Sooo I had the AWESOME experience a few weeks ago of unexpectedly squirting alll over my computer in the middle of the show. The worst part is, I thought I might squirt and I knew my computer was in a spot where it might get sprayed, so I tried to stop immediately...which made me squirt all over my computer.
$800 and two and a half weeks later, I have my computer back and fixed. I'm pretty sure making $70 for a nigh (which would otherwise be super duper awesome) t in exchange for a $800 repair is the worst exchange I've ever made. :angry4:

So, my problem: Sometimes I squirt a small amount a few inches, sometimes I squirt a towel-soaking amount to a distance up to 8 feet away. While obviously I'm going to do my best to place my computer in a better spot (maybe up on my dresser like 4 feet away from me), the whole reason my computer crapped out is because some liquid got onto the place where it's plugged in. Do any camgirls who've dealt with this have any suggestions?

Could you maybe get a wireless keyboard and then move the actual computer well away from the area in which you're gonna be squirting? Or get like, a dust cover for the computer? That way, the monitor and keyboard are still in harm's way but the expensive part is safe.

I'm not the squirt expert, but from what I understand most ladies squirt in a more or less straight line from their vagina. If that is the case, is there any reason your computer needs to be in front of you at all?

It seems like it would be very easy to have your computer to your side, near you head or torso, and just move your webcam to a position in front and above you (maybe with some plastic wrap on the camera just in case). That way the screen is closer, your keyboard and mouse are right near you, and everything is well out of harm's way.

Could you describe how you explained the damage to the repair shop? Pretty please? You definitely tickled my funnybone

Yes, I would suggest wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, webcam with USB extension cable, monitor with extension cable and you can put the CPU far from you, keeping safe the expensive part.

I once saw a very lovely lady doing awesome messy dildo blow jobs, and her face was really close to the cam, fluids dripping all over (so yummmmy).

I asked her how she managed not to ruin her computer doing this. Her answer blew my mind.

I have my computer on my desk and when I do squirt shows I do them from my computer chair.

I just have my legs spread and propped up on my desk and a towel on the floor and thats where it goes :-D

Ive never had more than a few drops hit the keyboard but never my computer, maybe do your squirt shows that way?

Unfortunately I am but a poor college student with no car living in the middle of nowhere, and this $800 hit means I can't really justify buying myself a wireless keyboard.

Do you guys think saran-wrapping everything but my monitor would work?

I have to ask.... why not use towels and plastic wrap anyway? I've seen lots of girls spray, squirt, drool, drizzle, drip et al, and they don't seem to have any issues. Yes, I'm sure the saran or stretch wrap will be a pain to work with but still. if you cant afford a $25 auxiliary keyboard....... also, I'm curious as to why you spent so much to repair it... I can get new laptops for about the same and frequently less $$. :-D

Hey Isabelle... I quickly discovered that my laptop was also taking a beating because of how freaking wet everything got.

During squirting shows- I fold up a towel and lay it over the keyboard, since I won't be typing to my room during the actual show anyway. I do keep the mouse in reach though...in case I have to quickly lay the ban hammer!

During oil shows- I keep a clean plastic bag open right next to my laptop, but unseen by my room. Anytime I need to type or click while I'm covered in oil I just slip my hand into it. Just any old sandwich baggie will do.

Hope that helps! :-D

I've seen roll-up rubber usb waterproof keyboards for like $10 or less. On a laptop, the keyboard is the most vulnerable place generally for water to get in (or squirt), so cover that with something and use a cheap or better yet cheap AND waterproof keyboard, doesn't need to be wireless.

Yes, stop using an integrated camera? (assumption).

If you aren't using one, then stop putting the bloody camera on top of your laptop :D

Surely it's easier to read and write if the laptop is to one side of you - whilst a USB camera is stuffed down south... that way if things get wet, it's $50.

Most cameras would be fine with a spray of liquid anyway, I've seen Jalyn squirt directly *on* her camera so hard it got knocked over, and needed lens wiped etc but was otherwise fine.

Someone charged you $800 bucks for a new power supply unit?
 :? :o

Laptops run off straight DC, so they do not need an internal power supply unit. The power supply is the big brick on your power cable. I assume she got something on her motherboard and it shorted out. That would be several hundred for a new board, and several hundred in labor. I would have gotten a new middle of the road laptop for 800 before I paid that much to repair a nice one. It is possible the repair person just took advantage of her as well.

you would have thought most power cables plug in at the back so they'd be a lower area of risk compared to say the keyboard which can very easily fuck up when wet.

This can easily be remedied by stealing the glass (or plastic) from a spare picture frame and propping it up in front of the camera. Then you get a lovely 3D squirt show and all your electronics are safe. :twocents-02cents:

Provided the only thing within squirting range is the webcam and everything else is moved off to the side (personally I wouldn't use towels or plastic to cover my computer on the off chance it causes anything to overheat.)

Most middle-of-the road laptops that would be cheaper than $1,000 aren't quite going to cut it for camming, if the girl uses any of the splitcam/manycam/webcammax software while she's camming. If she also cams on streamate with the encoder, she's going to need at least upper-middle for laptop power. 's why I stick with desktops- easier to upgrade when streamate upgrades the software requirements.

My processor is 3.4 GHz (AMD Phenom II X4 965), and the RAM is 4 GB, and it is just enough for the adobe encoder to not slow it down while I'm camming.

Also- FUCK! They've already switched the new computers to windows 8? Windows 8 SUCKS!

Sparkling black?! Now that's a component I need.

Even the recommended requirements for adobe encoder are not that high for a single stream. Your processor is over four times what it asks for, and the one in the laptop I posted is just under four times more powerful. You may have other issues going on.

apple charges a flat fee for water damage repair--they replaced almost every component except the hard drive (which preserved some extremely important updates to my senior thesis, as I'd stupidly waited a week to back up my computer). so it really could've turned out horribly, like if they only replaced one component. I pretty much ended up with the best possible scenario for a flat fee.
