Hey everyone. So I took a long break because of traveling and then some unexpected health issues. I had to have surgery and still in recovery. I hope to get back online soon and decided to pop on after selling some MFC Share vids to thank purchasers. I logged onto skype and a friend told me that there is a new law stating that no explicit anything can happen in Skype now and they can see / hear what you say and do now. Is this true? How is this going to change the camming industry? Is there any other avenues other than Skype? How are we getting around all this?

Hope you are all happy and healthy!
xoxo

Thankfully Disord has clarified that (for now at least) it's supporting private NSFW content/shows.

Updating, sorry for the double posting. It took me a little bit, but Microsoft sent an email with their updated TOS which brings you to this link:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/servicesagreement/upcoming.aspx

This will be in effect on May 1st 2018. The part where it says about nudity, pornography etc is at Code of Conduct. What’s is weird to me is that at that same part under enforcement, they say instant message service, but I can only think of Skype as MSN messenger has been shut down for years. They are trying to clean their face because of SESTA/FOSTA but that will also affect Xbox because you can’t use offensive language. I’m glad to be a PS owner, forever hearing people cussing their mom lol

So sad because yesterday I had 30+ men ask me if i was doing skype. Then later on someone bought skype for the first time ever from my manyvids page. All these men are going to have their accounts banned and it sucks but i'm kind of laughing on the inside too.

  • Sorry to hear that.
  • Funny!

I don't think this is going to be a problem for most, as long as they are discrete.

"Microsoft told The Register it does not listen to Skype calls, which is good to know. But the Windows giant added that it may examine private files and conversations that potentially breach the code-of-conduct if the biz receives a complaint from someone, be it a Skype chat or an email, etc. ... [my emphasis]

"Microsoft insisted it won't actively police its services and randomly delve into your stuff – but, beware: it will investigate complaints from people offended by what you do on Redmond's platforms in public."

The major changes in Microsoft TOS had to do with X-box live not Skype. No pornographic or obscene material has been part of the Skype TOS for a long time. The main change was prohibiting offensive language on Xbox live so no excessive trashing your CS opponents.

Bottom line Skyprivate who's whole business model involves selling sexy Skype isn't worried about the changes so I don't see why a cam models who sell a handful of Skypes via Manyvids, or MFC should be concerned.

How are people going to play Halo now? When I had roommates who played it, it was just a constant stream of insults from both sides.

It is a damn good question. I think people are just going to have to learn to be creative in their insults, no more bitch, motherfucker, asshole, dick face. Personally, I vote for using Trump as a curse word. So mothertrumper, trumphole, trump face etc.

I'm 100% behind this change.

ugh... it's stuff like this that really stresses me out! I haven't heard of anyone losing their accounts or whatever yet. So, I'm going to worry about other stuff for now. /but I'll be watching this thread! ..:cyclops: o_O

I'm actually not too broken up about Skype banning nudity etc... I think it's really annoying having guys constantly asking for Skype videos.
It is annoying for members to constantly see it in chat too. Especially when the model has that info in her topic/profile and has answered it multiple times already. I know it is an unfair assumption to make but given how easily guys scam models with offsite payments for Skypes I automatically think people are trying to get away with something when they ask for Skype in chat.

How are models getting scammed if they get offsite payments?
Members sending fake payment information or filing a chargeback are the methods I've heard the most about but I'm sure there are others. I know of one model that accepted Paypal for a Skype and then had the member blackmail her into free Skypes by threatening to report her account for use in sex work.

Like I said I know it is an unfair assumption but I default to members are scum and Skype without the protection of site rules are dangerous.

The scamming is bi-directional. If there were great offsite solutions then sites themselves would just become model directories and everyone would be doing offsite business.

Discord is a good solution but again it's something that needs some setup to take full advantage however since you only need to be on a friends list to conduct video chat you can also avoid managing a room altogether. The only issue I've seen so far with the discord method is if the model does create a server for herself she also allowing her members to interact with each other without her knowledge which could lead to questionable situations later.

Even using offsite directories like r/sexsells models are constantly getting booted from there after not performing once they get crypto currency. It's a running joke between buyers there the higher the amazon card surcharge the model has the more likely she's going to steal a crypto transaction.

I do skype shows for tokens only and for way more tokens than a True Private since they're taking me off site. I think this is a good option for repeat customers. It's something I like to offer as raffle prizes too.

Charging tokens is the best way, agreed. My gripe wasn't with offsite Skypes (though I'm personally not a fan) but with members that keep asking in the room when it clearly states no in the topic or whiteboard. Or the members that keep pushing for different payment methods.

I only skype for tokens... And as far as I can tell, I MAY be worried about this MS bans nudity thing for nothing. Since I was NUDE on Skype for HOURS every day for more than a week and so far, so good. I still have my Skype account, no warnings, etc. I will absolutely let you know if this changes.

I did a nude Skype show two days ago. Nothing happened. This was always in their TOS I feel like people are just noticing now.

Oh, CoffeeKnight!!!! I agree 100% !!! *HUG*

It wouldn't matter if my topic was, "don't say the word food in my chatroom!"
A ton of trolley people would say the word food, juuuuust because I asked them not to.
Sad, I know...
(Basically, I'm saying, not only do some members not even care to read the topic or whiteboard or a model's profile, but even if they do, there are those select few that want to press a models buttons possibly just to see what happens.)
Personally, I don't get it! And usually, these people aren't serious about loving camgirls, IMO. (That is, not tipping models for their time, not sucking up time, not overtaxing a model for basically nothing, etc.)
To me, they are simply trolls, which are best avoided, IMO.

I wish I could 'like' and 'agree' with this several times.

I have somewhere in between 150-210 Skype accounts at anyone time, active on roughly 80% of them per week and always violating terms and conditions of Skype. I am yet to lose one for any sharing of elicit content or showing nudity or swearing. I do however lose them for other reasons but never terms and conditions violations yet.
Why do you have that many Skype accounts

The better question is “why do you have so much spammy text in your forum signature” but I suppose that’s off topic. ;)

Nothing spammy about my advertizing. Form sigs are usually designated to some personal advertizing in the forums I use. Is this one different / special?
Lol no... yours is just obviously different than most others on this forum. If you didn’t notice that I don’t know what else to tell you.

Actually yes. ACF is probably different than other forums you use. There’s an emphasis on community and personal connections here. Not all about advertising.

So yeah yours stands out and probably turns a lot of the users here off.

You Sig is 5 separate links to 5 separate places advertising yourself. x5 more spammy than my one link advertizing my personal site with community based information included.
Lol ok then.
