So, hold on... Am I understanding this correctly? This guy goes on camsites (which are basically meant for paid, live and interactive porn) to... have deep, meaningful conversations with the girls?

MFC is boring because most models do exactly the same. That is what makes the models their money.

Yeah... because it's a site for paid, live and interactive porn? Not a forum?... You can have deep, meaningful and free conversations about literally anything you want on forums all across the Internet, so I don't understand why you're upset about not being able to have that for free on a website that's literally not meant for that?

ok enough about what doesn't work I am hijacking this. it now about how to keep night in cam site interesting.

I admit being only an MFC citizen. I popular tag look ups are goth and ACF.

I have seen many a goth with a neat tattoo, some fun jewelry or poster in (shocking in know ) previews. a good ice breaker is slipping in and comment and see what happens. if she cant talk or has found such subjects do not do well to her token flow her a lady out and you can get some great talks going

this is how I met @NaughtyBellaXx I just popped in said blessed be and boom we clicked.
I say that @KatVonnegut had this neat old dress on and found some blues playing in her room and I love blues.
@DivSavel had those cool elf ears.
i will say if i fins a interesting response to a thread i do check out your profiles even if i am not on the site, any traffic helps. right (hope so)
what fun tags can you be found under?

Maybe you should try indie webcam models or private base sites? Personally, I am one of those cam models who actually talks about super dark things. I will talk about everything from the occult to death to capital punishment on cam. However, I can because I am more indie based . Or I am on specialty fetish sites and Foreign cam sites such as Visit-X. You can talk about all types of things on those types of sites. Now, my customers are not conservative mid westerners either. My customers are either depraved preppies with tons of family money, Blue-collar guys, fetish guys, extreme fetish guys, and well-to-do foreigners. Now, most cam model avoid certain subjects because it affects your money if you are on major sites like MFC or SM. However, a lot of indie-based or speciality-based cam models have more led way.

I am separating this from the "annoying things a cam model can do" thread because it would otherwise hijack/ derail that thread.

A model wondered why I label a site that has thousands of models that can fulfill all your fantasies and are from almost any cultural or ethnic background in the world boring.

Well.. that sounds brilliant, right? Thousands of women waiting for you.. right? To cater every fantasy or depravity.. right?

Well..

First of all: what I am/ was looking for on Myfreecams was not actually sexually.

Of course I like the occasional private session with a model, but I am just as likely to tip a model an equal amount just because. However.. I do like intelligent chat with people too.. in fact I prefer it. I would love to chat about things that I find interesting.

But.. here is the thing: Of those thousands of models this model referred to, 80% is not proficient in a language I may be proficient in: I don't speak Russian or Spanish.. and try holding an intelligent conversation with a model whose only sentences in English are: "You tip", "me show" and "private bb?".

So we're left with hundreds instead of thousands...

Now of those hundreds, 85% attempts to cater to the same target market: the midwest to west USA conservative middle to high end male manager as those are the ones who have the money and spend it on camsites. So you're not allowed to discuss certain subjects in their rooms as it may affect their income for instance.

Clearly I do not belong to that target group. I am a liberal West-European bloke that barely makes enough to survive and still devotes some of his earnings with models he likes.

And then suddenly we're left with dozens at best instead of thousands...

Add to that the fact that of those dozens, some log in at times I am not available due to work and/ or sleep.. some log in very erratically, not seeing them for days or weeks or months some times.. Some work for studios and or promotors (shall we say pimps here.. because that is usually what it comes down to) who tell them what to do and charge and say.. Some only logging in for a very limited time each time as they are afraid it will affect their camscore..

And you're down to 1, maybe 2 per day that, if you get lucky, may get a glimpse of.

That is how MFC has become boring to me.

Of course you can disagree or think this is a bad trolling attempt but this is how I feel things have become.. I don't see any model do a pottery show anymore, or glassblowing or welding.. I don't see models discussing works of art or architecture in public chat anymore. And the number of models I can make a DnD joke to about rolling a skill check and making that, or failing that, has dwindled to 3 now.

So.. your thougths please

If you want to talk about that, maybe you should make a new thread?

I think it would be interesting to study if verity increases tipping over all.
Kind of like how farmers rotate crops to to get better yields.

Though I guess on MFC that would be like rotating types of adult shows. I guess that's already done.

Controversial topics are not what you find in customer service jobs. Cam models cannot be expected to filter out 50% of their viewers in one sweeping political statement. It would be career suicide if most of us shared all of our deepest beliefs and opinions with our room. People want a FANTASY. An illusion, if you will. Of a really attractive, young, sexual person who is mostly always horny and shares all of your opinions about the world. As a camgirl you can't really mention who you're voting for, what you think about abortion, how you really feel about war, any controversial kinks you have, harsh opinions you have about religion, ect. These things are reserved for speaking to people IRL who want to talk to an entire human being who is multifaceted and then debate with them about those things. Camming isn't for navigating through the moral network of our brains and figuring out how the universe works. Its about indulging in erotic pleasure with an accepting vessel.

With that said, it also frustrates me. All of this. I wish camming could be more like IRL interaction too. But that is not a job because it's not rare. Sex is rare. Sex is the commodity that women trade. If you want to get the entire feminine experience, you have to make lady friends IRL. Even an escort is gonna avoid subjects that may turn you off to her. Everyone wants return customers. Friends want to be heard and understood.

So much this. I like visiting cam rooms for what it is, a way to unwind and escape the real world I spend the other 20+ hours of every day in. I like the interaction with cam models, but I figure the difference between cam models and real friends is I am paying them to leave the drama out. I have enough drama in my real life, when I log into cam sites i just want to relax and have fun. I've seen both members and models forget this and the result is never pretty.

My favorite models aren't overly sexual and can get tips just because. Often the sexy tip menu stuff happens between the goofy/entertaining stuff.

I know the perfect model for you, she is drop dead gorgeous, entertaining, highly intellectual and down to earth-- her problem? She attracts a lot of the broke intellectual types who want to chat chat chat and not tip. I wish she came on during hours when I'm not working.

But, yes, your demands are a bit too high, you obviously are projecting female friend/GF desires onto a pool of models working in a system that doesn't pay them to be what you need them to be. I agree, the same sexual stuff is a bit boring but MFC is hardly the place to go looking for the 20% of the population who wants those types of conversations. There are free non-sexual internet communities where you can find those conversations and probably even make some real friends.

I know of only 2 models who meet the criteria that you have listed.

And just as a follow on to this...I have been on Mfc for a few years now and have tipped more tokens than I want to admit, most going to one model but a lot going to others as well. The model I have tipped the most to is the model I am closest to personally and I thought she was my favorite, but over the past year or so I have realized I enjoy other rooms more because they provide more of what I am looking for on a cam site which does not equal the same thing as being real world friends.

Yup. Then she gets mad when people don't tip.

Just a thought about this. The number one top earning model for the past year and a half is non-nude in her public chat. The model (a different one now) who finished in the #1 spot just last month is also non-nude. Those two represent face painting shows as well as cooking, workouts, poker as well as other forms of gambling, and mostly chatting with members.

And just roughly estimating the time percentages here. But if you add up the total time the top 20 finishers last month spent chatting (and not doing the porn thing), I'd have to say it was over 90% of on cam time. Yes, most do have porn related count downs. But let's be honest, most of those shows last an average of 10 minutes, but it took two or more hours to get to the show for most of them.

MFC is far from 'basically' a live and interactive porn site. It's primarily chat based in reality.

Wouldn't you get upset if you showed up for work and didn't get paid?

I was commenting on the type of model who tends to create the type of atmosphere in her room where conversation is paramount above tipping. I know too many models who talk to members who are only interested in talking and not tipping, then complain about people not tipping. Dont pay too much attention to members who are not tipping if you hope to create an environment where tipping is expected.

Don't expect to get paid just because you show up....that is not how any job works.

I think the best thing said about tipping came from AmazingKate in the thread about Olivia and how she created a strong tipping culture. I think more models need to learn how to create that kind of culture where people like to join in, where tipping feels satisfying and it encourages more tipping. I think there are a few models who do this at different levels. Shoot one model even has a frickin tipping song she sings!

I think MFC is some great data on social psychology!

Ok, I kind of get what your complaint is. To find what you specifically like, you have to be patient, respectful, and diligent. I am by any means not a big tipper, one of my favorite models calls me her Splendadaddy, opposite of Sugar Daddy, but she appreciates it when I come to her room. Why, I try to respect her and her business, when she is getting tokens from major donors, I don't get in the way. When it is slow I chat, I try to tip when and what I can.

My main point is when you find a model that fits your niche do all you can to support her, first with tokens, then by being a positive addition to the room.

I blogged about how to be a member models like
http://swoobiescamgirladventure.blogspot.com/2015/06/how-to-be-myfreecams-member-models-will.html

Finally, finding a model that is your niche and then she leaves is one of the probs of camming. You have to accept that nature of the business, keep plugging away.

Just my 2 Cents

I'd be better of hiring an escort..

I saw this, and was like "Aw, shit...here we go." Lol. So then go hire yourself an escort then?

Providing entertaining conversation isn't "just showing up". That's a big part of what a LOT of members on MFC pay for.

But there are too many models online at any given time who are providing entertaining conversation. I anon tipped a model 1000 tokens last night to a model because she was doing something that made me smile and there was nothing sexual about it...she was fully clothed. She was just being entertaining.

Not every model who logs into MFC has the capability to do that kind of thing, just like every trial lawyer does not have the ability to earn $1 million per year. Its the attitude that just because a model logs in that she deserves tokens that bugs me. You have to do something that differentiates you from the 1000 other models who are logged in.

The fact that the #1 earner on MFC is non-nude does not prove that the site overall is primarily chat based.

If you're being entertained by the conversation a model is providing, then yes, she does deserve your tokens. You don't HAVE to tip, there is no obligation, but if she's providing a service (chatting with you about whatever topic) she's deserving of compensation for that service.

I far from believe that girls deserve money for just showing up, but providing an entertaining conversation is a service. If she's not chatting, and no one is tipping for acts like 'flash', 'dance', 'hula hoop', or whatever, there's not much she can do to entertain the room while waiting for the countdown to be completed other than chatting, unless she's expected to do a performance for free in hopes of getting paid.

The problem is that flash, dance, hula hoop, etc have become so common that the value of them has become almost worthless because there are so many models who will do them for next to nothing. The model I was talking about was playing guitar and singing songs, and being funny while doing it. Not every model is capable of doing that and that is why she is one of the top models on the site. I agree that providing conversation is a service, but more people are able to provide that service to lonely guys than are able to entertain crowds of thousands of people and that is why there are still a select few models who are at the top of the game.

I wasn't disputing that having talents makes you a better camgirl than not having talents... I was disputing your implication that providing conversation is not a service deserving of money and that those girls had the attitude that they deserved tokens just for logging on, as you said in the post I responded to.

I guess I have experienced too many models who expect to be tipped just because they log in. The problem is there are a lot of models who will talk to members who arent tipping therefore it diminishes the value of providing just conversation.

Yeah, I can only speak for myself but usually, the people who don't tip are the people who talk the most. So if none of the people with tokens in the room are saying anything or tipping, am I supposed to sit there in silence until one of them speaks or tips?

I've never seen models prioritize the non-tippers. I've only seen models try to keep their rooms alive and entertaining while the tippers are silent.

but talking to you and successfully entertaining you, as you stated, is not just logging in and expecting to be tipped?
I tend to very much agree with what I think you are thinking your saying... but you're not really saying it because you are referring to her as entertaining in the same voice... which basically just cancels it out.
If the idea is that other girls are also entertaining for less and that bothers you, then that's kind of on you.
You don't want a model to get tipped for nothing, but you also don't want a model to talk to people who haven't already tipped in hopes they will tip... SO WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DOOOOOOOO?

*head splode* I'll just walk in circles right off cam...

1) I'm the model you're talking about who said those things, and it's not that deep, you're reading way too much into my throw away comment.

2) We literally don't care what your spending allowance is, and I don't much care for your superiority complex. Just because we're doing sexual things or not having stimulating conversation good enough for your big man brain you think that's a reason to complain about MFC.

3) On the contrary, you're actually proving WHY we don't talk about more interesting topics in free chat. You're openly admitting you don't think we should be paid to do it. If a lot of members think that way, of course we're not going to do that? Anyone with common sense would go with the option that brings them more tips.

4) You wanna see things like glass blowing? Go see it in real life or watch a YouTube video. It's like going to the library for a swim. If you want to swim don't go somewhere where they don't provide a pool!

Yes, I was thinking why doesn't he just Google search this stuff (or look up a certain category on Clips4Sale and buy a clip for under $10)?

Threads like these become a bit awkward when we learn it's an ACF model the guy is complaining about, and she now has to explain/defend herself... :( *Hug* Though I do think it's good when we get to hear both sides.
