I use “model” as a technical term, denoting the person in front of the camera without any judgment. I did a lot of photography for a while, and for me the word “model” neither implies glamour nor anything near sex industry, as MarkJanus insinuates. It just describes her role:

She is visible for the camera, thus she is the model.
-What do you do?
-I'm a model
-Hmm... OK but what do you do?.
- I'm a performer...
-Hmm OK,,but what do you do?
- I'm an entertainer...
- Hmm OK,,but what do you do?
-I'm kind of an artist you know...
- Hmm OK... but what do you do?
-Ok, fuck it... I'm a camgirl.
-why didn' you say it first?

Respecting people is being honest with them cos entering their delusion won't help with society not accepting this job... But your example is actually very good since the models you have on cam are (usually passive )subjects responding to YOUR work and indications, they're your models, you're modelling them, while camgirls are active subjects doing their own work. As a model, you're always a third party's "model",might be a designer, a photographer, a painter... Journalists are on cam and you won't call them models...

These feel good, semantical circumvolutions are fascinating but the cold reality is that you don't choose how society is perceiving you and outside of this forum and the comfort your chatrooms, the "model" term is making people laugh and is screaming delusion... No hating or trolling just cold reality.

Cam models is how cam sites refer to us, so we use it. Pretty simple.

and I agree with @schruti the way he describes it above.

No hating or trolling just cold reality.
If your only purpose here is to make comments that irritate us cam models and adult content creators, I think you should find a better place to hang out.

Nevermind the "if" and "I think" let's just be done.

Take care.

thats maybe your own 4 walls living society because where i live as a cam model i have max respect and everytime i go in any official gouvernamental office and i say that my job its webcam model i am highly respected and treated with respect and fairness like any other worker or buissness owner.

now all parts of the worls are mind limitated with the brain in the ass!
everyone that i know where i live knows what i do , and i dont must hide myself under a stone , and nobody disrespected me for my job , actually the oposite.

There will be always these 1% conservative and closed mind like you people that will laugh and think shit but thats everywhere. So do not apply your own sick brain cell left stinking of shit to SOCIETY ! because its not like you think.

And by the way in my papers writes official WEBCAM MODEL and affiliat marketing for adult industry , and nobody gives a fuck about it. Oficially its a recognized job like any other and people just dont care to judge , troll and doxx any kind of sex workers.

That guy's a piece of work. From other posts I've seen from him on here, he definitely doesn't belong here. Good riddance.

Make up... wow! hardest job in the world! Don't tell me they have to do their hair too!
I'm gonna need everyone on the viewer side who thinks hair and makeup are easy to go ahead and show me the proof, let me see you do yours. 😂 I see this OP is already gone, but it's a common enough comment. Please. Show me how easy it is. Show me your pretty face.

Well I have very little hair to worry about these days so that's a snap, but.. well yeah ok, the makeup; I might need a trowel

Agree. Sad but true.
I don't agree with that at all? "all the crazy nasty things togheter, we are called camwhores" - All of us are in the sex industry at some level. Who is any one of us to judge any other on what behaviour is acceptable as "model" behaviour and what constitutes "camwhore" behaviour?

I don't do anal on cam as my own personal preference, doesn't give me the right to shame anyone who does because that's what I deem too cam-whorish. Just like I wouldn't want to hear that a non-nude model came across my room and thought "ew, this camwhore's getting completely naked, putting us all in a bad light".

We are the last people who should be judging each other, there's enough of that coming at us from outside!

I agree with you Sashacurves. I'm not judging anybody. I agreed with the entire response overall, not everything. I meant it's sad but true that people judge us as cam models and don't respect cam models as people. For example, I was really excited to train in a jiu-jitsu class with a well-respected teacher, but then when he asked what I do for a living, I told him I work offline and on the webcams part-time close to full-time hours 30-40, depending on what's going on that week. The very next day, let's just say he politely told me that he didn't want me in his class, because not in these exact words, he felt that I wouldn't set a good example with people in the class who have families. I mostly do kickboxing and jiu-jitsu private sessions these days, and train with my MMA Bob and jiu-jitsu dolls in my home gym room, but I do occasionally do a group class with, now and moving forward, people who won't write me off as a camwhore.

I don't agree with the "all the crazy nasty things together" quote either, just the sad reality that people judge us webcam models was the point I was trying to make. Some cam models just chat not showing any nudity. Some models do anal, some don't. When I 1st joined the ACF, I unintentionally started off on the wrong foot saying some, not all models, who show nudity, are leaving nothing to the imagination. I wasn't judging them, that was just my thought at the time. I've never belittled or berated a model/s I felt was/is doing this and I never will. I've been judged on the cam sites more times than I care to admit. I also do pornos and despite being tested for HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and COVID, every 14-28 days, I've been called diseased multiple times online and a couple of times, in public. On the webcam sites, I've been called a chicken fucker, children fucker, told I should've died during the AIDS epidemic but will hopefully die of COVID instead, asked to give my dick a papercut, and last but not least, told I am going to burn in hell.

Webcam related or not, if somebody out there is judging you and/or anybody else, most likely that person has psychological and/or financial problems, but instead of dealing with their fucked up situation/s, they judge other people to feel good about themselves and that's just sad.

Man, fuck that Jiu-Jitsu teacher. Sorry that happened to you. I'm willing to bet that some of those families he's talking about consist of people who cheat on (maybe even beat?) their spouses. But he's lecturing you about "setting a good example?" Give me a break. He acts like you're gonna just pull out your cock in the middle of Jiu-Jitsu class, and start stroking it. 🙄

As for that damn "What do you do?" question...I would've just left the webcams part out. Just say you do work from home stuff on the computer...live chat...customer service. Or something like that.

Yeah I'm wondering if @Dannyhomebody realizes that the majority of us don't actually discuss our cam jobs with "civilians". If not for security/privacy but for the exact reasons he encountered.

Yes, and I feel like way too many people IRL, during an argument, would just jump right to "Well at least I don't get naked for strange men on the internet! I have respect for myself!" 🙄 Lol. Like you know they've had that one in their holster for a while.

Yes AmberCutie, I'm aware that a majority of cam models don't discuss their jobs with civilians. Hope all is well. I don't shout it to the rooftops, but I don't hide it either. If people ask me what I do for a living, I tell them. If they don't ask, I don't bring it up. I start off by saying I do online modeling. Some people can figure out the rest. Some can't.

Hope all is well yummybrownfox. Yes, I did say fuck that teacher and am now doing private Jiu-Jitsu classes with another instructor who doesn't care about the webcam stuff. If he's too good to take my money, then I find somebody who isn't. BTW, that school did close down, yes. Am I losing sleep over it? No.

I appreciate your kind words. I don't want anybody to pity me or feel sorry for me, it's just one of those, sigh, it is what it is situations.

That's one of the main reasons I don't want kids, and my husband and his friends think I'm stupid and it will never happen. But seeing as I have 55,000 pictures of myself on one site, and 51,000 on my own website, I'm sure there's more chance my content ending up in places! Especially as I've been posting pictures of myself all over the internet for the last 6 years, so it wouldn't suprise me if others have done the same.
It only really annoys me if people remove my watermark when they re post my stuff, I could do with the advertisement hahaha!

I feel sorry for the girls who live at home and their parents don't know about them being on MFC, what if their parents/family found out and they had to leave home?!

When I first started making money from pictures online I told my parents about it, but lied a little and just said it was just topless and my face wasn't shown. Then I got my own site and did camming and started making lots more money, and my parents guessed I was doing something more than topless and kicked me out coz they didn't want porn being made under their roof, lol! I didn't actually tell them it was solo and wasn't really porn, but I didn't deniy it either, so I'm not really sure what they thought I was doing haha!

My husbands parents knew what I did from the moment he got with me, which scared me as I thought they'd hate me for it too but they were okay with it. :S

If other family members found out I wouldn't really care, not like they can disown me, I really ever see them anyway. I'm an adult now, I live on my own with my husband, they can't control me or tell me what to do anymore. If they don't like it, tough titties!

I think I've gone off topic again, ooops. Sorrry. I'm sure I started on topic but drifted off as usual rambling on about random crap no one cares about haha.

Erm so yeah anyway, yeah I don't know how people can put stuff online and think only people who buy it will see it, I agree. :)
I think that's what you said anyway. I'm going to stop typing now. :)

*Edit*
Sorry I just saw what this post is about. I thought it was a post in general or something, sorry sorry sorry!
Thank you for posting this. I enjoyed your response. I do webcam modeling and porn so I understand there are some people who are family, friends, and/or acquaintances, who will not like you doing webcam work or doing nude pics. But just like you, if they don't like what I'm doing I agree, and I say tough titties too. Or I just take the more straightforward and direct approach, here I am it is what it is, take it or leave it, or if they have an attitude I just respond: Here I am and fuck you if you can't understand me. Fuck off. GTFO!!!

So I'm a cam girl to knowledge this has not happened to me yet.
However I know its a risk I've always known the risk is their my parents and my partner know what I do.
At the end of the day if you go to an office you to work you sell your brain work in a factory you sell your labor. I sell my body and I'm proud of it why should sw we anymore ashamed of what we do then someone with any other kind of work.
I stand proud by what I do. And yes I have children and the older ones and mean older teenagers know what I do and I will explain to the others as they get older.

One of my favorite quotes from this movie hits it right on the nose: "Everybody is selling something." Ruby learns this lesson when she considers getting a job at a strip club. As long as you're happy, independent and/or independent with a family, and, as long as you're not hurting yourself and/or anybody else, do what works best for you, and your/situation/s. I like your response. Thanks for posting this.

Thank you for sharing this, it's true, everyone is selling something, and of course your happiness and independence should be first, I think if you enter the cam modelling world you have to be very sure of what you are doing, because unfortunately society still has soooo many taboos and judges, so you have to be really confident so this won't matter as much.

Agree. Everybody who knows me knows what I do for a living. Due to social stigmas and taboos, no, I don't shout to the rooftops what I do. But I don't hide what I do. Wanna see my tax forms? I'll gladly show them to you. Even in the year 2022, some people just don't understand webcam modeling is a job. Sad. SMH.

Yeah ppl will hold that one back and then nail ya with it or any other weakness lol. Ppl are shit for the most part.

I'm just upfront about what i do with any potential female that I may date cuz they have to be cool with it. Its part of my income.

Models. You need to realize this right now. ANY time you put something on the internet, it is there FOREVER. It can never be eliminated, and eventually it will be found by someone who you'd rather not find it.

For example, any time you are on cam, you should assume that images or videos of that cam show will be recorded and put on the internet forever. I'm talking private shows, group shows, and ESPECIALLY public shows. It's already the case that MFC owns the rights to all of said imagery and video, and can do with it what they like.

You may not like it when members record your shows and upload them to different places on the internet, and you can try hard to get those images taken down. Sometimes you may find that you are even successful with getting an instance of something taken down. But the truth is, once it's out there it is impossible to fully retract. All it takes is one person to have saved a copy of it before it got taken down, and it can be reposted again. There is jack shit you can do about it, so it is not worth your time trying to take it down. It will only delay the inevitable, and could in fact speed it up by pissing people off and making them post it more.

A lot of models use location-block in order to block people from their hometown and surrounding area from seeing them. This is a decent short-term solution, but in the end, it's pointless. There is absolutely no way to guarantee that people from your home town will never find out. All it takes is one time for someone you know from real life to be travelling out of state and see you online, or see your pictures. It is also easy for technically-savvy people to use a proxy to get around location blocks. The point is, location block is only a temporary solution, and there are ways around it. You will be found out. It is only a matter of time.

Let's say you're super lucky, and during your several-year stint as a camwhore, you are never found by someone you know in real life. You think you're off the hook? Along with all the imagery MFC has recorded of you and could sell at any point in time, you can bet that random members (and guests!) have taken lots of imagery too. It will be on the internet forever. 40 years down the road, your kids will stumble across naked pictures and videos of you on the internet. It's going to happen. This is reality, and there is nothing you can do to change it.

The point? If you don't want your friends and family to find out you're a camwhore, then don't become a camwhore. Don't want your grandkids to see videos of you anally fisting yourself? Then don't become a camwhore. Don't want the local authorities to find out you're a camwhore? I think I'm becoming redundant here.

Do you think your real-life identity is secret? All it takes is ONE person you know from real life to find you on MFC and leak your identity. It's going to happen eventually. Hopefully it won't happen for a while, but you need to be prepared for the day when it does happen, because mark my words, it will.

Once something is on the internet, it is there forever. Making an attempt to change that fact only makes you look stupid.

I agree with everything that bawksy said. Performing intimate acts online almost guarantees it will be seen by someone other that those it was intended for.

It would add that while I certainly agree with his excellent summary:
"All it takes is ONE person you know from real life to find you on MFC and leak your identity. It's going to happen eventually. Hopefully it won't happen for a while, but you need to be prepared for the day when it does happen, because mark my words, it will."

I still think it is worth pursuing to get stuff taken down, albeit it may only be temporary. It can give the model some relief at least for a period of time while she moves on from the camming industry and gets a new life started as some models choose to do.

I have helped 4 models get stuff taken down from online which has given them some peace, yet as bawksy says, it could reappear at anytime so they will likely never be completely at peace.

I hope the fact that there is soooooo much new content of this nature appearing online every hour, the chances of old material reappearing may become less likely. I know this is a guess and the chances are still very real it could appear anytime. Yet I still think in many cases it is worth a crack at getting it removed or at least the search results removed.

Having said all that, any model would benefit from reading bawksy's post before she starts camming.

Bottom line is if it is on the internet it will be leaked out. Personally for me is not a big deal. 40 years from now I'll be dead anyway lol. My friends will think no less of me and fk the rest. Being a cam model is a job and do what you do to survive. Nuff Said.

Yeah, I've made peace with this and truly there's so much stuff out there on the internet now....it's a job.

Hardest job in the world? Really... I'll go tell that to nurses working 8 hour a day in a hospital taking care of kids with leucemia... or ukrainian soldiers right now defending their country agasisnt a dictator's invasion... Or simply that lone mother with 3 kids having 2 jobs, one in a McDonald's and cleaning shit in offices just to raise her kids... or maybe that guy working a car factory doing the same move 54545 times a day in front of a chain...
Also say hello to miners in Venezuela if you will...

Nobody says this isn't a real job and that it doesnt come with its strains... But anyone saying that working 5 hours a day at home, whenever you want, being your own boss, going on holidays every 3 months under the sun, making 3,5...10 times more cash that you would do in any oher job you could find, without needing any degree, qualification or exam (just 18 and a pussy), for chit-chatting and stripping on camera (or not even sometimes).... visibly never worked in his life...and needs a "reality check"...

"Promotion/social media" takes about 5 minutes a day (many sucessfull girls actually not doing it at all)... making a "clip" one or two hours maybe once or twice a month (most of them aren't even edited and this isn't Hollywood movies either, while many girls don't even do clips at all eitheir or just record their live shows)...

Make up... wow! hardest job in the world! Don't tell me they have to do their hair too!

And "All besides the other things like housework, sleeping, hobbies, going out, etc, etc...." You mean like anyone else on this planet with a job... or you want a medal?

There is reason why some girls chose to do this job, and that's because they don't want to spend 8 hours a day, 5 days a week in some shitty office job or some fashion shop with a manager and colleagues on their asses for 1.5K a month in the US or 700 bucks a month in Romania...

As far as "psychological strain" is concerned, I get that but I know a lot camgirls who just come on cam to offer their erotic services, don't even talk, just typing, make their cash, then logs off... They won't want to hear about your life or your problems, wo'nt bother you with theirs... no BS, no lies, no "friends" no "soulmates", no "I care so much about you, my fantastic friends I couldn't even have imagined in my wildest dreams, so help me for my rankings, house, my life"... Minimum personal or emotional investment... You know.

No no forces a camgirl to spend hours PM'ing with a bunch of lonely or deluded dudes who lost their shit for their beautiful inside and out sex worker, nor with their old rich, daddy who'll require their special attention to be glorified and empowered or he'll go pout with another girl... We all know why some girls choose to do it...

And I won't elaborate and girls coming on cam 5 times a month for maybe 2, 3 hours to park and get the brink truck filled by their daddy so she can leaves and go enjoy that cash with their real friends.. There are girls on MFC you won't see the first two or even 3 weeks of the month then making 90% of their cash out of their rankings or "real life" issues...
"Hey guys, who wants to tip me 50 thousands to be my new best tipper in history in humanity... or $5K for a day off...?

Like that non nude US cutie who grabbed 20K a few months ago for her friend on hospital who needs brain surgery (its always brain surgery, must be impressive I guess)...

Hardest job in the world...
You seem to have a jaded point of view and have never tried sex work. You’re also generalizing and assuming the ones who “type, make money and log off” are successful. This takes a ton of work and actually I knew women who opted out of it after the pandemic because they stated how hard it was. Until you try it you have no clue. Please evaluate your judgement and closed mind..it’s toxic and outdated. Also, it is ONE of the hardest jobs. You are running a business, a private contractor who makes their own schedule, disciplines themselves to show up, entertaining men and being a good conversationalist while consistently being in a good mood so they pay you and can at least absorb positive energy because the members are looking for an escape from stress. If the cam model is having a bad day, she better work to pep talk herself in a great mood. A 4 hour cam shift can feel like an 8 hour shift if retail. Not to mention it’s also psychotherapy due to the amount of men speaking about their mental and emotional health. I have had some tell me things they were most ashamed of and have never told anyone. You think it’s just porn, and you know what about 70% of it isn’t even sexual. Then there are some that just spill their shit on you, like you absorb their heavy energy and the aftercare is crucial. Detox baths, cleansing, meditation, yoga, and herbal remedies are all necessities to handle this job. Sex workers see the true side of men that are kept hidden. Taking your clothes off is the tip of the ice berg. We have been taught it’s degrading and not having respect for yourself when in fact it’s the smart thing to do if you feel confident and hot-do you know how much confidence you need to fucking do this job Jesus-and working at a corporate job that takes advantage and under pays is much more degrading lol. I hope you educate yourself more on something you have failed to understand.
