I'm just curious whether you models would prefer a premium member to check your
room out under guest instead of their premium account when they are not sure if they
will be tipping you or not. I've noticed posts where you discuss premiums sitting in
your room with tokens and not tipping while they wait for their model or whatever.
Does it make a difference to you either way? Hmm, just to qualify a bit more I'm
speaking of premiums who have a reasonable score, tokens showing or all hidden.
Not the obvious $20 premium.

Now, I'm not advocating lurking here. I'm just looking for a discussion as to what is
the lesser of two evils so to speak. I've just noticed some threads complaining
about people coming to rooms not tipping. Also, I often see animosity between
premiums and guests (when not muted) which personally I find hilarious to watch.

Lastly, I know there's the lounge which is a great option and should certainly be used
much more. The problem with the lounge is lack of ability to interact with the model
or the room. Please leave the lounge out of the discussion for this reason.

No
I mute guests within the first 10mins of camming.
I like having a talkative fun interactive room.
Therefor...if you are perving under as a guest you can not talk/interact with me...
So you would be having the same problem that you have in the lounge.

I don't have a real preference. I'd say that so long as you're not lurking in guest mode just to get out of ever tipping, it's no big deal. It gives you a chance to see how a model interacts with her room (and be able to see the chat at the same time) and decide if you like her/want to tip.

I perv as a guest all the time. I don't always want to chat, sometimes I just want to observe and learn. Sometimes I don't have tokens and won't log in as a premium if I absolutely can't tip.

If a premium doesn't intend to at least chat with me, then yes, I prefer that he watches as a guest. If he's trying to "get a feel for the room," he can still do that as a guest. Then when he decides he's ready to chat and/or tip, he can log into his premium account. When you enter a person's home and stay there for several minutes, you wouldn't just sit there and play The Staring Game. You would at least say something like "Hi, how are you? This is a beautiful house you have here." :)

I would never enter a model's room under my premium account and just sit there in silence.

If he DOES intend on chatting, then yes, I would like for him to visit me under his premium account so we can chat.

I feel that models are under more pressure to perform for premium members - even if the premium member may never tip.

If there is a member who is not going to tip, for whatever reason, I would rather him be a basic so I don't get "premium anxiety" and feel pressured to entertain him.

So I see a few ladies are saying that the premium should at least chat with them. I
think this is quite reasonable. Is there a point where you expect them to start tipping
eventually or is it ok as long as they are good with the flow of your room?

Yes. I'm not asking for a lot. I understand that everyone has different financial situations. If you are bragging about being a millionaire, lots of reward points, in my room everyday, chatting away, never tip me, fuck you. Seriously, fuck you. If you are a broke college kid, in my room everyday, chatting away, and when you can, you throw a 10tkn my way, thank you. It's all about what you can do. If you can't give anything, ever, cam sites are not for you no matter how great of a conversationalist you are.

Oops accidently thanked the post under when I meant to thank this one, oh well can't take it back now

This is pretty much how I feel. If a memeber doesn't intend to tip I would prefer that they stay in basic mode. When a member is premium and chatting I will feel pressure to perform and please them in the hopes that there will be tips in it for me, and when a premium says that they won't be tipping it kind of makes me feel bad. If you hang out as a basic at least I know there's no pressure, and we didn't have to deal with the awkward conversation about it.

OK, not a model, but I do have something to contribute.

I believe you are talking about checking out a room to see if it is compatible with what you are looking for, not being a constant lurker. If I have that correct, the following applies, if not, disregard.

If it is a model that has 100+ people in the room, 20 or more of which are prems, then lurking for a few minutes as a prem should not be a problem.

On the other hand, if a model has 8 in the room and only one, or no other prems, if you just want to check things out, better as a guest.

Well i don;t quite care if there is a prem or a basic or a guest the one i am talking to as long as he is nice or interactive.
I leve basics unmuted as long as i can untill i feel too attacked or overwelmed by bad words.

For some reason i can't see the guest chat for a few months now but before that i was doing the same with guests.
In the end basic or premium they are both people and must be treated alike since i have the same request from both too.
I don't think is too much to ask or give.

In the end if is about tips....well if the guy likes u he will tip u anyway...no matter is basic or prem.

I should say though that i don't usually have many people in my room and they are even less talkative so i can afford to invest the same amount of time in any type of mfc member.

To be completly honest...If i would have a decent camscore and more ppl in my room that i can handle i think i would give more atention to the premium talking.

I actually prefer the lurker to be premium. A few reasons for this.

1. If they're already on their premium account, it's going to be easier for them to tip if they want.

2. If they have any questions, I'd like them to be able to ask me. I do let basics talk, but I also tend to be a little smart towards them.

3. I can hide the room list if people watching and not tipping/talking is bothering me.

4. It used to be hard on my self-esteem, seeing 30-40 guests and basics, and 2 premium members. (I wouldn't know about now, since I've only been back on MFC one night, and I hid the in-room guests. Though, the pm list wouldn't stay minimized.)

Speaking as a girl who is never on the 1st page (unless you search by alphabet, or have a ton of countries blocked) I would love people to chat more. I usually have around 20 people in my room with maybe one guy chatting at a time. Most of my guys tip me big once a month, but most of the time they tend to be broke. I don't mind if they are broke, but if no one's chatting plus I haven't received tips within an hour...yeah that makes me want to shoot my monitor. It can get very boring for models. I used to do things online all the time while on cam to keep me from being bored. Then I found that the more I type/seem like I'm not paying attention they would leave (even though they weren't typing anything to me). This is for me the biggest reason I don't normally stay on for more than 3 hours at a time. I try to make myself work a total 8 hours a day, but it gets seriously old fast. If you're worried that she'l feel pressure basic accounts are free then if you want your model friend to know it's you it'll be easier than guest123456 or whatever. Plus from what I've noticed the more chatting there is the more tips there are. If the room is dead with no chatters, and the girl's not talking it's not exactly a magnet for tokens.

I PERSONALLY prefer that if someone is NOT going to participate in ANY way in my room, by not talking/contributing to the conversation [by participating, that doesn't mean just saying hi/nice tits/haha, etc... or dumb shit or posting emotes] OR tipping a small amount... That they guest. I personally see no reason for a Premium member to be in my room, if they're going to silently lurk for 15 + minutes without talking or tipping. && I tell them that... If they don't want to participate in any way, they've got some choices:

A: GTFO.
B: Talk, tip or GTFO.
C: Sign out && GUEST.
D: Watch from the lounge, so I don't know they're there.

I have a Premium account. I use it quite a bit. I do NOT go into models' rooms unless I am goint to talk, or tip. I guest. A LOT. For instance, there are about three models I guest on a regular basis, because I like to listen to them talk. So, when I am getting ready for MFC, or editing content, etc, I will leave their rooms up. When I am NOT busy, I sign in, && talk to them, or tip them.

I personally feel it is damn fair to ask that people at least say fucking HI after being in my room for 15 mins. I can't think of ANY model who enjoys a room of 15 or more members, && nobody is even talking to her, even when she's trying to engage her room. It sucks, && it's the guaranteed fastest way to make me sign off after being online for 15 minutes.

This forum always makes me feel like the strange one.

I don't mind lurkers at all. They're not demanding, they're not disruptive, they're not posting emotes of creepy cartoon cock. On the whole, they're a quiet, low maintenance crowd. I figure that if they want to interact, they will. Or they'll whisper something in a tip note.

And I don't have a preference when it comes to how someone lurks. I usually keep my eyes on the chat, so I don't usually notice who's in my room until they speak up.

interestingly, I feel exactly the same in reverse if I'm a premium with no tokens lol! I have "model anxiety" and feel psychological pressure to tip even though I can't! Which is why I avoid MFC on those days, or watch from the lounge, or just pop in for a chat (if she's having a slow day, some models like this some would prefer tokenless guys not log in at all, whole 'nother topic here).

I feel the need to point out, I've actually stuck to this whole "hide who's around" thing. I minimize the room list, I minimize my friend's list completely. This way, if a friend is on and they don't want to watch, I don't notice. When I look at my room count, I have no clue if they are guests, basics, or premiums, so I don't feel pressured to entertain and don't feel dejected if there's "no one" around to entertain. But, I've only done about 4 nights since I've been back on MFC. We'll see how this progresses!

Same here. I'll pop in for a chat but only stay for a 10-15 minutes tops then watch from the lounge or move to some other models room.

The irony here is that the "premium" status has so little value on MFC that many people are willingly downgrading their status.

It is unimaginable that If I was platinum frequent flyer status, that I say naw just treat me the same as Joe on his once a decade flight. Same thing is is true for a platinum status at a hotel or casino, I'll ignore the shorter lines that reward the high spending customers, I'd rather just be a anonymous.. Going to popular club, where you are VIP member, just show them your driver license and not your VIP card. But not on MFC who cares if you have 10,000 reward points better off lurking as guest if you don't have tokens. :-x

:text-yeahthat:

I typically don't pay much attention to my room count so I rarely notice lurkers, and I have no problem with them when I do notice them. Some people just aren't chatty or are busy with other things and use MFC as background noise. As far for tipping, some members tip you the second they decide they like you, while others hang out with you for a few days before surprising you with a big "you're fun!" tip. As long as the chat is busy and fun, and as long as I'm making enough to maintain my camscore, I'm happy. Lurk away, lurkers!

I have no issue with premiums who don't tip. Nobody is obligated to tip me, ever - I ask for stuff, and if they decide they want to tip for it, then they will. It's free to come in the room and watch, and I don't get annoyed or angry at those who watch and don't tip.
Of course I'd PREFER tipping, but - as I said - they signed no contract, they are not obligated in any way, I have done nothing for them yet. Thus I have absolutely no right to be displeased with them for violating a rule that doesn't exist.

Now I know this doesn't really apply to me as I'm NEW, but as far as what I've experienced...
This is what i (sometimes) do..

1. let basics & guests talk for few mins...get convo going
2. let premiums know i'm taking privates
3. Make sure they mfc mail me about scheduling privates...
4. encourage premiums to get a group going if they don't want to just do private...

Anything goes, guests and basics help get the flow going. Anything you do and if grabbing many attentions whether guests, don't feel bad, I'm pretty sure anyone being there you have grab their attention in some way. Maybe i'm a bit optimistic, but that is how I like to look at guests and basics...they're good incentives because sometimes premiums are careful about their tokens and if you're relaxed, it helps the atmosphere around you too & then maybe they'll tip! And guests and basics will want to sign up and get tokens...and it helps the chain reaction on both ends as model and everyone else...

Be yourselves, don't hesitate to mfc mail the model with any question, you could both hit the jack pot

If I am lurking in a model's room, it is because I do not know her very well and am still trying to get a feeling for the room. And this may actually take quite a while. If the model decides to ban me for this, that tells me all I need to know.

PS The best way to get me out of lurking mode and participating in the room is to simply say hello in free chat.

Do you mean for the model to say A) "Hey, ComicOzzie!" or B) "Hey, guys!"

Guys will often exit the room quickly when a model says hi to them. I've seen this happen A LOT...in other models' rooms as well. And I know we (models) have even had a discussion about that.

I know that I can say hi to my regulars by name, and they'll be nice enough to answer me back. But often times, when it's a new guy in the room, me smiling and saying "Hey, ThickMeat!" would just result in him leaving my room quickly. It's like he's thinking "Oh, shit! She caught me! Gotta go!" Geez...excuuuse me for trying to use good manners.....

So lately, I've just been saying "Hey, guys!" instead, and the only people I greet by name are the guys who I know won't run away from me (regulars).

I don't mind either way- no-one is obligated to tip me.

I would really hope that they contribute to the conversation, as talking to no-one drives me crazy and I eventually sound like an old lady talking to her cats if I am on there too long with silence.

What does drive me nuts- prems who come to my room and repeatedly hang out there the whole time I am on, while they say nothing and tip nothing too- you aren't obligated to do either, but when you sit there every night watching but NEVER say anything, not even a hi, it will annoy me!

Well, if they take off after you say hi I would assume they are guys that probably wouldn't be tipping anyhow. So if they jet it's no skin off of your back. What if you sent a PM to say hello to new people? I think it's more personal and doesn't put them in the spotlight. Then you can transition them into your chat room. Just a thought lol...you're the professional not me :D

I've got three who come in to faithfully watch me every time I am on...

so much love... except they never say anything and never tip.

I'm a bit of a troll, and I am waiting for the week mark to send them a message:

I love your admiration, but free wankys only last a week... conversation was the cure!

And wam with the banhammer. LOL
