Hey guys! If you have a model account on Pornhub, do you accept friend requests - does this benefit you in any way?

I accept them - I log on about once a day or so to accept friend requests, check messages, and check my ad revenue amount. If someone sends a message asking to see something or see more, I respond with a link to one of my clip sites. If they're wanting to sext or trade pics, they get my SextPanther number or link. If they want my phone number, Niteflirt, here you go.

Accepting friends means that they can message you, which can be a negative, but a lot of people subscribe when they add friends, so now they are going to see your new uploads in their stream, and they'll be more likely to watch them, which gives you more ad money.

Do, however, disable people from posting to your stream, unless you're OK with lots of random dick pics and jerking videos. If they send them via message, it's just a link that you can ignore, but if they post it on your stream, it's a pic or vid that's RIGHT THERE.

I just want to confirm my take on this with a short summary. The only way to get traffic to your website or clip store is to watermark you videos?

I looked at the content partner program and you need to run an affiliate program to get advertising all around. Clips4Sale and most other Clips sites do not have affiliate programs. It looks like ModelCentro has an affiliate program, I just do not know how their whole program works. From what I am seeing it looks like a ton more work which I am not sure I want to jump into at this time since we are filming, filming, filming!

It's not the ONLY way, but it's a good supplement. If you're on Clips4sale, they have loads of on-site traffic, so you don't really need to advertise if you don't want to, but you can absolutely bring in extra income by doing so.

Thanks, @SaffronBurke. By only way, I meant with PornHub, xVideos and xHamster's programs. I know that Clips4Sale has a lot of organic traffic. Just looking for as many ways as possible to boost the targeted traffic to my store.

I have been using Reddit to attempt to boost my Twitter Feed and I am about to give up on that and see how else I can get more Twitter Followers. In about 2 weeks I have only picked up a little over a dozen followers I can attribute to Reddit Postings.

Can you explain how those affiliate programs work in general? What are the rules on PornHub, xVideos and xHamster regarding your advertising within one of the clips that you post to their site, or within the textual description of the clip on their site? For example, if you post a 5 minute clip from a 15 minute video on a tube site, and you try to upsell the 15 minute version, what are the constraints on your doing that on the tube site?

People view your videos, you get ad revenue. It's like YouTube.

Advertising works like this:

Watermarks on the videos that are links to my stores.

How much is made per stream?
I don't know the exact amount, but it's not much. A fraction of a penny.

@SaffronBurke pretty much covered that, but to elaborate, you post videos on the site that you have produced and receive a portion of the ad revenue they generate. This is not huge money, however it is revenue you can earn while you sleep.

The other benefit is they seem to have no issues with water marking with links to your clipstore/website/twitter. This generates a whole new batch of targeted traffic. Like any site they each have a different audience, so some people may do huge business on PornHub, another model may not do so well. Yet if they both go to another site, the reverse may be true.

Do any of these sites allow you to add a little sales pitch to point to your site in the description of the item? In your example, they allow URLs in the watermark, which is great. Would they allow URLs in the text description of the video that would take the user back to your store? It would be nice if you could use the free distribution of the Tube sites to do an upsell on a longer / better version of the video, and in the text description of the video have a link straight to the store page for that.

There is no description. Just the title and tags.

That's abysmal.

It's pretty par for the course as far as ad revenue goes. I've made far more from Pornhub than I have from YouTube, it's way easier to get views on a porn site.

It sucks but at the moment its the best option we have. It may be pennies on the dollar but since working on SM (takehome is 35%) I have conditioned my brain to not look at the percentage I get but the take home money vs time/effort put in and for me pornhub works. I try to upload a video or 2 each month and I also search and try to have any uploaded vids of mine moved over to my account. Im not making a living through them but I have already made enough this month to cover my car payment and that makes me pretty damn happy, not to mention the amount of custom vid requests I have had since opening my model account.

Both RedTube and YouPorn are affiliated with PornHub. Do they also have model payment programs?
Its all done through pornhub but on our payment page we can break down earnings by each site. Most of my earnings by far have come directly from pornhub vs redtube or youporn.

The way I am approaching it is to look at it as advertising. Several commenters in this thread say they have seen a boost in traffic and sales from PornHub, xVideos, etc. Where else can you get traffic and get paid for it? I will not put my best stuff on those sites, more short clips or "trailers", just enough to get them interested.

I believe xhamster has a program as well. They also offer an option to sell videos through them, which is intriguing.

Yeah xHamster reached out to me and wanted me to sell videos on there, but I just don't have time. I'm trying to balance the sites I have right now!

I have not been able to find anything on this at the XHamster site. Any idea where I can find more info?

xvideo only pays for clips that are at least 10min long so keep that in mind before uploading anything.

Have you read this? From what @Rose posted in MO they seem to have quite a few loops to jump through.

They're also currently taking a long time to approve videos. I've had one uploaded since Sunday and it's still not approved for revshare. It only has 15 views in that time, but it would have a ton more if it had been approved already. I only have one out of the previous five that hasn't been featured on the homepage, so I'm confident that it will be once it's approved, but what gives, yo.

Yes I saw that and it seems to be geared to Web Site Operators rather than selling clips directly, which was what I thought was mentioned. I will will need to research more. It does look like you could get a ton of traffic from it due to the advertising real estate provided.

I need advice :( I'm new on Pornhub and don't know how it works that well.
I have a pirated video someone uploaded that has nearly 2 mil views. I've tried to contact Pornhub because I'd rather have my own videos uploaded than have other people putting them up and reaping benefits. I'm going to contact copyright again.

This video is one I sell on MV but it's so popular on there that I might as well upload it myself. People still support and buy it on MV, so I guess there's that also.

@Sofi Swan Do Not have it removed, contact model support through your model account, if you dont already have a model account create one. They will move it over to your account and you will receive payment for those views.

I'm trying to get verified right now but my photo won't upload :( I'll have to get verified then sign up for the model payment program. I already sent an email requesting the transfer of the video to my account, so I'm sure they won't delete it since I mentioned I'm a content creator.

@Sofi Swan There is a very good reason to not request it be deleted, did you see the comment that @MojitosJourney posted? I would not want to throw $1200 right out the window. Once you are verified you contact them and have it moved over to your account and you will get back paid the revshare for that video.

If anyone is curious how much some Pornhub videos are making per view (forgot to mention this in my previous post): around 2 million views equalled $1200 USD in the case of my friend.

@Sofi Swan After you are paid out, then what I would do is create a new clip to replace it with watermarks to your clip store and/or cam site and replace it with an "improved" version.
