Heya. Still needing help with this.

Just a couple of things that help me really when i have problems. I often get problems playing fb games using flash and it is the extensions that cause the problems.

1. Suggest you reset IE back to factory default. To do this go to tools>internet options>Advanced> and click reset.
(this will reset all settings back to default)

2. Next check the extensions on laptop/computer. To do this go to tools>internet options>Programs and click Manage add-ons.
(In there you should see a flash addon.(shockwave flash addon) Make sure this is enabled. and make sure there is only one of them called Flash. Having 2 flash addons installed sometimes causes a conflicting error so stops loading page half way through..

Let me know how you get on with both of those :)

Jblackbean2 :)

No Flash addons are showing up there. :|
I think he's talking about Internet Explorer, which you've said you aren't using. Lots of us don't touch IE with a 10 foot pole. :D

Sorry yes i was speaking about IE. I mis read somewhere. What are you using instead then?
Yes, I did all that in IE. There are no Flash addons there.
I use Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Usually Firefox.

Yes.

Sorry then i am out of ideas. The only other suggestion i have is that the computer/laptop has received a update that it dont like.

Can try to rollback the computer to a previous date to when it was working.

Start> All Programs> accessories> System tools> and click system restore. Folllow it through and pick a date.

Are you under 18 and your mom blocked porn for you?

I'm so sorry I just had to make that joke.

Like Megansdude said, 20 GB free is not a lot of space these days. Hell, my iMac gets all 'the startup disk is out of memory to run programs' on me when I have 90 GB free.

Follow his suggestion and move as much as you can to an external hard drive. ESPECIALLY media (pictures, music/sound, movies). If you can free up at least 20 more GB, then run your defragging tool for your hard drive in Windows. You'll want at least the same amount freshly freed up as you currently have to allow it to work faster. I've often found that fragmentation of files can cause issues, and making them contiguous often helps them out. It will also actually free up a little more space, as well, when it is done.

This may not help your MFC problem, but overall your computer will seem to run faster and smoother when you do this. Especially if you haven't done it in a while, or ever.

EDIT: also, just go to bed or do something else while it defrags. Depending on the size of your hard drive, it could take all night.

Before you defrag, delete any files in any temp folders. that'll help with the cleanup.

Easiest way to do this is to use Disk Cleanup. Also empty out recycling bin, those files are taking up space!

I do not, however, suggest you delete the system logs or error logs, because you might need those if you end up needing to take it in to be professionally gone over.

But yeah, if you don't have enough space on your harddrive, the website may not be able to put it's cookies in place to let you see it. Thus, it won't load properly. So.. do you have the same problem if you go to streamate?

"I spoke to somebody about speed today, and he says for streaming cams on MFC, 1 mbps is enough, and an upload speed of 0.5 mbps is enough."

I'm surprised that 1 Mbps is enough for him. I'm writing from my holiday home with 3 Mbps connection and MFC wouldn't even open, and I used to have 5 and it would hang just like described. Back home I have 20 Mbps and no problems at all. So I guess between 3 to 5 Mbps is a shaky area, at least for me.

Out of curiosity have you had the issue where you chagrin freezes up? Whenever I use the browser broadcaster this always happens. Members have been getting mad because I won't answer them and leave.

If I use the software, it's perfectly fine but my audio and cam quality immediately plummet. Fml... Is this happening to anyone else?

- I've downloaded CCleaner and ran it. I managed to free more space, I have 27,1 GB free on my hard drive now (it was 13 GB before). The result: My computer runs a little faster, but the MFC problem persists AND I lost all my browser histories and Add-ons. :-x
- I'm planning to buy an external hard drive soon even though by now I'm sure the free space has nothing to do with MFC.
- On Streamate I can watch cams perfectly!
- I'll try doing a defragmentation next.

@MyDesertRose
My feed doesn't freeze, but the chat in my room stops updating. I close and reopen the broadcaster and all of the chat and the userlist are gone - like in the screenshot in my first post in this thread, only in my own room and not someone else's.

Something I forgot to mention I think -
when I can get a model to load, her feed is often extremely choppy and her voice and picture freezes every 10 seconds for half a second or so.

I'll also suggest making sure your Windows (since I am assuming you are on Windows) is up to date on its patches. Again, it might not help your MFC issue, but it will help your computer, overall.

Sounds like maybe MFC is using something your ISP doesn't like... maybe find out from your isp if they've blocked any sites or ports on their side?

Are you still having the same issues? If it's fixed, I'm curious to know what you did just in case I run into the same issues at a future date. You are a great lady to know by the way. :)

Sorry for not reporting back, I should have done that...
Now that I have 28GB free on my hard drive, I've been having the issues with the chat and user list disappearing way less often. But the models' feeds are still choppy in general. I'm going to record a bit of a Aedan's feed (with her permission) and show it to you guys.

I was having choppy feeds in the rooms on my friends list and none of the other rooms. I reset my modem, my wireless router, and cleared my cache in chrome. One of those things seems to have fixed it for me.

@Shaun,
I've actually tried those things, too! :/
I reset my router AND modem a couple days ago and it didn't change anything.

Here you go... (the video is not listed so only people with the link will see it, and I asked her permission of course.)

Honestly, anytime shit is fucked for me with anything regarding Flash, I roll back to Chrome version 19

and it's all good.

The MFC broadcaster has suddenly decided to inform me that it's a Mac thing with Chrome 23 and 24 and that I should use Firefox but honestly I have just as many probz there. So, me and version 19 get all snuggly instead. :snooty:

That is what was happening to me, but only in the rooms on my friends list. I also told chrome to stop guessing what I was going to do next in the settings. I was worried it may have been doing weirder things on MFC then I was.

This applies to Chrome based browsers only but works for some people.

In address bar type about:flags

Then look for dropdown box GPU compositing on all pages
Change from default to Enable

Look for Threaded compositing
Change from default to Enable

Restart browser and see if helps
