I’m becoming somewhat of an amateur photographer with my smartphone. In many ways it’s the best camera because it’s always in your pocket. My favorite ones to take are black and white photos. Share some of your own, watermark them if you wish to. Here’s my first. Let me know what you think please. There are two versions here:)

Very nice! I like the mirror thing in the first examples. I like pictures where you need some time to "get it"
B/W is so much better sometimes.

I prefer the second one in the first post because it's more sharp and clear.
The only thing that spoils the shot (but is out of your control) are the reflections of the cars, unfortunately. Maybe some will think this adds some nice realism to it, but for me it ruins the otherwise superb shot. Never the less, it still looks fantastic.

I really like the second photo in your second post, the entire look of it is fantastic. I thas that feel of being a nice vintage photo, something you would think is from 50 years ago.

I have been taking photos of my home town recently during the snow and i did some in the summer just gone, I will post a few (mostly nature ones, where it's our river, trees etc) but they do look very nice.
Growing up, I definitely didn't realise and appreciate how nice my town is where i live, and how peaceful and quiet and relaxing it is to have a nice walk in the summer, etc
They are not amazing photos in the sense of me being a photographer, they are purely amateur ones, but i will share some soon.

I definitely prefer the second photo, because it's clearer. :)

Last week I had a very funny and strange working day in my secondary job:

De-installing Christmas lights In the middle of the summer sunshine, literally on top of the Berlin wall (or what's left of it). A place where not long ago trespassers would have been shot. Normally we do this in very bad weather conditions, but on this day we where in shorts listening to weird techno :) And the historical background made me smile the whole day.

Between you and Big Clive I'm coming to like the stories of the lights most from the season.

It has lot of names, but Monkey tree seems the most known. They used to bind slaves to it's trunk as a punishment in caribbean :/

I think not an Hawthorne tree that has spike at the end of each branch, not on it's trunk, I think.

You inspired this little plant nerd! I think it could be this quite interesting tree I have yet to see called Pink Floss Silk Tree Ceiba speciosa .

I would love to get a chance to see this in person! Last year I discovered the Tulip Tree which is pretty cool ... not spiky but super tall with tulip like flowers way up in the branches.

I want in to! Here are some of mine
