That's the next point I was going to bring up. We can never win lmao.

I'm talking more about the chronic never tippers. I have been in a room where a member said that he liked coming in there because other models ignore him because he doesn't tip. I will stop tipping if a member says something like that. It's one thing to be a lurking freeloader, it another thing entirely to boast about it. You're getting the same thing out of the room that I am, why should I subsidize you? (I know this is going to be met with the typical response of take her private....I don't enjoy privates and prefer to be in a room where there is discussion and many people contributing hence the reason I usually stick to rooms in he top couple of lines.)

If a girl is talking to a "chronic never tipper" as you call it, it's probably because she's not successful enough or running a busy enough room where she can afford to ignore anyone that contributes to conversation, even if they never tip.

Like are you seriously fucking kidding me? You'll punish a model for doing what she can to keep conversation going???

This is so off topic but this is where this thread has been led. As a member I don't tip just based on conversation, time spent with the model. After all talk is cheap.
Not every model who entertains me will get a fair share of my tokens, not every model is deserving of that fair share. Members should not feel guilty for taking a model's time and not spending on her over someone else more worthy.

Models often play that game with us, but usually the more deserving model gets our tokens. One minute with the right model can be worth 10 with a model you just like to talk with. For many of us it is only those few magic moments that keep us coming back.
The model we like to talk with has a greater chance and will usually be that moment from time to time, but she must be worthy of it.
It is not that she has earned it by spending her time on the member, but that she is the right model in that moment.

I also wanted to add that the actual amount spent on a particular model usually does matter. It is not the model being greedy, just that there is a minimum for each model where she can give the attention that the member thinks he deserves. In this respect each model is different in my experience, some models are more generous than others (much like as with members).

Members should not feel guilty for taking a model's time and not spending on her over someone else more worthy.
If you are taking up her time you owe her at least 5 tokens, that's not much to ask. If you don't want to tip, don't participate in the room.

When I log on to my perv account, if I can't tip, I don't talk at all, I don't ask ANYTHING of the model other than allowing my name to remain on the list of people in her room.

Like is this thread entirely serious now? There are enough freeloaders on MFC as is but now people that hang out on ACF and obviously see camgirls as human beings think that they shouldn't feel bad not tipping a single token while hanging in a girl's room, getting attention and being entertained?

No one is obligated or required to tip but if you're intentionally taking a camgirl's attention (typing in that little box is an intentional choice) you should at least show her some gratitude by spending 10 cents.

If a model doesn't want me to participate in the hope I may tip, she shouldn't waste her time on chat.... It is a similar logic.

This wasn't my point. More that that 5+ tokens worth of chat may really be owed to the model that you barely chatted to (perhaps even 50 tokens). Only the member can really compare.

I am not a big believer in one model taking another's scraps, it is degrading for all of us.

We aren't dogs by the way just incase you were unsure on this point

What percentage of members even tip? For models who constantly have 100 members, how many are going to tip each hour of her shift?

Some models actual beg for chatters because otherwise it is just a night at the aquarium! One model begged for chatters, "tips are appreciated but not required for participation!"

Another model kicks lurkers out, "say hello or leave!" She then goes through the member list and says, "you've been here for too long without saying anything, goodbye, "come back when you are ready to chat!"

Such a balancing act!

My guess would be about 5 %, sometimes I check when in a room, you can see the small line on MFC seperating tippers from non tippers.
When i have no tokens I simply don't log in and then be just a simple guest. So no confusion for the model and the other members in the room.

:)

There's a difference between begging people to say hello and engaging in full political and social rants like this guy is expecting. If you don't have tokens at the moment, I still appreciate a small greeting at the very least.

I don't understand why some members don't think talking is entertainment. If we ARE in fact engaging you, then that is entertaining you! We're just stimulating your brain instead of your dong!

It's like we'll never be perfect. Men will complain a woman is too sexual, but then will complain if she talks too much. Now THAT'S the balancing act we need to work on.

I really don't understand how your brain works. Comments like this really make you sound nutso. I've wasted too much energy even trying to figure out what it means, especially in reference to the topic at hand.

My findings from last night:

I skimmed so might have missed stuff, but Snowie has a point somewhere in amongst the ill-advised sense of entitlement that pervades his post. It's hard to argue that most rooms on MFC at least, don't consist of some combination of nudity, light conversational topics, cum shows, dirty talk, and raffles. I don't think it's unfair to be bored by that after a while.

The problem is that as a member, unless you're willing to pay handsomely for it, you're not really entitled to anything more than the status quo. There's a very simple reason for most MFC rooms being so similar: models don't log on to MFC to provide tailored and sophisticated entertainment to intellectuals looking for something that transcends what is expected of a cam site (although some still manage it somehow), they log on to make money to pay their bills and feed their kids and make sure they have a roof over their heads and can afford some of the finer things in life. If that means rarely venturing outside of the small handful of things that are proven to work on sites like MFC more often than not, then you can't really criticise them for playing it safe. I'm willing to bet they'd rather risk boring a few members than risk not making enough money to pay rent that month.

That said, I don't think Snowie is necessarily criticising cam girls individually. It's more a broad criticism of cam sites in general, where capitalism takes precedence over creative and intellectual expression.

This thread has a severe case of "over thinking it"

just chill... CHILLLLLLLLL. Have some fricken fun and relax for crying out loud! It's interactive porn...fudge

I AM that model you describe. I talk about philosophy and art and what I think of music and the different undercurrents and themes in different kinds of pictures and movies.

I have dressed up in armor that I made myself on cam and demonstrated fighting techniques, talked about the books I like to read, done church based shows where I sing made up hymns on the spot, done sexed shows, done mukbang shows, demonstrated my knowledge of food while getting tipsy and cooking, all of these.

I am sensual sexy, goofily stupid, and I literally don't give a fuck about what people think, I am me and I am unapologetic about it.

My dedicated regulars ARE MY FRIENDS. I mean this in every sense of the word. They support me when I need it, and after they support me for a while, I eventually stop caring if they can't tip every 3/10 times I'm on cam. I build bonds. I check in on them. I respond when they message me. I send them dumb snaps that make me think of them and vice versa. I'm sexy with them but also not. I'm not afraid to show them who I am.

I am the model that NEVER SHAKES DOWN HER MEMBERS FOR TIPS.

And guess what? I struggle ALL THE TIME BECAUSE OF IT.

The things you all want from a "model" model. A perfect model...lots of us do that, and we are NEVER rewarded for it.

Our jobs are 100% commission. We don't get hourly or ANYTHING. So, naturally, we are going to do shows that sell. Boring things.

Things that we are AS SICK OF DOING AS YOU ARE.

I don't WANT to do a cum show every night. I WANT to dress up as Rick from Rick and Morty and do dumb science experiments on cam and get paid at least 400 tokens an hour to do it and have fun. That is not a lot. Not from the 5-10 prems in my room who visit me EVERY TIME I'M ONLINE and tell me HOW AWESOME I AM and how I NEVER PRESSURE THEM, and never have in 2+ years tipped me.

IF YOU WANT FUN, DIFFERENT CONTENT+SHOWS, WE NEED TO BE PAID FOR IT.

So toss 5 tokens our way when we do something different, because we fucking work hard for great ideas and they never sell so we are doomed to keep doing the shit that sells because we have to eat and have internet.

Edit: Obviously, I'm amazingly bitter that I don't get to do my crazy stupid ideas on cam because people love them, but won't tip me for them and I've spent so much money I never earned back on these stupid ideas.

Double edit: I'm even MORE bitter because I DON'T want to be making top dollar for my shenanigans. I want to make a comfortable wage while making people have fun and caring about them, and people take advantage of that urge to care for people and making me not be able to live on it. I'm so bitter about that.

I think for what your would like to do a subscription based website would be good, you get a fixed hourly base rate and an option to make more through tips as an incentive.
Maybe something like this will pop up, but not sure how to get it going...
But with millions looking for entertainment it could maybe work as a niche product...

:)

Most girls who want this type of atmosphere just have their own solo membership site. for example My solo site is through adultmembersites.com. some models like joeykim build their own sites themselves like she has with joeykim.tv...

I was actually thinking about a site similar to MFC with a decent numbers of models giving a bit of choice. Maybe around 50 or so
The subcription is to make sure that each model makes at least some basic money.
Personally I would pay 20 $ per month for such a site and I would not expect some hardcore action, maybe a bit of higher level sexualised entertainment.
But maybe an idea which will not work in real...

That'd be hard to make work for real. Or at least in a way that's truly lucrative for the models.

Say you had 50 models camming on that site, subscriptions are $20/month and the site takes 50%. I'm betting tipping would be hard to get going on a site like that since you're already paying $20/month for access, but say each model gets $50 in tips each show, so $25 in pocket, and they each cam 20 days a month; so they'd make $500/tips each month. For each model to make $1k a month (less than a minimum wage employee) after tips and a bonus from subscriptions you'd need 2,500 subscribed members a month.

It just wouldn't work unless those girls were doing it as a labor of love as a side job from their regular site.

I think this thread was extremely insightful. Kind of opened my eyes a little more and helped me realize how a lot of members think.

I mean, not that I'm going to change anything about my camming style, but it helps me understand the member's perspective. Doesn't matter if I agree or not, this is how a LOT of long-time members feel and that is just the facts of it.

Chaturbate has a $20 per month membership option to remove ads and get PMing abilities. Many members do pay for that. But they dont give the models a cut :( That is just one of the reasons why even though I switched sites, I will never like or trust Chaturbate as much as I trusted MFC. Because they profit from models in many ways without compensating them. For example, with banners. They have hardcore banners all around my feed which means even if I don't make a dime, Chaturbate is making money from my show. I just never see a cut. It would be nice if they did share some of it.

So you're going to punish a model for the bad behavior of a member? Am I understanding this correctly?

Ew. I thought that $20/month thing just meant they had to buy 200 tokens every month to keep that premium membership
