Dear all

I expect to get shouted down as usual but since on another thread I keep being bashed over the head by terms and conditions of cam sites.

In an industry where most models are women why on earth would there be a rule against talking about or displaying (perhaps unintentionally) menstruation.

What prudsih society would place such oppressive rules on women that they cant even talk about it.

They could get banned for explaining to user why their performance has to change for 5 or so days a month,

Or they could be banned for accidental display of menstrual flow which often happens..

Why is this oppressive rule tolerated in society and on cam sites (as are many others in relation to legitimate erottica) and in different countries

I thought we were trying to set the word free from patriarchy.

I woud have hoped an industry dominated by women would be pushing against these rules

My understanding is it’s because of the credit card processors. I also imagine it’s off-putting to a lot of customers. Setting aside the patriarchy thing you mentioned, a lot of people are repulsed by blood.

@Gen is right. It's credit card processor rules that force these rules.
That being said it's usually not against the rules to talk about menstruation on most video sites. I do pretty well selling videos talking about my period.

However it is against the rules on at least one oppressive site - or jurisdiction

Also, if people have a problem with menstruation why are they having sex or relatonships with women (even cam sex)

So we need to change the credit card companies. They probably just reflect international laws. I know the UK has become very repressive recently

Lol, such a dramatic way to say that. Yeah, Chaturbate has a history of being very cautious about those sorts of things. It's pretty well known for having much stricter rules then MFC.

Gen said people often have problems with blood. While I think people that specifically have a problem with menstrual blood, in particular, are a little silly but there are A LOT of people out there who can't handle any kind of blood. Which is pretty fair.

There are only so many credit card processors that will work with adult sites so just "changing credit card companies" isn't so simple. So their rules must be followed. However you can talk about menstruation just can't show blood.

By change I meant that "we" the world (or maybe those in charge) have to change attitudes in society and the attitudes of companies to be less repressive.

Its now on my "to do" list

A lot of women have issues with blood, including their own. My own period grosses me out pretty often, and I’m an adult who’s used to it and is not especially squeamish. Being repulsed by bodily fluids is common and evolutionarily based.

Plus it’s an all or nothing rule because even if processors allowed it, they’d lose customers if the front page model was fingerpainting with blood.

As a woman and a cam model I don’t find this oppressive or wrong. I don’t think models should be reprimanded if it’s clearly an accident but I would never campaign to have the rule changed, and probably wouldn’t cam on a site that allowed it in public chat.

I doubt they will change the rules about blood related content and credit card processors. But good luck with that.

Gen

I know but isnt freedom about allowing everyone to do what they want. So if women don't feel comfortable they dont have to do it and if men dont like it they shouldn't be viewing it.

But surely women who want to have sex during menstruation should be allowed to do so and men who are happy to have sex during menstruation (real or cam) should be allowed to do so.

Its about freedom.

Every individual model should be free to provide her show how she likes (obviously not including truly illegal stuff) and users should be entitled to visit such models.

Its also a denial of income during some days of the year

More broadly it gets to an issue in society of sex being regarded as taboo during menstruation and most women I know on or off line like sex during their periods because they are often feeling more like sex, and there is also some scientifc evidence that sex durring periods is beneficial to cramps ad pain

So I regard it as repressive for one group to stop other people doing something that isn't illegal simply because its on a cam

All this bullshit's about your girl crying to you about her period? Man, you are on some next level white knight shit.

There are many ways girls can do shows while on their period. They hide it and it seems to work just fine. Again this is going no where.

I just mean on my todo list to gradually help to change attitudes. Every individual has to do their bit for the world to change

Blood of any kind is not allowed. So they have to include it all. Menstruation included.

I think there are way better things you could be campaigning to change rather than something the majority of people don't want to see.

Faiir enugh

Any attempt I make to discuss broader issues of sexuality in society is shut down

Do obscenity laws not exist anymore?

It’s not one group vs another group. It’s a business setting rules. This is silly.

Dude. You take everything so personally when its not. At all. No one is denying people can do whatever they want in their sex lives not on cam. have sex with girls on their period all you want.

Doesn't change the rules of cam sites and credit card processors that blood is not allowed in any form. It's just the way it is and the majority of models and members would want it to remain that way.

Many cultures have a deep, opressive view of periods: I think it would be great if women weren't viewed as 'unclean' in these cultures and that they are not held back from doing activies due to religious, cultural beliefs and ignorance of periods. That I would file under oppression. Not whether mainstream camsites should make the effort/risk of using a payment processor so people could play with period blood. (Period blood IS in fact very niche) Lots of women feel perfectly fine with period sex, some are icked out by it and some guys are freaked out from any blood period or not- either way you can't force people to somehow view it as something that is sexy/belongs in mainstream porn-it's just not going to happen. Respect/education about periods is something I strongly advocate for-but we don't really need a guy telling people with vaginas how oppressed we are and how prudish society is because you're upset period blood isn't allowed on a camsite. Sorry but you're coming off as sort of a male-feminist trying to man-splain period oppression to people WITH periods when period stuff on a camsite does not run that deep...that is probably why the discussion is annoying.

They are breaking international human rights laws, several in fact. It goes against at least two fundamental principles of international human rights charters

And if I do it in private cam with my partner using a cam site

And in many ways cam sites are becoming platforms and intrinsic part of internet service provision

I see both sides. Most people don't want to see it. Sure that's fine. Ultimately it's up to the website they are streaming on to decide if it's ok. It's their decision to allow certain things or not. End of story. I don't think it has to do with anyone being against it other than cc processors. Good luck anybody trying to change that. I don't see what much discussion there is to be had here other than yeah we are fet friendly and big cc processing hates anything dealing with sexuality. We are not trying to shut you down, I just think this is a kind of jab at a superficial discussion. Not much to be said here.

But srsly shameless plug here; if you want a period show message me on Skype theluxyreid. I will happily provide with a heavy fet and clean up fee ofc.

I say this with all the love and compassion that I can muster:
Have you considered re-entering society? (And by that, I mean getting off the internet, or at least Ch*****ate)

Hey

Thanks for the offer but I'm not into period shows as a fetish so to speak. I am talking about ongoing sexual relationship with a model or partner throughout her period without restriction from interference

You may not be, but someone else reading later might be.

We generally also know when our periods start, we use sponges beforehand if it's a risky night.

That's cool. I wasn't upset with your shameless plug :)

I was just saying that the rules actually are repressive since they prevent discussion and display of menstruation

This is repressive against a whole group in society (ie women) and goes against iinternational law on several counts

I don't think they are repressing us, though. Many sites understand accidents happen and don't make a big deal if we clean it up really fast or log off to get it fixed. If blood were allowed through cc processors though and they said you can cut yourself now on cam! But you are not allowed to period, then yes. But I think it's just easier for them to say no to all blood just for simplicity sake.

Also this just made me realize how strange bodies are. o_O what a crazy normal thing for half the population to do for about a quarter of our lives.

Plenty of people have period sex, what's this "allowed" nonsense.

They are breaking international human rights laws, several in fact. It goes against at least two fundamental principles of international human rights charters

What. The frick-frack paddy-whack. Are you talking about.

What. The frick-frack paddy-whack. Are you talking about.

I'm talking about rules on sites which are based on laws or rules from companies

That is different to what people do.

Laws and rules are repressive and also perpetuate ancient stereotypes and taboos which we are trying to destroy

And the rules are repressive and break human rights laws on several counts

As seems common on all my threads there is a major comprehension problem among some forum readers

Showing blood is prohibited. Any kind of blood. Not *just* menstruation. You also can't cut your wrists on cam, or pick a scab until it bleeds. Do people do these things in real life? Yes. Does that mean that they should be allowed to get on cam and do it? No.

I don't know where you get this notion that we're not allowed to discuss periods on cam. We can totally talk about them. But we rarely do, because people rarely ask about them. We're just not allowed to SHOW BLOOD. Of any kind. If we get a nosebleed, we can't just sit on cam with blood dripping down our faces, we have to pop off cam and stop the bleeding before coming back, much like sticking a tampon or sponge up our vagina so our uterus blood doesn't drip down our legs.

Oh, and a dig at reading comprehension, really? You're displaying quite awful reading comprehension yourself, dude.

Oh, and since you didn't answer the question the first time -

They are breaking international human rights laws, several in fact. It goes against at least two fundamental principles of international human rights charters

Exactly what laws are being broken by not allowing people to bleed on camera?

What "international human rights charters" are being violated by expecting us to keep our blood contained and not visible?
