Just finished my interview with Sandra. She was respectful, polite, and indeed a female. :)
That's great. I'm sure Sandra will find your perspective very useful. I know she appreciates it.
I hope to have an interview with Sandra this week to give her a guy's perspective.

Hi all! Just wanted to post an update.

The great news is this project has been approved for my senior thesis! Which means I will be continuing with it for the next 6 months. Hopefully this will give me enough time to get to know more of you and become more active on the forum :)

For now, this portion of the project will be done by the end of December. Thank you so much again to those who have been really supportive and helpful. You're the nicest people to ever work with :romance-grouphug:

Hi everyone!

The paper for this semester is finished! It is approximately 20 pages long and is a REALLY condensed version of what I want to accomplish next semester. Unfortunately I was not able to directly quote everyone I interviewed, but I took everything into consideration when making analyses and drawing connections. I did my very best to not try and push a specific viewpoint, but the paper (and the way its written) suggests that I am definitely a pro-sex feminist and my intentions were not to criticize people in the business (the business itself however is open for debate!)

I will be writing a much longer work next semester (probably 50-60 pages) so I will continue to talk to ya'll for the next few months.

Anyway, with all that said, if anyone is interested in reading it please let me know (reply, PM, e-mail) and I will e-mail you a copy. My e-mail address is camprojectsq@gmail.com

Thanks again xo

I'd hope that Sandra gets a good grade on her paper, it is well written and well documented, not that I checked the footnotes :D. I bit of a warning the first half of the paper is sort of history of the feminist divide in 80s and 90 on pornography, the pro porn and anti porn split. My exposure to the fight was limited to reading the pages of the Playboy forum, and few articles in the Atlantic , Vanity Fair and such. Anyway I suspect, the second half of the paper is the good stuff for most ACF members. I found her observations of MFC to be pretty much spot on.

Thank you! And yes I should have said something about that if you're not into feminist theory the first half of the paper is semi dense.

Biddle, Sam. "Indentured Servitude, Money Laundering, and Piles of Money: The Crazy Secrets of Internet Cam Girls." Gizmodo. Gawker Media, 18 Sept. 2012. Web. 8 Oct. 2012.

......

I've recently stumblet upon this Gizmodo article, too, and I find it extremelly unfriendly towards the webcam community:

http://gizmodo.com/5941976/indentured-s ... girls-nsfw

:(

All my friends that own studios and in the adult business laughed their ass off when they read that article. The guy that wrote it doesn't even have a clue about the webcam industry, and how studios are seen as investments not as centers to launder money(restruants, cinemas, car washes are used for that). A nicely run studio can bring in profits of $10,000/month of each room(physical room) it has. They also market like crazy on facebook and newspaper sites.

A Webcam studio is one of the perfect combinations of Offline Business+Internet Marketing that can be done with relatively low start up costs compared to other offline businesses.
