I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong in my broadcasts but I barely get any viewers or tips at all. I broadcasted for an hour and a half, dressed in cute lingerie with my makeup done, and put a reasonably priced tip menu out, and smiled and talked to every guy who entered my chat room, and yet, I ended with 8 tokens, . What am I doing wrong? I'm a 20-year old, nice looking girl, so what's the problem here?

Without seeing you on cam, it's very hard to give assistance. Camming success is based on so much more than simply whether or not you are attractive.

Your looks aren't what's important. Your personality is. Yeah, I think you're attractive, but that isn't the key to success.

They go hand in hand, if a model looked like a bat and they had the personality of Einstein I wouldn't watch them. Call me shallow.

K but my point remains: Just cus I think she's attractive doesn't mean she'll automatically do well.

You could be the hottest girl in the world and have no success camming if your shows aren't anything special.

I'm not saying that's necessarily the case with you, without seeing you on cam or even having a profile to look at I don't know why you're struggling to make money. It could be a number of other things like: you just haven't found your audience yet, maybe you give too much away for free, maybe you don't promote yourself well, maybe your stream quality sucks, maybe CB isn't the place to do the types of shows you want, etc. etc. Personally I found it pretty hard to get going on CB and it took me while to find a good tipping audience. In the beginning my earnings could be all over the place, one day I could get $500 and the next I'd only get 5 cents. Don't beat yourself up and doubt your looks just because you aren't making a ton of money.

My point is: Looks aren't the main driving factor in camming success (does it help? of course) what really matters is having a vibrant personality, offering something unique, and putting on a good show. Focus on ways to make your shows better, not your looks.

When ever I visit a CB room, almost none of the members in it ever tip the model. I think that the vast majority of CB members are freeloaders and/or beggers.

yep.
it seems always to follow this breakdown: 50+% of total room numbers are 'anon' (not signed up to CB); of what's left, 75% are grey (probably never going to spend money or do anything but compliment you, spam you dirty talk, or make demands), then you've got 25% left who have the means to tip you, and only a fraction of them will on any given day.

Success seems to come down to your real fans. On CB, everyone else is really only there to keep your company in the slow times and contribute to your 'room count' so you have more likelihood of being visible (e.g., top 100 / front page) to new fans/tippers.

I've definitely seen boring as fuck girls be successful thanks to tip-generators ('here's my flawless backside, and my vibrator, tip me!'), but I would never recommend it if you have the choice to be a person instead (i.e., to speak English, show your face to the camera, engage with your audience, etc. -- to supersede 'sex object')

what makes you different?
if there's no answer to that question, then you're resting your success on pure preference. a guy prefers asians to whites, he'll go see a 20yo azn with lingerie who talks in her chatroom instead of you. a guy prefers redheaded 20yos in lingerie who talk to blondes of the same type, he might ditch a blondes room to watch yours.

also, I don't know if you've ever used SM or anything, but if you have, make sure you don't drag their business model to CB with you. 'a reasonably priced tip menu' doesn't mean you just sit on your butt and never do anything entertaining in public chat unless you're tipped for it. It's good to give people a peak at what they're interested in. I'm sure no one likes 'giving it away for free' ... personal training, real estate appraisals, stripping, whatever service you're selling, but you also have to compromise to some degree in making sure you're letting people know that you have a service they want. not everyone will buy a service as a mystery. (e.g., guys wanna see if I've got a nick cock before they tip me to play with it, ya know?). In the same vein, people will rarely buy photos or videos until they've seen goods on cam and are willing to part with money for some higher quality content.

do you have any settings against your favor? - blocking anon content, blocking greys, silencing greys, poor streamrate, poor webcam quality, etc? things that other than your looks, personality, and show, that are reasons people might not want to invest in you?

I quit CB about 5 months ago because I got fed up with all the beggars and rude guys. In my experience, guys on MFC and SM are more generous overall. But yeah, success in camming is so much more than your looks. Being pretty helps, but I've seen really hot girls not make much because they're boring and just sit there, and I've seen women who most people wouldn't consider conventionally good looking bank. Your personality and dedication to keeping a consistent cam schedule, even if it's just an hour or two the same days per week, is more important.

First things first. You are hot. The person that said no, ignore them. Everyone has their own preferences and beauty expectations.

Secondly, the best thing about canning is that there are many other sites you can go on and try if one isn't working.

Thirdly. This shit ain't easy. Do you know the abundance of free porn is out there? How do you get someone to pay you to see your tits when they can just goggle tits? That's why personality is important. We aren't saying you don't have one. You just have to figure out how to make it shine.

When you are having a hard time camming, it's hard not to blame your appearance.

I think what you're doing wrong is focusing wayyy too much on your looks.

Yes, you're attractive but so is a lot of porn.

You pretty much have the attractive thing down, so move onto the other really important aspects of this job. Like consistency, personality, intrigue, QUALITY OF WEBCAM, a good computer, INTERNET SPEED.

I put in two of them in caps because those seem to be the big game changers and some of the more overlooked aspects.

Do you think cam models would a make a lot more money if tube sites and torrent sites didnt exist?
from what my friends say who have been in this business internet porn since it's infancy, probably yes. just got to work even harder now.

I was responding to the part of your post where you said looks are not important your personality is and while I agree 100 percent what I was replying to was it seemed as if you were saying looks were not important at all, that is why I said what I said that both go hand in hand because I have not seen, personally, many cam models succeed without some measure of both which is why I said they both go hand in hand because well they do along with many other aspects of camming, not to mention getting your name out there which is think is one of the number one things, I see new models all the time that I watch simple because someone recommended them on a twitter feed or they advertised themselves somewhere else, where I am sure if I had never seen those I most likely would have never come across them.

So seems I just must have gotten what you were saying a little confused and I apologize if I did so on my part. I assume you do think looks do play a factor in successful camming, but of course by no means can you have one without everything else to be successful, Nice looking girl sitting there like a zombie is boring, so yeah personality and many other things play a pivotal roll for me at least being a consumer in watching any model. Also people are weird 50 percent of costumers may respond completely different to one model in a negative or just not interested way, while the other 50 percent think she is one of the best models on any particular site(s). People are fickle, for me a model has to have something fun and something I like to even want to spend time getting to know her to begin with and then to stay and support her for months or even years depends on many different factors indeed.

Anyways, point to start with, was that I think you thought I disagreed with you, I did not, I just meant personality and looks for me at least BOTH have to be there along with certainly many other things, production value, good cam, fun, ...I could go on and on.

I tried to correct my punctuation, grammar etc which was horrible in the above post, but I missed my 15 minute deadline! I was in a hurry, apologies! Just wanted everyone to know I did try!

Agree that it takes more than good looks.

Example:
Saw this hot girl sitting around teasing a bit. Tipped for some flashes and was trying to move things to the pay-per-minute stage. Initiated a little dirty talked and got some bland monosyllable responses. Now I'm turned off, but still kind of interested what she does in shows. Lots of people in her room, so maybe she just had a lot to focus on. Paid for 20 minute skype in advance to sort of give her a test run with the intention to keep things going. And what happens? Disappointment. Girl is gorgeous but had no sex appeal. Strip tease was average. Then she started to play with herself and got the rabbit play, fast rubbing and hysterical moans. Tried to tell her to just relax and enjoy herself that I would like it more if she felt like she wasn't just putting on a performance. Fell on deaf ears. And after I got my 20 mins worth, quickly blocked on skype and never made it even to my bookmark list on MFC.

Looks may bring customers in based on initial attraction alone, but it takes far more than just a cute face and nice T&A to keep them coming back to you.

It sounds like the problem is that you haven't done enough research about the (highly competitive) industry you're trying to break into.

I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but threads exactly like this one pop up here all of the time. Camming is not quick, easy, or instant money. If you want to do well, take the time to learn about your field. How you look generally has very little to do with how sucessful you become. And no one can tell you what you're doing wrong (if anything) from looking at one selfie.

Goodluck.

I think the huge difference is between camgirls that really have fun in cam and enjoy with show, and camgirls that only broadcast for money.
I think every camgirl does show for money; me too (im a trans) I do it for tip and money, but I love so much show me and get horny with so many people that look at me.
so there are many beautiful girls or trans that only are in them room and wait for some tips..but nothing arrive.
i think that customers "feel" when a girl is "bitchy and kinky" inside her soul and she loves be naked in front all the world, and another one that just is waiting for some token ^^
I think this is a very important "secret"

As a member when you are looking for someone it is very much a first impression based on other previous models that you have experience of. Do something typical of a certain group in our mind and you will be placed in that group; usually to be overlooked.
Most likely when you hit upon that thing that distinguishes you from that group you will do better. You can only keep exploring and watching for what works.

Play around with the lighting and the room. Try some different forms of engagement (chat, camera angles, distances, or room activities).
On your looks.... don't change a thing as tempting as it may be.

If you can, try more time on; you may not be giving your room enough time to build. There can be a lot of chat and exploring you before the action begins.

Chaturbate is a tricky site, I have been a model for more than 3 years when I tried broadcasting there and even with some experience, the outcome was a disaster.Members get lost within the first few rows, there's so much stuff going on in there really.
To get some more experience and confidence, try a pvt intended website - just my opinion, it will help you see what members are after, what makes them click and get a better grip of the whole webcamming world.
But whatever you do, never ever ever ask yourself or others if you look attractive or not!! You are beautiful regardless of the polls, lights, make up, outfits and so on - being a webcam model will be nerve wracking and will make you question whether you are good enough or not, try not to let thoughts like that play with your head.

Totally agree, I think you have to specialize to. Guys are going to keep coming back and tipping if you make that connection personal:

I like the free loaders because they give me insight as to the type of guys that like me. The tippers are usually quieter but the grays will help you figure out your "sex appeal". Once you have that figured out you can target your conversations in ways that will turn on the tippers. Also be ruthless, if the show ain't tipping, leave. Shut down and go do the "day" you will find that when you go back those dudes will be happy to see you, nothing worse than looking like a tip whore who isn't being tipped. Then you look desperate.

some people cant be successful on chaturbate because admin wont allow them. For example some get banned for false accusations some , some people get banned for being outside in the back yard others can be in a car outside with cars passing by and nothing some get banned for drinking while others can drink on cam like Shanehall, Holihurricaine, Dawnwillow and nothing happens to them Unfair ? yes Thats how chaturbate is until the website owner drains the swamp and fires Shirley to hire a new stronger person that actually investigates the accusations instead of just taking the Tech guys side just because they work together. Maybe it will happen soon.Lets keep our fingers cross just keep complaining to the website owner to see if this can finally happen.

I read the terms of service and at face-value, the images you submitted should be in violation but there are exceptions.

Exceptions to the rules:

I am going to pretend that these Cam Stars* followed the rules and did the following:
  1. Sent an email to Chaturbate in advance for the "outdoor location"/ "pretend public location" and provided documentation that the "owner" of the property is ok with it, and that the "field of view" cannot be seen by the public.
  2. (as for that "sex toy" that sure looks like just a "smoothie mixer") I am assuming it is no wider than 3.5" and no longer than 12" of the insertable surface. IMO if i ever had a desire to use a toy that looked like that with a power-cord, I would probably take a selfie of it and get it "OK'd" by the support team

"This new rule originates from the United States obscenity law. Your toy may not be bigger than 12 inches or wider than a soda can, and must be an actual sex toy NOT a soda can ;)"

PS (Thank you USA for keeping our children safe! So is a fist wider than 3.5" obscene or legitimate a sex toy? ROTFLMAO)

Shane was banned for a bit last month for getting drunk on cam. You sound like you have a personal vendetta. CB may be banhappy but they do review your case after the fact which I understand from a legality perspective because they need to cover their own ass. Also not a really good place for you to shit talk Shirley. Hell of a first comment my guy.
