I'm gonna go against most (all?) the models in this thread. There is nothing wrong with asking. I have gotten phone numbers, viber and other contact info from several models, but I only asked two. Some offered after a long time chatting on MFC. Common sense is important. Your example of asking when you first meet seems to me to be a bad idea. It's far better to get to a know a model before asking. And if they say no, just leave it be. Most will say no.

And if a model offers you her info when you first meet, run. You will get scammed

I just want to clarify that it is idiotic to ask for a model's number when you first "meet" her. Trust needs to be built over time and it will take a lot more time than women who are not cam models lol. I am saying, however, that there is no hard in asking some time after meeting and chatting normally, not sex talk.

Its up to the model if she wants to give out her number or not to a particular member I just don't see simply asking as being a sign of a creep, although it may be construed as a person that is rude without manners depending on the culture of the model the member is visiting and what her particular rules may be.

We are camgirls. We are the one's in question here.

There has been a resounding "Yes, that is creepy" from the community. We already know that you don't think it's creepy, but we are telling you that we do think it is. I think that we would know better than you!

You do not have to ask though. Models that want you to have it will give it to you.

This.

Every single member who knows my personal information never had to ask for it. I shared it with them when I was comfortable doing so.

That being said, I don't think it's strange for them to ask and I don't take offense to it either, but they might just find themselves banned from my room after asking. My personal information is not something I freely share and since I never know how someone will react to me saying "no, I don't share/sell that info" I get a little nervous responding to the random guys who ask within minutes of coming into my room. Depending on the vibe I get from them they might get banned immediately. If they ask a second time they will definitely get banned. Why? Because some guys don't handle rejection of any kind well and they think "well, if she won't share it with me I'll just do some investigating and find out on my own". It happens ALL. THE. TIME. There are fucked up people out there who have nothing else better to do with their lives than to try and "out" girls in the adult business, stalk/harass them or otherwise try to destroy their life. You (whoever is reading this saying "But Kitty, I would never do that!") may not do that, but I (the collective 'we') don't know that. Trust me. Until you become a model, tell a member no and then have to deal with the terribly negative consequences of saying no, please don't say it's just as easy as saying no. Sometimes it just isn't. You haven't lived until you've experienced a man in his mid 40's lose his shit and act like a 4 year old who just got a sucker taken away because you wouldn't tell him your first name...or where you live...or run off and marry him because why the fuck not, Kitty??????? What's wrong with you??????

:-D

Why are euro models more open about where they live than are models from the States, also with names euro models seem to(or in the past) to be more open with their real first name.

I think IF I were to ever (emphasis on if because this is a big IF) feel trusting enough to give a member my personal info...they wouldn't need to ask for it if it honestly got to that level of trust. It would just naturally happen on my own terms.

I don't think I could ever trust someone who just straight up asked for my personal info based on their lack of understanding how the camworld works. If they can't understand how important protecting my personal info is to begin with or why a model can be apprehensive/annoyed/pissed off about being asked etc--why the hell would I trust them with it?

In my experience foreign models, depending where they are from, will more readily give personal info because they hope to get something from you -- cash.

It could also be that they figure there is no harm in telling an American guy where they live on the other side of the planet.

You're assuming that the "real" name they gave you is actually real. Some girls have a fake real name for particularly curious members who really want to try to pester information out of them.

"What's your real name, Blair?"

"Pamela Coleman, but my friends call me Pam."

See how easy it is?

Edit to Note: My name is NOT Pamela Coleman.

1. A lot of EE models "real" first names aren't their *real* first names.

2. Distance and the difficulty of finding a model's location in a country the language of which is unfamiliar, provides a measure of safety. I've had a Russian model threaten to ban me just for saying "Hi" in Russian. A lot of Russian models won't work on Russian cam sites, at all.

Or maybe, just maybe, it's just another fake name?

(Blair beat me to it, but I'm posting this anyway!!)

Its more fake names now, but in the past(like 3 to 4 years ago) it was mostly real first names that girls in ro were using.

In the past, gas was a nickel a gallon.

But still out of 100 Romania models, more will give their first real name than out of 100 American models. Its probably a distance factor, plus most American members on MFC will never go to Romania no matter how much they are talking about that they are going.

Within 5 minutes most strippers are telling me "their real name", without me asking in any fashion.

I like to compare adult entertainers to demons corrupting the land in their own glorious fashion (I mean demon in the most endearing way possible!). They have their name, their real name, and their true name.
For good reason they don't like to give up their true name because nefarious evil Warlocks will act like douche's and see it as a means of gaining power over them.

Sorry, I just assume turning everything into D&D metaphors helps.

Some models give out their government name on their wishlist, but the larger(more professional) studios usually have a studio account on amazon, as well as studio yahoo accounts etc.

This comparison makes me unreasonably happy.

Are you tell me that Magic MenageTrois, the stripper who said she adores me and gave me all the attention my wallet could afford LIED to me about her name? :naughty:

I've encountered a few models on MFC that were willing and eager to give personal information because they needed cash which raised a big red flag. I blocked them right away because there is no way in hell I was going to trust them with my personal info. Only a few people from MFC have my personal info and one of the main reasons I trusted them with it is because they take their own privacy very seriously.

Anyone who is obsessed with getting a models personal information is the last person on earth a model should be giving any personal information to regardless of how much money is in question.

Yea, MFC gets a cut, but tipping in tokens can be more convenient (it was for me) and it allows you the maintain the element of surprise. Plus, tipping in tokens gives more context to the tip. I regularly tip the girl who cuts my hair $100 when I'm in a good mood, but I would feel really uncomfortable just walking up to her outside of work and handing her $100 because that seems like a tactless gesture to me.

ThePioneer said:
Just as tips are nice and appreciated but never expected, additional attention was the same way for me. In my opinion, if you're only spending that much money to leverage yourself into a closer "friendship" or to meet up with that person, you're going to be very disappointed. Tipping a girl a large amount of tokens doesn't entitle you to anymore of her time than she is comfortable with.

Anything other than this attitude can become predatory. You must also be wary of your own security, creating manufactured relationships and delusions both for yourself and the model.

I guess large tipping members would be inclined to get real contact information from models, but I think long term trusted regulars even moreso. I think it is a mistake for others to assume that with large tips/ support that a model can be somehow bought. I doubt the members that tip think so.

I would also never assume that the member is bothered by the percentage the model takes from large tips. Yes there are ways to directly support a model, but then you are into a completely different relationship.

I used to like camming one on one with non-models on skype, but changed to paying for it later on. Don't assume that members want a models real name (models have 3 names usually). Personal is ok, but it is something that can hurt both people too. As much as you may be bored and up for a little drama, it can go wrong quickly.
Model and member will get to know each other anyway, can't be stopped, there is no need to push it.

So would regularly in models room+regular tipping+gift buying be a more effective method that one can use to gain a models' trust. From my sources there are a few guys on mfc that meet up with some models and some are even dating the models on and off, but I don't remember if they were large tippers or not.

:woops: You might be on mfc for all the wrong reasons mate. You're either going to end up as another OMG "She loves me [NOT] thread or I've been scammed, ZOMG HELPZ" kind of thread. Stick to fapping and interwebz entertainment. Boobs are nice and stuff...!

I have no idea on how best to gain a models trust but keep in mind that some models also escort or allow you to pay them to hang out/date raffles so the guys that are "dating" the models aren't really dating them if that makes sense. And you're being pretty creepy guy, tone down the creepiness please.

I'm not looking for a gf on MFC, I could use FB and have one in a fraction of the time with relatively low costs whatsoever and 0% chance of being scammed. I'm just curious how that part of cam sites actually work because it is interesting.

Being curious about how some people are doing social engineering is far from being creepy, ofc this may be the wrong kind of forum to talk about it since this subset of the internet population is a little more sensitive than other areas of the internet I visit.

Just hold on one hot second. It's great to go into a model's room and tip her. You SHOULD do that. You're enjoying the fantasy she's creating for you.

BUT... You were talking endlessly about not seeing the problem with trying to get models' numbers and other personal information, and NOW you're talking about how there are apparently some guys on MFC who are meeting up with or dating models presumably because you want that, too. Just, no. Please, no. If you have to calculate a plan to gain a model's trust (just so you can potentially get her personal information) then you are not trustworthy. It sounds like you have a bit of a fantasy about getting with a cam girl, and really, for everyone's sake, come to terms with the fact that it'll not be one which is likely to come to fruition.

I don't have a fantasy of getting with a cam girl, and I'm not going to get myself fooled into wasting alot of time+money on something that has a very remote chance of happening.

PRISM said:

Your insistence on ways of getting a model's contact info is becoming creepy. You may not mean it that way, and I did say twice that there are ways of becoming closer to a model, but it seems as if you are going into a camsite with this goal in mind. This is both alarming and almost 100% guaranteed to end in failure and you being hurt.

PRISM regulars are not going to be trusted just from offering financial support. It is a display of respect for the model as a model, not much else.
Sometimes trust can come from very little, even just from chatting, and it can come quite quickly between people. It comes in stages, to take that to meeting someone safely would take quite a bit of sincerity, the kind of thing that is harder to fake.

Some models don't mind meeting some of their members, most wont. After all if the opportunity arises and it is safe to do so, why not.
Take my time on MFC today, the model I was with was telling me about being the sickest she has ever been, got it after her son did (any parents here will understand). Would the model meet me? The answer is perhaps, assuming I happened to be around her region.
Known this model since she started, not her regular, 1 son, leads a pretty good life in coastal italy, think is still married so why do I think that she would? Opportunity and trust.

Many regulars don't gain a models trust in anyway whatsoever, even after years of visits and good support. The model won't share this with them naturally, for one thing it would be cruel to the member. It is not that the model is using the member or unappreciative of his interest in her, and they can share plenty of good moments on cam. I think anything beyond the cam interaction would be highly unlikely.
