I don't know if a lot of you guys are aware, but there is a HUGE issue with Streamate right now where they will drop models near the end of a GOLD show. This means the model performed her entire show for free and she will not be paid - the members get a free show and the model gets fucked out of potentially hundreds of dollars.

There was a particularly enjoyable video made by one member where he called Streamate support to complain about a dropped show, and the woman flatly denied that there was any issue and then hung up on him.

There is no phone support for models. We have to rely on e-mail support, where the support people often blatantly ignore what is written in the e-mail and send canned responses.

As I am sure you can imagine, it is pretty shitty performing a show and rolling the dice as to whether or not you will get paid. Nobody likes working for free, and Streamate is refusing to acknowledge this issue exists. Yes, some models do get dropped due to our own bad connections, but there is clearly an issue going on when models who have never run in to this problem suddenly start encountering it in 50% of their shows.

If you lovely gents would be so obliged, it would be really nice if you could call Streamate support and tell them that you are upset about getting kicked out of shows so often, that you are upset models are being treated poorly, and that you are upset they are not being honest about service issues (it doesn't actually matter if you have an account there or not).

I know there are cool dudes here who get a sad when ladies are being mistreated, so you can be a hero and help us out by calling the numbers below and letting SM know this shit ain't cool. If you do call, we would love to hear your experiences :)

Support numbers by country:

Germany: 0-800-181-0993
United Kingdom (Great Britain): 0-800-098-8202
United States Of America: 1-866-941-3982

All Other Countries: +1-206-438-0241

Wow. I'm glad I moved over to MFC when I did...

Wow. I think they are on to something in the air. Just called. Told em I've been on their site checking it out the past few days and have noticed numerous chat comments about shows being cut off before they were done. Wanted to know before I joined if that was a problem or if that was being worked on....
Lady hung up on me right there. Tried calling back. Wouldn't connect. Said fuck that, whipped out the other 7 google Voice phone numbers I've got (hey, they're free, so I stocked up. Sue me) and called em back to ask more.

Why are you hanging up on people calling to inquire about server problems? click...
Is this an ongoing problem or are you even aware your servers are messing up? click...
You really don't like people calling you on this issue do you? click...
a few more like that... click, click, click, click...

Yeah, I don't think they like me. :crybaby:

The longer youtube call is pretty classic. Still after three complaints about the same thing I don't blame customer service reps for getting POed.

I am confused though this doesn't seem like it is good business for either Streammate or the models, since they aren't collecting any money for shows which aren't being completed. Perhaps I'm missing something but it seems like SM has every incentive to fix this ASPAP since they lose roughly $2 for every $1 the models lose.

Hope it gets fixed soon, and I'll gladly complain when my first gold show gets dropped.

As a quick update, one member who called support to complain was first hung up on, and when he called back, he was told by customer support that he was going to have his number blocked.

So if you attempt this, be aware that SM might block your number as well. I am confident that they are going to block mine.

I'm a little jealous, the guy got through again. My second call on the same number just rang and rang. I didn't try a second attempt on the other numbers though, just called once and moved onto the next number. Figured they be blocking those too. Wonder if I should?

This was my entire rationale for leaving stream mate last year: just the most obnoxious customer service people that I ever encountered. They don't care for questions at all. They don't like change. And most of all....they really don't want to talk with you. As long as your credit card keeps racking up the fees, no problem.
Between what they pay models, their rigid stance on what models can do and their lousy customer service, it's hard to imagine them being around in the future.
Didn't I read that Brazzers bought Streammate recently?

I wanted to say the same thing but I couldn't figure out a good way to phrase it

And having their customer service reps argue with customers like that, even if it was isolated to that one youtube user which is highly unlikely, is a horrible way to run a business.

There have been persistent rumors, along with denials, that porn giant Manwin, (they own Brazzers, Reality Kings, PlayboyPlus and zillion other porn websites) bought Streamates.
Personally, I am still wondering what the ramifications of the Cyprus banking crisis will have on SM since it is based there.

As far as customer service evidently SM often sucks, (my one issue was resolved quickly) but have you tried calling MFC :D, or getting a more than 10 word response from them? Recently many European models didn't get paid for almost two weeks, so MFC is hardly a role model. But then Chaturbate, and LiveJasin appear to be awful to models also.

just a little warning guys check your state law before recording live calls some states its very illegal but good for everyone who calls and complains to them that is fucked up

Between this and Chaturbate, it's almost as if covert MFC operatives have infiltrated the management of said websites and set about destroying them from the inside.

Who is in charge of these sites and what are they doing? Why do they think what they're doing is a good idea? The mind boggles.

Guy's got a third recording now, too.
I've never been a SM customer, but this stuff doesn't exactly inspire me to become one anytime soon. Even if there are tons of beautiful women there.

:) Glad someone else thought to mention this too. I've had to record calls in the past so I've been aware what my state laws are. Missouri has a very nice method of making it legal to record phone calls as long as 'ONE' party knows the recording is going on. (i.e. the one doing the recording usually). I thought about starting up Audacity and recording it last night but I was too tired when I did. As it turned out it would have been boring anyway. Me asking a question, them hanging up; repeat.

Well now, that seems like a strange policy. I would expect the result of everyone knowing that if the show ends early that it's free to be exactly what seems to be happening. Why? Because you'll have hundreds of script kiddie hacker douchebag freeloaders trying to find vulnerabilities in Streamate's servers that cause the model to be dropped so that they don't have to pay. Much like infamous 29 second free private, they'll wait until the end of the show, and then pull the trigger on some kind of evil packet stream and bingo, freebee. If this problem were entirely on Streamate's end, you would expect models to be getting dropped at random times into the show (and even in free chat). If, like you say, this always happens towards the end of paid shows, that's a mighty strange anomaly to explain.

I think Streamate needs to do two things, and fast.

1) Gain a clue about customer service. Even if they don't know what's going on, at least tell people "we don't know why this is happening, but we're going to do everything we can to find out." Hanging up on customers is going to gain them a very bad reputation, very fast.

2) Hire a good network security engineer. Probably they have a few already, but if (as my conspiracy theory senses suspect) this is a problem originating from outside network traffic, they need a whitehat hacker, like now.

I saw in another thread someone RAVING about how SM is the best place to work for camgirls because their support is AMAZING, if a model has an issue and reports it, you receive a receipt saying they've recieved your report and then they'll take you to a private Cam2Cam to fix it together.... I wanted to punch him/her. SM has NEVER been helpful and ALWAYS responds with canned emails. The only helpful person is Vanessa and she doesn't know enough on the tech side.

I'm really terrified to log on at SM anymore.

One of our own models at ACF has already verified that their security is shit and there are huge issues with it. Like... it's a little scary.

Liz and Vanessa are the only helpful, friendly SM Support people I've dealt with. I like those ladies. They talk to me like a person, and they don't constantly place the blame on me if I have an issue with the site. Every time SM Support says "Well, nobody else has complained about this issue," I just wanna yell "That's BULLSHIT...everyone is complaining!" LOL.

SM's issues are just one more reason that I'm glad I don't do Gold shows. I will happily stick to doing exclusives.

There has GOT to be a reason why camsites run by camgirls never work out. I just wish I knew what it was.

Marketing, also, men have a better head for business in many many instances. But women who try to start it with their partners, well, no one trusts the camgirl's boyfriend. Not that I blame them.

The ones who don't involve men tend to put in place rules and such that turn men away.

I see no reason why a female (or a number of females) couldn't start up a cam site. It's just like any business venture; you need the start-up capital, the expertise, the business/growth plan and the business contacts to make it work. Those aren't exclusively male assets :thumbleft:
