I said "local time" not timezone and It is not hard to find out your country based on your "local time".
Dead wrong. There's a huge difference between "time zones" which are standardized, and "local times," which are not. Without the proper reference works, which I'm sure you don't have, trying to correct local times to time zones can't be accurately done.
Aha! I see! You somehow got a copy of "The Big Almanac of Local Time vs Time Zones," which is supposed to only be available to ex-KGB and CIA members.

Gibberish is fun!

I feel like someone is trying to troll me into thinking that local time wouldn't identify your time zone.

Am I really missing something here? If my local time is 1:40pm, it shows that I am in the Pacific time zone. Does that NOT work in the general sense? Am I high on something that I'm missing what the argument is here?

I have no idea what he's talking about either. I don't think there is anything as a 'local time' that's different than a time zone.

The only thing remotely like it is some areas not observing daylight savings time so they would be an hour off what they should be from others in their time zone. And some areas also go down to half hour time zones. But I've never heard of anything like a local time.

That is local time. It's a term used by specialists in certain fields. Local time is affected by political changes, so it will never be completely standardized. Different areas enter DST at different times of the year, and the start date can vary from year to year, or can even be skipped certain years. Some areas don't observe DST at all, while others observe a permanent DST, to give just a few more factors. So assuming that local time can always be easily mapped to a certain time zone is a bad assumption.

@AmberCutie - Trolling =/= reverse psychology. And no, I'm not all about the reverse psychology.

Sorry, I loosely use the term referencing when people completely confuse a reader (on purpose) and eventually make them doubt what they think is correct. That's certainly a form of trolling. But usually trolls at least have a sense of humor. So no, I should not accuse you of such things.

Edit: but yeah thanks for your explanation. I can see now your point, even if it's pretty precise/detailed differences that don't seem apparent in the bigger picture.

My town is 6 minutes ahead of the town to the west and 4 minutes behind the town to the east. It is also only in sync with the town the the south on the 3rd Sunday of February in a leapyear otherwise its 2 minutes behind. My local time is 6:32 so where am I

So if she gives you the EXACT time, without rounding (like I assume most girls do, cuz I'd call that like 6:30 or 6:35 and I'd probably add and 'ish' after), you could MAYBE figure it out?

That's some weird magic time stuff.
