified on the platform, and am really glad that for all the times I've done this over the years, I was fortunate to not get banned - or worse, cause any problems for the model I went private with.
Thank you to the models here that commented and raised enough concern in my mind that I asked support for clarification.
(and
@punker barbie I think it'd be great if the wording on the 'broadcast yourself' page on an unverified user account reflected this requirement, and said something like "you must be age-verified to
broadcast" rather than "you must be age-verified to
receive tokens")
Edit to add, even the wording in the verification confirmation email I just received needs to be amended IMO - it currently says this:
Please ensure that only you will appear on camera, unless the other individuals also submit
age verification on your account. If other individuals are to appear on your camera, you must have them complete age verification. Failure to do so will disable your ability to earn tokens until we receive their submission.
Surely the last sentence should read "Failure to do so will disable your ability to
earn tokens broadcast until we receive their submission." ??
