I was basing that off an email I got from a model who said her adult content was removed from Dropbox so she was glad to be switching to our site and not having to worry about it, and I got that same email from former Mediafire users several times in the past. I do not know much about mega other than what happened with it's predecessor MegaUpload. In either case you are correct about the code thing, a link from any other service can be posted anywhere and your content stolen directly from the same source your customers get it from.

I've trawled through my videos on CR and have removed any which appear redundant. It's brought down the amount of storage used so I shall be on the lower tariff!

A random answer to why that model's dropbox vids disappeared. If she sent the link to the vids to a member's dropbox and THAT MEMBER deletes it from their dropbox it will be deleted from ALL dropboxes that link has been sent to. I deal with dropbox daily when it comes to IRL modelling and this is a common occurence and probably one of the biggest calls we get from other models when dealing with their sets being sent to them.

Edited to Add: I personally still use camredeem because it is very straightforward and has been the easiest thing to use when sending videos. I really do appreciate the camredeem site immensely.

Nobody has been using MD5 or SHA1 to store passwords for a long time, it's too easy to crack. If your database is leaked, the attacker would get the passwords in less than an hour.

And sending a plain-text password in an AJAX request on a not-HTTPS connection is not secure either. You should at least send them over an HTTPS connection or hash them on the client-side (hint: https://code.google.com/p/javascript-bcrypt/ ).

It's not an md5 hash. That was what we used in the very beginning. We since switched to a different algorithm. I will look at implementing this JavaScript library though. Thanks for the heads up.

I think you mean if that member reports it as porn or more accurately 'flags' it then it may disappear from the models directory due to dropbox taking action. Just a member deleting the file on their dropbox won't deleted it in the models account. Dropbox doesn't work that way. If I send you a link for a file you can add it to your dropbox account and do whatever you wish with it because an actual copy will be placed in your account.

Now google drive does work the way you're mentioning though. There if I 'share' a file with you then that file will show in your Drive as being shared. If I give you full edit access to the file you can change it or even delete it and it will delete on mine as well. That's one thing i hate about Drive. If I'm given access to a file don't be deleting it just because the original owner chose to get rid of it on their end. The way around that is to set sharing permissions to 'view' only, not edit.

The site looks great and I'm really excited to start using it now that it's working for me and I'm no longer getting pre update errors.
I am not comfortable giving out open download links in case of sharing (I'm surprised by how many models still do this actually) but Mediafire 1-time download links now take 7 CLICKS (yes, ridiculous) so doing that while being on cam has become too much of a pain and I end up taking names to send out vids when I log off, probably defeating the purpose for a lot of these guys who want them immediately
So THANK YOU for creating this service!

A possible idea for future update - seeing as you have access to all the stats anyway would it be possible to have a page within our accounts showing our stats like top selling video, how many vids sold this week/month (to compare to previous months)?
Not really sure what other stats. Maybe something site wide like average vid length (6 minutes or whatever) most popular format mp4. As a guide so we kind of know whats expected.

My brains a bit fried from sitting down and reading this whole post in one sitting, I hope I'm making sense!

Its not allowed. I've tried and it flags the message and it won't go through.
I even sent support a message about it explaining to them how CamRedeem works and how its anonymous, etc, and they did not seem too keen on the idea of even hearing me out about it. I really wish they would add it to the list of video hosts they allow because I can't stand MediaFire or DropBox, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Another small (ish I think?) request/idea.. would it be possible to make it so you can change the order of the order the files display in on the my files page? Not a super big deal but it would be nice to make them easy to find/kind of organized for girls with 20+ videos (I can't believe I have more than the average, so strange to me!).

Hmmm, that has not been my experience but since I am the assistant to the photographer I am getting the files second hand and usually have to have him re-link them to me. Nothing that was sent photographywise would have been flagged as pornographic as most of these files are fashion industry related, commercial shoots, or the digital version of printed family portraits. Maybe I should shoot dropbox support an email about this issue (maybe I'm dealing with a weird glitch? I'm not code/computer savvy by any stretch of the means so just shooting in the dark here).

It depends on how you are giving them the files. If you just send them the link to the file or folder then no, they can't delete it from your dropbox. If however, you "share" the folder with them, then yes they can delete or edit anything in the folder (useful for collaborative work).

Wait, does your boss have Dropbox for Business set up? Because that may allow sharing and each of the people on the business account the ability to delete files. The personal use side of dropbox doesn't.

Okay. Learn something new every day. I've never used that shared folder option. Always just created a folder on my own computer for files and let the sync software do all the uploading. So i've only ever just sent out links, not sharing stuff.

This feature is called "Promo Code". There should be a button to create a promo code right on the main file view.

Hello Mike, not sure if you're still actively checking this thread but I thought this'd be the best place to place my query:

I'm starting to make videos in HD quality. The files are considerably larger. I have one which I'd like to upload, in one file it's 2.97GB and is a 20 minute video.

Because that's over your file limit I have split the file into two parts which fit into your file size limit. Issue is, I keep trying to upload them and they go through the upload process (which takes forever and means I need to stick around my laptop so it doesn't close up and lose connection), once it's finished uploading it tells me there's an error with the file/upload.

Could you tell me what the error is, why I cannot upload this file and what I could do to fix it?

With more and more members wanting videos in true HD I also recommend having an option to have a larger file limit, especially once you're out of the beta stage, more like 3GB rather than 2GB. Your file size limit is still much better than most sites I've seen for sure, but it's more incentive to pay a bit extra.

You people needs some tutorials about how to encode videos because that is crazy. That's more than half the size a decent movie in HD on a torrent website for only 20mn of video.
"TrueHD" just means the video resolution is 1920×1080p. The other important parameter is the bitrate, and it seems many models are choosing to encode their videos with a bitrate way too high, especially since the type of content produced is rarely a fast paced action movie, but rather a fixed camera with a static background which doesn't require a high bitrate.

I really wish I could, but this is really not my domain of expertise. I just can tell you something is wrong with such numbers.

Encoding is the calculation done by a computer to convert from one format to another, in your case from the raw format used in editing to the final format for publication (nowadays, h264).

I don't know what software you are using. I know there's an Evvie thread about this in the Model section. I've heard people using Vegas Pro and Prmiere Pro.
x264 is considered to be the best encoder for the video format h264. The problem is Vegas Pro and Premiere use the encoder made by Mainconcept, and Vegas uses settings that are indented to BluRays authoring (ie a crazy high industry standard bitrate). You should be able to select an external encoder in these softwares but since I don't have them I can't tell you "how".

I can sum up some good basic parameters for x264:

• Preset: between Fast and Slowest, depending on how fast your computer is.
• Profile: Auto, Main or High Profile
• Level: Auto or 4.1
• Tune: None or Film
• Rate control: Single pass - quantizer based
• Quantizer: between 18 (best quality) and 26 (smaller file size)

For example, I used a quantizer 26 to re-encode some video I bought recently to have a smaller file size on my tablet:
Original size: 965 MB with an average bitrate of 14348 KBits/s
Reencoded size: 194 MB with an average bitrate 3248 KBits/s
(the video is 7mn40s long).

But the quality is not noticeably different, why? because the original video was encoded with a constantly high bitrate everywhere, whereas x264 dynamically chooses the best bitrate (okay this is a very simplified explanation). I could send it to the model, I don't think she would notice the difference.

I have recently purchase several videos that are 3 gigabyte long, 10-20 minutes in true HD. Generally sent via Google Drive. I can download them but when I try to save the file I am unable to so. When I did a bit of googling it appears this is a function of the brower save function. Now 2 gigabyte is equal to to 2^31 which is one of those limitation of computers/software that isn't easily fixed.

It would seem to me that if CamReedem cam up with easy to use function say automatic split and rejoin, it would be a real help to camgirls and members, and strong incentive for people to use your website.

I am just not sure how realistic it is to expect girls to learn about very compression techniques, although I do agree with Eclipse, the file size for HD videos are way higher than they need to be.
