I have a few regulars that I do Skype shows with and it can be really useful as a source of income when I can't stream live on cam (e.g. travelling somewhere where the internet speed good enough for skype, but will result in no-one entering my room on cam). Also because you get 100% of your profits and instantly.

Where do models advertise your Skype services? Or members, where would you go to look for a model to Skype?

Feels very restricted as I obviously can't advertise on cam, Instagram won't allow it, and I don't really have a big following anywhere else! Would anyone recommend Skyprivate or something similar? Seems like you have to set your prices wayyy down low and you don't even get 100%

Twitter
My own website
Some escort sites now have sections for online and content creators
Also I receive phone calls from guys who have found me on adultwork, you cannot discuss off site cam, photo, or phone chat sales using the AW system but quite a few guys do phone around.

I use a service called SkyPrivate, they have a database of registered models that users can look through and contact. They have a plugin that you install and that charges the member per minute, it's really useful as you don't have to keep track of anything, but they do take 30% from your earnings - I still prefer that because I don't have to trust no one, people pay the site and I get my money, no paypal scam etc. You can also set you own rates and minimum amount of credit that the user has to have in order to be able to contact you. There's also Cam Model DIrectory which I didn't have a good experience with (lots of racist members, but I think it's because of how they advertise themselves as having 100% All-american girls etc). I think both kind of became the same company nowadays though.

How does Skyprivate work, do you need to be online for them to be able to find you/contact you, a bit like cam sites?

You can use your existing account, you just need to link the pay per minute app to your existing account (they have a how-to but I can walk you through it if you have any questions). To be shown as online on the site you just have to be online on Skype and have the plugin turned on, but you don't have to be online like in broadcasting. I wouldn't count on the site as a source of main income but it sure is helpful for some extra and for days when you're not feeling too well to be live all the time.

Thanks so much for this! Yes, not expecting this to be a huge money maker but I often have to travel for my main job and some of the hotels I stay at have terrible wifi/poor mobile network so it's just not feasible to cam. Skype seems to run fine though so hopefully this will be useful!

Whenever you broadcast on whatever cam site/s you broadcast from, if somebody asks you the "do you do Skype/are you on Skype question/s," just say "I can't discuss that while here but to answer your question, yes." Don't give anymore info. than that, but with that being said, don't rely on somebody to search for you on Skype. I've discovered if a person wants to spend time with you on Skype, they will search for you, and will send you an invite. It took me a good 2 months before I received Skype invites, but I do porn so people who I do Skype shows with just looked up my porn name, discovered I have a Skype, and sent me invites. If you don't do porn that's okay, just be patient, and if I find any way you and/or any other cam model on ACF or not can make a connection without getting in trouble now, and moving forward, I will let you and everybody else know how to do so. Use your name Sashacurves, and see who invites you, but careful with who you accept, since there are, sigh, unfortunately, a lot of haters out there.

If you go the Skype route, I recommend using a payment method you normally don't use to receive payments, and have the payments transferred to whatever account you do use regularly, if that makes sense. That's what I do, but you have to do what works for you.

If the guest keeps asking questions, just simply say "I can't provide more info. because if I do, I'll get in trouble, and you don't want me to get in trouble while online, do you baby?" That has been my go-to response every time. If they care about you, they will respect you/that. If not, just politely decline their offer, and/or if they're abusive towards you with their responses, ban them and report them to support ASAP, so no other cam model has to deal with their drama/BS. True, I've been off the cam sites for awhile, only because I make money offline and doing Skype shows, but when I get online on the cam sites, that will be my response every time, and I hope this benefits you and other webcam models. If support on whatever cam site you work on says this is not beneficial to you, and/or to anybody, just disregard everything I just typed in this thread.

1st of all, I'm glad you're successful offline and online, because not everybody can do this, so good for you. 2nd, be careful regarding Skype shows since identity theft is unfortunately on the rise. See link below. Also keep this in mind. Skype frowns upon adult entertainment stuff, so be careful, because somebody could do a show with you, and suddenly say "I never authorized that/this transaction," and then you don't receive any money, so be careful.

In conclusion, I hope this is helpful, not too long, and if for some strange reason this put you to sleep, I hope this gave you a good nap/sleep, and/or anybody else who reads this thread. Don't worry, not getting too attached, but the webcam world has helped me in so many ways that are too long to mention here, so I hope this helps you and/or any other model out there.

Yes I do this but some of them really don't catch on or are too lazy to do their research and I end up hinting like "my name is the same on every platform I'm on..."

I'm not so sure this is true for me - when I was on MFC where the rules around skype are relaxed, I used to get a lot of shows and from lots of different members. Now I'm on streamate and can't advertise skype, I get a couple now and then but otherwise it's just my regulars I've had since I was on MFC. I think people are too lazy to go looking for you on Skype most of the time!

Haters and timewasters! I don't give my ID to anyone unless they've already paid. Learnt that the hard way in my first couple months camming when I had people trying to ring me without even asking, and just messaging and messaging without ever buying a show 😅

Interesting about the identity theft, just watched the video but it's pretty vague, what's the risk? I never give out personal details if that's all it means? And in terms of payment yes, I know nothing is really safe but my method is Cashapp - I take payments first obviously, then with first time customers especially (but usually even with regulars) I withdraw the cash before we start a show so worst case scenario is my empty account getting shut down, not a chargeback.
In conclusion, I hope this is helpful, not too long
It's been really helpful thank you so much! I'm still pretty new at all of this so it's great to learn hints and tips from someone who knows their stuff!

Np. Glad I can/did help. If whatever I say does or doesn't work for you now and/or moving forward, for you and/or anybody else here on the ACF, I respect everybody's opinion whether I agree/disagree with whatever responses are posted. Thanks for responding back.

Sashacurves I have used Skyprivate where a model did a show for me. Worked well for me, it was a while ago though. I paid USD$2 per minute. Hope that helps just a little.

Hey Steve, appreciate this! I started using CamModelDirectory instead of Skyprivate - I can charge higher rates on there, though the traffic is pretty low
