Is it common for models to ban members for bringing up politics?

I'm not sure how common it is for all models but I do it because it's distracting, a heated topic and takes the focus off of me. Whether someone is pro-trump or anti trump if someone brings up politics I'll ban them because it's annoying to deal with when I'm trying to be sexy. There's politics on every social media platform -- I dont want to hear about it at work.

My policy is easy: you get one warning. I openly admit to being a political person, but I don't allow political debates or policy discussions in my chat room. If I say stop and you stop, we're fine. If you don't, you're gone.

The only politician I allow to be mentioned in my room is Vermin Supreme. I say I live in the US, I hear enough about it just living here, thanks.

Pretty much everything with me is one warning, banhammer.

PS- Vermin Supreme promised ponies for all Americans, wears a boot on his head, and turned a homophobic (and rude about it) politician gay with glitter because Jesus told him to. Makes for interesting conversations and no arguments yet!

What if a guy was complaining about anti-pornography femenists like Gail Dines.
Ive wanted to do that on MFC a couple times.

I'm not educated enough on their stances to allow that conversation in my room or to form an opinion. As a general rule, I try not to talk about things that will alienate big swatches of audiences.

Still I'd ban after a verbal warning. A webcam sex site is no place to randomly start talking about anti-porn opinions of other people. Unless the model actively encourages that kind of discussion. We deal with so much stigma (we of all people know what kind of stuff anti porn feminists say) so I don't see the need of a re-cap on something that's negative about the industry when you're trying to make money and have fun.

Very fair and cool, not everyone reads profiles 100 percent of the time so an insta ban for bringing politics up for a noob is kinda harsh in my opinion and a room I would definitely avoid in the future. There are many offenses that deserve a ban with no warning, this is not one I agree, that does. Every person is different though and each model runs their room differently so you have to respect that. Personally rooms with fair warning on touchy subjects are the ones I tend to hang out in and tip in over the years. I appreciate the models that give out warnings and it totally turns me off to their room when they do not give that, (for non blatant offenses) I get profiles are there for a reason and meant to be read but honestly all the "rules" are not always in there and I do not feel like reading a long profile every time I view a model for the first time. A lot of the times I do but not every time and I have even been given the warning about political stuff in chat and appreciated the warning, very impressed with the patience these models took. A tip for my fuck up never hurt either.

As the saying goes, "there's a time and place for everything". No way is a webcam chat room the place for a discussion on politics. It is so completely off topic and highly distracting. No camgirl should tolerate it.

Saying that no camgirl should tolerate politics in chat is going too far. You cant speak for every single model on a camsite.

In the past it would depend on my mood if I would allow political talk in my room. If I did not want that chat I would just tell folks that today we were not going to talk politics, just boobs. If they did not listen then I absolutely would ban. My room often had political or human rights discussions.
However,

If I were still actively camming I would probably instate a no political discussions policy in my room because tbh right now we can not get away from it and having a room away from it would be nice for me.

I was visiting Chaturbate and I saw model ban a member for mentioning Trump. I also know of several models who state in their rules that politics is not allowed. Is it common for models to ban members for bringing up political topics?

I'm not sure how common it is, however I've unfriended quite a few people on Facebook after they've said things that disgusted me...and even now there are a couple people on there I'm still on the fence about. I can understand why a model would ask a member to not discuss those things in her room. As a friend of mine was saying, nothing divides people more than POLITICS and RELIGION. Plus, on a cam site it just seems more "fun" and "safe" to discuss things like favorite movies and T.V. shows. I know that I'd rather discuss those things than to have to deal with cam site members at each other's throats over why Hillary or Trump "is bad." I wouldn't ban a member for bringing it up. But I feel that if the model asks a member individually to please change the subject, and he ignores her and continues ranting like a lunatic, he should expect to be booted or banned. Sorta reminds me of those religious fanatics who like to hand out Jesus stuff to people at bus/train stops, and badger people into "getting right with Jesus." You just wanna say "Dude...SHUT...THE FUCK...UP, and suck on a Tic Tac while you're at it..."

for me, it really depends on the tone and the timing.

What about a member bringing up internet censorship in China? Both MFC and Chaturbate are blocked there.

I use the same rules as I did when I was bartending "no politics and no religion". They are really toucjy subjects, and nobody is going to change any minds. I would give one warning. There's a time and a place for it, but when I'm trying to get turned on? That is def not one of those times

I'm the same way. I'm not overly political, but living in the US and staying on top of the news, I read my fair share of news articles regarding politics. If a discussion is civil and everybody involved is speaking in a respectful manner, I'll be cool with it. If it starts getting heated or people start hurling insults at one another, that's a no-go.

I like to let conversation flow organically in my room if possible, so if it goes in a political direction I don't automatically curtail it until somebody gets out of line.

I find political debate very unsexy, so if a model allows it and there is a political debate I will quietly leave the room. Also the last few years I have rarely seen actual serious debate on the internet, it's usually a shouting match anyway.

A cam room really isn't the place to discuss that, though. I feel that that's what twitter and other forums are for. Talking about banned porn and countries in a room when you're trying to set up a sexy vibe just isn't kosher nine times out of ten.

There is a time and a place for everything. From a members perspective, bringing up controversial topics in public chat on a camsite is never a good idea. I avoid that stuff like the plague!

Themes such as politics, race, religion etc, are fine if being discussed on a forum, a blog or on twitter, but on a site like MFC they can easily poison the well of conversation in a room. Heated debate often screws up the room vibe and takes focus away from what the girl is doing.... which is never clever.

IMO, it's best to keep room discussion light and frothy, not heavy, dry and dull. After all, a camsite is a place of entertainment, n'est-ce pas?;)

:)

The best thing for you to do Guy is to follow the models lead. If your chat topic is opposite the tone she's setting (for example talking about video games while she is performing a strip tease) it's not going to go well. I talk a lot in my room and enjoy discussing politics and world issues, especially at such a colorful time as right now but there is a time and a place for it and if done at the wrong time WILL make me lose money, and nobody likes losing money.

For me though, heated debate is never allowed and the topic will be dropped if it's starts going in that direction. Luckily this just isn't an issue I personally run into often.

Yeah I always say I'm not gonna get political and then I start ranting about economics and patents so clearly I have no self control.

I have no problem talking politics on social media, but when I'm on cam, I'd rather focus on making the boners happen.

I was thanked recently by a long time regular for avoiding any political stuff in AmberLand. They see enough of it everywhere else, especially on Facebook.

I avoid posting stuff on my related social media as well, because it's all part of my brand. I'll mention very small jokes or jabs on ACF once in a blue moon, but in general I think it's best to keep politics and other controversial issues out of your brand as a cam girl.

(Unless you make controversial stuff itself your brand, of course. I see (and probably unfollow cuz it ain't my bag, baby) a lot of girls constantly in debates with people on Twitter about really controversial issues, and obviously that's their tactic. If they wanna be violently-voicy-Vegans or gore-posting-PETA-advocates, that's their prerogative, but it turns me and many casuals away from them for sure.)

The last time someone brought up politics in my room I played along because I thought it'd be a quick in passing thing. Nope. He wanted to talk about DAPL and all that, to which I just shot it down by saying "I'm mixed native and I'd rather not talk about this." You don't really know the person in the other end of that screen and what their views are, and does it really matter what their politics are if they can give you a boner? I mean, short of them being a literal nazi I don't really care about someone's politics when I'm in room.

I was in a models room once and she had a confederate flag up on the wall behind her. Loads of people were calling her racist, she was getting really angry and explaining to each person why it wasn't racist and then banning them all. After a couple of minutes silently watching I ended up saying, whatever your view on it surely it must be better for business to either take it down or turn the cam around so we can't see it otherwise this will never stop. Then I was banned too.

So yeah the lesson I learned from that little story was politics and MFC don't mix,

How dare you make such a logical suggestion! The nerve!

For real, though, if a piece of your background is causing enough of a stir that you're in a constant defend/ban cycle, it would be wise to move it elsewhere.
