Can anyone explain it to me please, why there is so many unemployed professionals, like lawyers and psychologists working as a cam models? I know that some of them can be students of course, doing some research about cam law or about psychology of average user that is addicted to this or that... or something even more believable.

While I stopped responding to anyone who is claiming to be either one, i get many times into unpleasant or even ugly situation -- after my response that i don't talk to liars, lawyers or psychologists suddenly i must be a loser fag!?...

Anyone have any explanation? I mean if girlie is a lawyer or psychologist or want to lie about it -- that's fine with me. But why i am attacked about it?? I am not responsible for their truthfulness, or law/psychology degree for f*** sake.

:)

Not really sure where you're headed with this, but if a model says she's also X profession, yet still a cam model, it's a good indicator that being a cam model is good money if you do it right/well. (And yes I mean even better money than being a lawyer, or psychologist, if she's actually good at this job.)

I know of 3 broadcasters with in my small circle (we all have our circles) that are educated professionals and hold amazing position in the companies they work for. And cam just to get their naughty side out and don't really care about the tokens :D

@Frank Kodis
The cam world has all walks of life. Never doubt what you hear at times. Unless you know it to be a blatant outright lie. And you are right, just keep quiet about it. Let the liars dig their own hole :)

I guess that happens too, but this forum focuses on the ones that aren't "hobby weiner(clit?)-wankers" so most people here depend on income from camming. Sorry if that wasn't clear that yes, some people do it for fun too, but to call yourself an actal "cam model" I guess I suggest they have to care about the income from it too.

I can't speak for Psychologist that cam. While I think that would be an interesting avenue to see various user behaviors and conversations. I personally considered law school and had a few friends that went and have gone on to become Lawyers. I'd say out of 5 of my friends that are lawyers. Four of them took a few years post law school to land the right Company/Law Office that paid them. So it doesn't surprise me that there are Cam Models that are making a better working wage as a Cam model than they would/are as an attorney. Additionally, once they pass the BAR I don't believe they have to work for an actual Law Office or Company. They can do consultations and whatever else out of their home. So you can be a practicing Attorney, that works for your self and also be full time Cam Model. Wouldn't surprise me OP if many of the models you've encountered that are Lawyers probably supplement their CAM career with legal services like handling DWI's, Traffic Violations, etc.

Because if you’re just starting out in a profession, you aren’t making as much as people think. Average associate attorney income is below $73k. Loans for undergrad and law school are insane plus you have to figure in the crazy hours expected, expensive professional wardrobe etc. I’ve already made more than that this year as a cam model working maybe 3 hours a day and most days it’s more like 2 hours on cam. Models that find their niche and audience do well and it’s very empowering to tell people off and not worry about getting fired. I have 2 degrees and experience working in the corporate world and I definitely make more camming AND I can always be there for family. It’s a unique world and most models who make their living doing this love the flexibility.

Of course there’s gonna be models who fib. It’s a friggin fantasy in the model’s room. While many of us are more “transparent” than others, please keep in mind we do have a cam persona. We get insulted, proposed to, internet stalked, trolled, assumed we are all prostitutes willing to meet any random member who claims to have money... we need the persona as a level of protection. It’s fantasy layered with levels of reality.

Well, if i decide to say anything about my profession or anything from real i don't feel that urge to lie about it to buildup my self esteem or whatever reason. I mean, miss Danigirl answered "persona as level of protection..." and its fine, i dont care and i never initiate conversation asking all personal details and after asking for proof :haha:, just why starting talking about that at all? And called out just be angry at me

Stigma around sex work is real and if you are going to be dismissive, you should not hang around here. You should probably be more empathic.

There are people who don't value our privacy, and of life. That is a fact and models do over exaggerate to throw people off or send them on wild goose chase.

Also camming is a job for majority of people. Its about creating a fantasy for the person purchasing. Do you get mad at Julia Roberts for not actually being Erin Brockovich? No you understand she is playing a part. Just like majority of people who cam. We are playing parts.

If they want to do it for fun, there are tons of places to get your exhibitionist on and not do it for tokens. I don't believe any cammodel who says they are just in it for fun after three months. I think they are hustling.

I could see how someone could get a law degree or a psych degree and end up later doing sexwork. Sometimes you go to school for something, put the work in and it turns out to not fit you or your expectations. I did that with cosmetology. Luckily, trade school and licensing didn't put me into debt like a heftier career would. Those are also jobs that someone could maybe enjoy at first and burn out on quickly. Or not be good at and make crap money. It wouldn't be that hard to burn out before even paying off your schooling. Then what? They find themselves camming and maybe their ego requires them to keep reasserting that they're actually a lawyer or a psychologist. Those careers have a different social standing than anything naked will get you. Every doctor or lawyer I know puts their title out there when meeting people. It's pretentious, but whatever. Society's fault for making such a big deal about career in the first place.

Alternately, if someone were using camming to put themselves through school for such an intensive degree or camming as a side project while working in those fields, those two things are likely taking up all the time they have. That would mean talking about it on cam often if you're letting people into your life that way. What else would there be to talk about? On sites like MFC you need something to talk about.

Frankly, any camgirl probably has some history of jobs before or is pursuing something for the future. It doesn't take that much thought to notice once you get to know people, members or performers, that we're all complex and not as cliche as portrayed. If you don't want to get that in depth, stick with rooms or sites that are less personal. Or buy content that is your speed. A more thought provoking question might be about yourself. Why do you feel the need to call out a "lie" without any real evidence that it is? What do you gain from making that claim? You could really just click out and go about your porning with someone who fits your expectations better. Sure, there are probably people on every camsite, members and models, who make loftier off cam lives in their imagination. It's the internet. What do you get by pooping on their imagination parade when they've not hurt anyone? And why risk putting your foot in your mouth by assuming something that could so easily be true is a lie?

Frank, why are you here? This is a pro cam girl forum and you just seem like the standard douche gray user who wants everything for free and is mad at the world when the “liar” cam model tells you no so you have to pick them apart. Just wank the dick and keep quiet.

It's strange that when you ask someone their job, and they give you an answer... And you instinctively don't believe them. Instead, you call them liars... Then you get miffed that they call you names. The fact that you automatically assume that they are lying, implying that it isn't BELIEVABLE for models to have REAL degrees in such big fields... I find that a bit perplexing with a dash of patronizing thrown in. Just because they do adult work does not mean they do not have the ability to earn their degrees. And choosing not to use your degree does not warrant being called names. And if they are models, they clearly are not unemployed. They have a job. They just chose to focus on a different career path than what their degree was for. That does not make them liars. There are a ton of professionals in the vanilla industries who can say the same thing. They went to school for one degree, and are employed in a different field. Do you call them all liars too when they tell you what degree they earned in school? Or just the sex workers?

Do you know how many exotic dancers/porn people/cam models I know who are pre-med? Or who have already earned their grad degrees? I know a LOT of models who got into this profession in order to pay for crazy expensive college degrees, a move that I find both shrewd and understandable. And after they got said degrees, many discovered that this job is a better fit for them: either because they love the freedom, because they love the creativity, because the vanilla industries may offer a lot of stigma based on their past sex work, because they may still make a lot more money as a sex worker and don't feel like starting at the bottom-rung of a new industry. There's a vast array of reasons to explain why models may earn degrees in one field while choosing to pursue a career in the adult industry instead. Hell, I've got a degree in an unrelated field. Am I ever going to use it in a professional capacity? Nah, probably not. I mean, I loved learning and I loved going to college - but this industry is a better fit for me, career wise. It doesn't mean I won't go school for more degrees, simply for the fun of it. But that doesn't mean I need to leave a lucrative career that gives me immense amounts of personal and professional satisfaction. I don't want to start over when I've poured so much of my heart and soul into my job, especially when starting over means sacrificing my free schedule, the ability to work in my pjs, take vacations whenever I want, make money while I am sleeping... For what? Working a 9-5 job, having to commute and wear boring professional outfits, answer to a boss who doesn't believe in treating their workers like people, working hard just to put more money in the pockets of a corporation who already has more money than I could imagine, being used simply as a robot tool that has been stripped of my dignity and humanity. I'm good without that rat race - but that doesn't mean I can't be proud of the education I earned, or prevent me from going back for more.

Personally, I am MORE likely to believe sex workers who tell me they have earned their degrees. Why? Because the sex workers I know are effing hard workers. They are smart as hell, smarter than a majority of the other people I know. They are fierce business men and women who don't let other people stand in the way of their goals. They work hard and hustle to get the money for all of their degrees - and let's face it, money is a giant preventative factor that keeps so many people from pursuing/completing university degrees. But sex work often gives models both the freedom and the money to complete their degrees - and not everyone wants to give those both up just because they have a new piece of paper declaring them to be a professional.

Why does it matter what degree a model has? Are you trying to get legal advice from them? Are you trying to get diagnosed with any sort of mental disorder? If you're just trying to enjoy their company and jerk off to their shows... Then I don't understand why you're so bothered about what degree they have earned. It doesn't affect you at all. If you get so upset over a model's degree that you have to lash out and call them a liar... Then do you also get upset when they don't tell you their REAL name? Or their location? Some details have absolutely ZERO effect on you or the show. So whether you believe the answer or not, you can still treat the models respectfully and either enjoy the show or find a different model.

i get you are trying to be cheeky. i do not think it means what you think it means.

a woman asking you a genuine question and you genuinely answering isnt "mansplaining"

"mansplaining" is when a man goes out of his way to condescendingly explain something to a woman who didn't ask and/or is already educated with the subject.

unemployed professionals, like lawyers

I don't know any model who is a lawyer or a psych so I have nothing to say about it. But I do know lawyers IRL and either they work virtually for free (aka they're broke) for years in big law firms while daddy still pays their bills (and they start making real money like after years), either they are self-employed professional who have opened their own private law firm with daddy's money (or are associates in daddy's owned law firm) or simply they just got tired being broke and moved on and now are doing other jobs. Also, there are really too many lawyers out there!

Also, sorry for the usual double post.

While I'm sure there are plenty of professional models, I also wouldn't trust anyone to be one. it is the interwebs afterall, bb. ;)

Honestly, why even bother discussing it if you have so many negative interactions from it? Go there, get your jollies from the interaction and leave the career, etc out of it.

Maybe he could call all the female lawyers in his town and insist that he saw them on cam. Eventually one of them is likely to admit to her second career. Camming is lonely, so she'll be happy for someone to be in on her little secret and she'll give him free camshows for life.

This is just stupid. What i asked was, why the hell not write in profile cook or dancer or whatever besides that stupid lies? I might be wrong, but just by blind chance its impossible that half of mfc are unemployed lawyers and psychologists. Also to get degree time is at essence and i doubt that 19 yrs old silly goose is another prodigy that chose camming as better option than.. its just stupid, but still funny. :)

The more likely lie is that they're not 19, did you ever think of that smarty pants? I've personally been 27 for about a decade now.

I don't quite believe that "half" of MFC lists their profession as lawyer or psychologist. Or quite understand why you care, even if they were lying.

You're just another of the numbskulls who think way too far into their camming experience. Youv'e done nothing here but make yourself seem neurotic and in need of some mental help.

So... stop overthinking your cam experiences and just use the cam sites for what they're meant for. Visual and sexual stimulation... then if you want to make more of a connection with a model keep in mind they are allowed to create their own false or secure identity just like you are on the Internet.

Now kindly fuck off with your wackyness.

Well someone who did waste time and money on a couple of degrees that aren't being used, I can tell you,

LIFE DOESN'T USUALLY WORK OUT HOW YOU EXPECTED IT TO.

This is stupid. Why are you judging people for their life choices and running onto a forum to gossip about it?

time is at essence
