I've been sending out more & more videos lately, so this is fantastic. Finally, a service that won't cock block me for having porn-y names in my files. :dance: I like the setup of it so far & am uploading a test video right now (it's going as fast as I expected) :D

sorry to bring up an old thread, but i have a question. i've been using camredeem and i love it! but here is my problem:

camredeem.png

i have only given out a link to my "evil as fuck" set once, and my "amateur +" twice. yet they show they've been downloaded three and five times.

is this a glitch, or are my pics & video being spread around? i thought each download link was a one time download.

If someone retrieving a file from you chooses to create an account then they will have continued access to that file via their account on our site until such a time as you delete that file. This is designed to be beneficial to you because you will not have to deal with members saying things like "I accidentally deleted the file I bought from you 6 months ago and need access to it again". We log IP addresses for members logging into our website (not models). If a single member accesses our site from 5 IP addresses in one day than their account is automatically disabled and their access to all their files is revoked pending an investigation. We are trying very hard to maintain a balance between convenience for everyone, and protecting the intellectual property rights of the models using our service.

That's from their terms of service.

Yeah they get the file as many times as they want if they have an account. But it has to be only downloaded from their account. I guess my question would be whats stopping someone from then sharing their account instead of the code given to them. 5 times per day is to many. They could just do it 4 times per day for forever.

Also when i click the link they posted i get "This Webpage is Unavailable". Same thing when i google them. Same with the promo code posted as well. None of them let me in.

Camredeem wont load for me today :( whats going on?

I apologize for this. I had an issue with the web host, and had to switch hosting companies. Long story short, I restored last night's backup to a new hosting company, and the site should be back up momentarily.

I apologize for the outage. Our web host went down, and I had to restore a backup to a new hosting company. It should be back up momentarily.

As far as someone sharing their login, this is possible. However, there wasn't much choice. People's IP addresses change pretty frequently, and I didn't want to risk falsely locking out accounts. For what it's worth, so far in the several months of beta there has not been one person who has abused this. The alternative would have been you dealing with people coming back to you saying their download failed, or they accidentally deleted files and needed more codes. This seemed like the right choice to make when we were planning the workflow for the site.

We still believe this model is the best balance of security and convenience for everyone involved. With other file hosts your links could be shared freely and downloaded a *lot* of times without you ever even knowing.

The site is back up. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused anyone. We are going to be switching to a distributed hosting model when the site leaves beta which should result in virtually zero downtime. Unfortunately, the cost is significantly higher, and we don't want to do that until we start charging.

Lastly, I'd like to add that we are testing some new features on our dev server that we hope to have live in the next couple weeks. More on this as we get closer to launching them.

Can I throw out some suggestions that I think would make the site easier to use?

- checkboxes. This way I could select/delete multiple codes at once. Right now I have 49 unredeemed codes to delete and going through them one by one
- Popup dialogues rather than going to a new page. The "are you sure you want to delete this?" is a great precaution, but it could be done in an "okay/cancel" popup rather than taking you through 3 different pages just to delete a code or file
- Keyboard shortcuts for common tasks

A lot of the time models have to do things on the fly, so anything to make simple tasks faster would be really cool!

Love the site and glad to see it back up :D

Checkboxes are on the list of things that should make the next patch (~Two Weeks).

Javascript popover dialogs are probably a better way to handle your second suggestion rather than traditional popups, and I'll add that to my list.

Keyboard shortcuts are a lot trickier. A lot of websites don't bother with them because generally speaking they don't get used very often. We can certainly look into it. We could try some other things too such as one-click code templates. For example, if you are running a promo for selling all your videos as a package deal you could create an "All Videos" template and we could add a one-click button to instantly generate a code in a popover without having to go through the usual steps. This is a bit ambitious to try and have out in the next patch, but it's certainly something I think could be very useful.

Thank you for the quick reply. Wow. Will definitely be checking it out. But i wont be able to fully switch as i have more than 20 videos myself.

And i understand yes my codes now and passwords from mediafire can be shared but I would know as mediafire tells you how many times something has been downloaded. I keep track too. I guess my suggestion would be to lower the number of IP downloads available to a member account. Who's downloading a video 5 different places in one day? I agree your method is much safer and less riskier, but is still risky. I see back door deals of members buying certain models content and switching around accounts with each other to get it all lol.

If you do sign up, and need more video slots then just PM me on here with your username. I can accommodate that request.

I had not thought about this until recently but I'm sort of guilty of this. I currently have a main desktop, another desktop in another room, a laptop, netbook, tablet... 8 computers in all (i use to have a company building them haha). So I've, on many occasions, downloaded them to the different computers so i have them on more than one for watching while travelling or in classes. One of the ladies I bought a video from just mentioned she gets charged for each download. Did not know that before then. So I've been trying to stop downloading them multiple times. But it does happen for honest reasons and not just a sign of the link being shared.

This thread made me just to put in my :twocents-02cents: worth about Dropbox or any other site besides mediafire or others like it.
I use Dropbox for my tablet. The software you install on your computer is simply for syncing files to the webpage. I know of no way someone with a link to a file can use that to gain access to anything on your computer. Dropbox has the ability to manage links so simply deleting previously created ones denies access to that file. New links can be created in a couple clicks.

My experience with Mediafire is that it supremely sucks from an end user standpoint. It may be awesome for models to store their videos with, but every time someone downloads one we are getting hit with pop ups, ads, automatic downloaders being downloaded onto our computers. I personally hate having .exe files put on my computer without my permission.

Just thought I'd share the other side of that website. From our side, it's horrible!

Dropbox has a serious limitation in that once you generate a link and give it to someone it can be shared and the files can be downloaded by anyone anytime. You could create links and delete them later but it's a pain to manage that kind of system because you have no way of knowing if anyone ever actually clicked on your link (or how many people did), and you could wind up deleting links that have been given out to legitimate customers who have not yet downloaded their purchases. Also, it's hard to manage distributing a subset of files. If someone buys 3 of your videos but not all 5 you'd either have to make a special folder just for them and put copies of those three files in it, or manually generate a link for each of the three files by hand. The service is not meant for controlled distribution of files on a larger scale. It's meant for syncing your files across computers, and occasionally sharing a file or folder with a friend or coworker.

The statement about videos being downloaded multiple times costing models money is not true. Right now no one is being charged for anything at all. Also, when the site leaves beta models will only be charged when they generate a code (they get refunded if they delete unredeemed codes). Once you have redeemed the code, the file is linked to your account (if you create one) and you can download it as much as you like with no cost to anyone.

I do not know where he specified that the model who told him this was talking about your site. If he was thinking this applies to your site, I'm glad you cleared this up. I just wanted to point out that if she's using amazon to host her files, they charge the model per download. It can be difficult to keep which site has what rules about such things separate. Since there's at least one site that does this, it's best to assume all sites do this, and only redownload the file from the main site if you've lost all copies of it, using a flash drive to put copies of it onto your other computers.

Awesome :clap:

I'll be looking into this because I'm sick of MediaFire (who I pay $9/month to) blocking access to my vids, and then me having to reupload them under different names. It's a pain in the ass.

I'm trying to sign up for Cam Redeem. When I fill in my info and click the 'sign up' button, it says that my password must be at least 6 characters long, and it IS at least 6 characters long.

Nevermind, I had to pick something else for a password, but it's no big deal. My second choice for a password went through just fine. :)

Yeah they made a booboo.

Code:
    if (document.getElementById('password').value.length < 7) {
		showError("Password must be at least 6 characters long.");
		return;
    }
Password must be at least 7 characters long!

Hey I had this problem ages ago when I thought about switching to camredeem as I needed to upload some larger files.
I am currently using the site and so far am really liking it, generally it's pretty easy to use and I've had no complaints from members. (I too have noticed that I've had wayyy more downloads than what I've sent, which seems kind of strange, especially it happening so quickly, but I don't think anyone I've sent vids to has sent them around.)

My problem lies when I need to upload bigger files, you say we can upload files up to 1GB, well these files are under 1GB. The one I'm currently attempting to upload is 0.6GB. It starts uploading which is fine, I have a fast upload and download speed, much faster than I had when I first tried this. Thing is, whenever it comes to the end of the upload, rather than going to the page where you "save changes" and it finishes uploading, it just refreshes to the "upload a file" page and the video has uploaded. I've tried this with both my larger files and it's really rather irritating. Please please please could you fix the issue? I'm guessing maybe you have a time limit? Or there's another issue.
