Hello,

To start, my names Alex, I'm new to the community but I love cam girls and everything that they do :) major respect to all the models out there, whatever sex or shape or size.

I got curious about getting into the porn industry a while ago and just started looking into how everything works. I found a girl on instagram, Jessica, who was looking for a new camparter and after messaging back and forth for a while she asked if I would be her partner on camera. I agreed of course, because how can I resist a beautiful woman? And she sent me a link saying I needed to register a name before we could meet. She said there was a fee of 1.95 to register and when I get the link it is a registration for several different online sites, including campartners and mature online affaires or something of the sort. I'm just having a hard time figuring out if this is legit because she was very convincing over text, she even sent me a photo of her holding a paper with my name on it as I requested to ease my worries.

Does this just sound like a scam or do models really find their partners on Instagram? If it is a scam how does a young 22 year old break into this business? Solo vids, major companies, etc.?

You pobably won't get to fuck her yeah. 2$ scam? It's strange to even have a registration fee, could you post pics of the form and the websites?

Her message was:

"<< ok babe here is my link. All you have to do is to create a name inside so that my company will recognize you as my next partner on my show. After that take a screenshot of it.."

I know most adult films do entail strangers having intercourse but this still seemed weird. Are sites like Instagram and tinder really used to find cam partners or is there a kind of interview/screening that actual companies do to have male cam partners readily available? Is it true that you have to know someone to get into the business as a male for stricktly male on female productions?

With 100% certainty, this is a scam. They don't want your $1.95. They want your credit card number. Don't do it.

From what little I have seen so far, everyone in the porn or webcam industry finds vendors or partners by word of mouth of people they know really well and trust. They would never put up an Instagram account looking for random dudes.

This is a scam. There are NO legit cam sites that will charge you anything to sign up. You should also be put off by the fact that this girl didn't seem interested in shit that would actually matter, like verifying that you're over 18 and STI free.

I think you are under the impression that porn and camming work the same way, and they do not at all. In porn, you show up to a work site, there are directors, a film crew, etc., and there is a company that has reviewed each performer's info to ensure that both parties are clean. The other actor doesn't need to know your name, address, or really anything about you. There are other people around that will hopefully ensure that everyone is on good behavior.
In camming, most Western cam girls work from their homes and are fully self employed. If we wanted to cam with a partner, we'd have to let him into our homes and show him our test results. He'd immediately get our real name, address, and date of birth. Most likely, there would be no one around to supervise and protect us should you have bad intentions. For reasons like these, I would be very surprised if there are any independent cam models that work with any male talent other than close male friends and irl significant others.

No, neither. Most female cam models neither need nor want a male partner on cam. There are a lot of very good reasons for this, but I'm not going to go into it here. As I said, if they did want one, they'd go for someone they already know and trust. If you got on cam as a solo male and proved yourself to be exceptionally talented in terms of cock control and chemistry with the viewers, and if you developed a good relationship with a nearby physical cam studio (in the US they are few and far between), they might mention you to their female models as a good male talent for the occasional b/g show. Even so, I'd think that would take a long history of proven performance, finding a studio, and hoping the girls there are even interested in b/g and don't already have a SO that can do the job.
If it is a scam how does a young 22 year old break into this business?
Some possibilities: start as a solo cam model (you would be catering to male viewers); start as a solo clip maker (also catering to male audiences); date in real life and secure a girlfriend that is open to sex work and float the idea to her; decide to pursue porn, do research, and find a reputable adult acting agent to represent you. If you are relatively hot and reasonably knowledgeable about kink, you could apply directly to kink.com (https://www.kink.com/page/become-a-model), but be aware that you are unlikely to be hired or paid much if you aren't willing to forgo pussy and take a dick/strap-on/pain/humiliation.

try Fetlife but just like I say to EVERY dude.. Go solo: make a clip store and sell content, get a name for yourself THEN reach out to girls.. An established cam model or new cam model is not going to split her money with some random dude period. Especially when solo cam girls make way more than B/G. Look at MFC: the top 20 girls make more than on any other site.. Im sure you understand because its ALL female with no dudes. I'm not saying there is no money in B/G camming all I'm saying is as an established model girls who cam solo will make more money. Your best bet is to meet a girl who is open to camming or try fetlife. Streammate and Clips4sale is great for solo dudes. My husband has run a very successful c4s store for 2 years now.

lol $1.95 for registration fee to cam? Yeah this is text book trying to get your credit card number. You mind sharing us "Jessica's" IG?

That link is to look for hotties in your area. That is not a camsite sign up. And when you remove the rest of the path of the link to circularplug.com, doesn't appear to be an adult site.

And they use a Panama country to hide their whois:
https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=circularplug.com

and this is the biggest red flag:

Just curious where we can look to see that the top 20 girls on MFC make more than any other site? That shocked me actually.

I did that search before I asked this question. I found a screenshot of that 2015 glitch where MFC accidentally revealed the earnings of the top performers back to 2009. That showed the top earners around $100K/month. All of that begged the question do the top 20 on MFC make more on MFC than on CB or other sites. The question was not do the top earners make a lot of money. That I knew before I found the accidental top 250 disclosure. The claim I was trying to study was that they made more on MFC than on other sites. We don't need to discuss that here and if I stay curious and cannot locate anything based on additional searches, I will start a different thread.

Well, as you already know, that information was LEAKED to the public via the glitch. It is unlikely that you will find many cam performers publicly posting their earnings, much like in any other field. But good luck with your thread.

Yes, MFC's top performers earn more than those on other cam sites.

Scaaaaaam.

Sorry, but most cam girls aren't interested in camming with strange men who have 0 experience in the industry. That should have been your first red flag, tbh.

I look at people asking about how much a cam model makes as beyond reasonable.
It's like when someone would ask me how much I make. I would tell them "It's none of your fucking business."
There are some things that are not anyone's business (with the possible exception of the I.R.S.).

Except no one asked how much webcam models make. And definitely no one asked what a specific webcam model makes. Someone made the *relative* claim that the top 20 make more on MFC than on other sites. I was just asking what is the proof of that relative claim. I believe the claim. I am only asking what is the proof.

We talk amongst ourselves.

Why are you so constantly nosy about the inner workings of the industry? Just relax and jerk off, geeze.

If you need "proof" you don't know anything about this industry and should probably stop asking/wondering things that don't even pertain to you. Anyone here knows that the Top MFC girls make more than any other site.. IF you don't know that then you have been living under a rock and should just spend time watching cams, see what the girls get tipped.. THEN you can compare the tips from MFC/CB and see that MFC would dominate. Streammate is not what it used to be and top girls do not pull in what a top MFC girl makes.. All other sites are NOT comparable..

Now if you want to talk production/clip making your now throwing in more numbers.. Im not going to say what the top C4S chick/production company makes but it's more than most cam sites minus MFC. There is money in content making. Sites like IWC/MV and C4S - but again this is really something that would only be useful for models and you are not a model and none of this matters, not to you anyways.
